I am done with this store. Due to the rude, preppy, blond, bespeckled salesperson.

Lower end place. Went in looking for wax stamps and she treated me like dirt and was so confused why she would ever carry such a dated product. Just rude people. I understand it’s a poorer demographic in the area and less people probably spend money on stationary there but all the more reason to treat your customers well

Denise from gilberts written word was so helpful when it came to ordering my wedding invitations. She sat with my mom and I for hours upon hours going through books, choices, giving us her advise, etc.
We were so thrilled we used her for shower invites, thank you cards, escort cards, church programs, and pamphlets for hotel welcome bags, too. She was able to help us fit all of this in our invitations budget.

Sorry to say to the reviewers of 2011… but I am sure today in 2014 that I found the Ruby Red Slippers under Gilbert’s. The Wicked Witch is still alive!
The real unfortunate part of her personality (outside of any relatives that must also endure it), is that the store really has cute stuff in it. Her attitude, however, is not cute at all.
As a consumer in there to buy something that would make you feel good, her attitude makes you feel the exact opposite. Almost like i should feel privileged to be in her presence.
I have been in the store a number of times and no matter what the day or season, the customer service is poor and has been downright offensive we actually asked questions specific to cards for Military. She flat out said, «Who would want that?! That stuff doesn’t sell. We put it in Clearance! I think it has flags on it.» — My nephew has been deployed to Afghanistan and we thought we could find cute cards to send, so we asked. So sorry we did. I wont be back. Ever…
…ok or at least until Glenda the Good Witch shows up. I’ve had it with this place…

I write this with the full support of those that have known this fact for many years … Gilbert’s is operated by the Wicked Witch of Western Mass! Lighten up lady! You sell a product that should bring joy and instead you administer pain and suffering upon customers that god forbid spend money and support your local business. My extended family has had multiple interactions with the store and miss misery over the years and every one is the same. 1000 paper cuts upon you.
