Dr. Basile is very different than any other Optometrist as she provides the most professional service you would need. Not only is the exam quite thorough, it is never rushed either. Dr. Basile is never concerned with the time she spends with every patient. The exam takes as much time as required for each patient. Conversation is encouraged so as to get the full understanding both by the patient and by the Doctor. Pre exam interview is just as important and is always part of the full exam. The prescription is right on. Need frames and lenses? What an inventory of frames. Lenses are whatever fits your needs and turn around time from the lab is quick. What more do you need? Oh, how about a great staff with Sue and Kathy!

I’ve been going to Dr. Basile for many years, and like her style a lot. What I don’t like is calling the office, and getting the answering machine during office hours. Worse than that, the answering program is full, so I can’t even leave a message. The last couple of times I’ve needed an appointments or contacts, I had to visit the office to get it done. I cannot imagine it’s so busy that I can’t be put on hold for a couple of minutes before I’m helped. It’s East Longmeadow!

I live all the way out in Worcester and still go back to E. Long. for Dr. Basile. I stopped going to her through college and few years after(and got some really shoddy Rxs for contacts in the process). Even so, I walked into her office and she immediately recognized me, found my file without even asking my name, and asked me how my mother was. Dr. Basile is very thurough, gives the best Rxs for glasses/contacts, and definitely has your long-term eye health as a top priority(unlike, say, at a mall or glasses chain where they just want to sell you frames).

I love Dr. Basile. I’ve gone to her for all my eye care needs from when I was very young up until I moved out to Boston(and even for a time after that!). She’s extremely friendly, has a lot of patience with kids, and really gets to know her patients. The only downside is that sometimes you end up waiting way past when your appointment is scheduled to actually get in the chair. But for eye care in the greater Springfield area, you can’t beat her.
