I have always been a fan of friendly a ice cream. Being a former employee while living in Boston, I loved their black raspberry ice cream. I recently came back to New York to visit and this was one of my first stops because it’s not there on the west coast. I got my fix and I’m happy. The food their is mediocre but their ice cream will always be the best. Black raspberry for life!

So i was in the Meadow Ghetto tonight for some other business and i decided to stop by this Friendly’s instead of my usual Levittown or Massapequa location. The place was deader than my parents and so quiet it was eerie. No music or anything BUT not there to get my jam on. I got sat promptly next to two senior citizens who couldn’t possibly chew any louder than they did oh my lawd. My server was Ron and he was so nice and friendly, get it!!! Anyway got the same shit i always get and it was delicious. Hate all you want on the Friendly’s Big Beef burger but im a fan of that and the FF. Always yummy. Was gonna get some ice cream but my ass said no way girl. So it was good im full and im on my way home. Done and Done… AND im a BFF some like club you join so i had a coupon for money off too. Win win.

Quick desert with my niece. Needs updating. Service was OK. Ice cream hits the spot. We didn’t try any food as they looked busy & didn’t want to wait

Short story– My review is only on dessert. Service is severely poor. Might not have everything on the menu. Specials aren’t displayed everywhere so be sure to either look around or ask. Men’s stall doesn’t have a lock on it. I would come for take out and that’s all. Long story– Environment: Only Friendly’s I’ve ever been in. Not the most appealing place to eat. The menu’s were kind of sticky and the coils were coming off the bindings. The menu’s were also kind of confusing. They have names of sundaes with the word small, medium, or large in front of them, which make confuse some people who would point and say«I want the large caramel over nut» Service: Waitress was very slow. We had to get up and pay at the cashier because she took so long to give us our check. Restaurant wasn’t even that full. One of our eaters wanted orange sherbet which they didn’t have anymore. She told him when everyone else got their ice cream. We weren’t going to wait so we ate our ice cream and by the time we were all done she brought his. He asked for a plastic spoon to take it to go and it took her a good 5 minutes. Dessert: Ice cream was ice cream. Prices were decent because there was a special going on that we didn’t know about. It was just coincidence that some people ordered it. I ordered the Friend-z and it tasted like a McFlurry/Blizzard from DQ which I was happy about. The sundaes looked good. Small was small, medium looked large, never even saw a large.

I wish you would be able to leave a half star for this location that’s how bad it is. As soon as you walk in the smell of wet dog and old food hits you it almost makes you want to walk right back out. The wait staff were okay nothing too spectacular. The menus were so sticky you had to peel the pages apart. The food was okay but the whole experience ruins what little they can be proud of. Definitely don’t recommend this location to anyone.

I don’t even want to give this one star. Today we went to this friendly’s in east meadow for the second time and the service was awful. We were sitting for over 20 minutes and no one even came over to take our order, and they sat another family who got attended to immediately. When the manager confronted that waitress, she said«it is not my table.» And it was the table next door she was serving! Awful.

We will not be coming back. Staff was very nice. Even though our waitress forgot our drinks. French fries were over cooked and chewy. My daughter got a hot dog and macaroni and cheese which was they powdered kind and very runny. I ordered the BBQ chicken strip sandwich with mashed potatoes. The sandwich was tiny. You couldn’t even see the chicken. And the mashed potatoes I didn’t even touch. They were microwaved to long. They looked bad. I can’t believe they would send them out. I attached a picture. Maybe it’s just best to stick to ice cream. But we were to disgusted with the meal to get ice cream.

Nothing standing out from any other friendlys, but what made this visit to this location great was the staff. Maureen was surper nice(not super creepy nice like she wants to secretly kill you but nice) from the time we step through the door till we stepped out. Even someone who had nothing to do with us passed us and was polite enough to ask how we were. I got the Big two do exactly how i wanted(usually even if i like what i get i dont or can not finish it) it and it was just perfect finished up everything nice and gone.

Wife and I go here for breakfast. Used to split between this place and Denny’s but Denny’s closed suddenly few weeks back. Food here isn’t bad, French toast is real good but service could be better. Lots of time servers are hanging out in the kitchen and nobody even notices when you walk in. Also, wife likes decaf hot tea but they don’t consider it necessary to have it even after manager was told. It’s the little things that make a person want to come back to a place. If Denny’s would reopen we’d go back there.

This place was terrible. Probably won’t end up dining in a Friendly’s again. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted, the tables were sticky and dirty. All the tables around were filled with trash from the last party that left. Horrible service!

Out of all the Friendly’s locations in Long Island, this one is by far the absolute best. I come fairly often with my grandfather for our night out together and he always gets the chicken soup which he has never had any other way than piping hot and delicious he says. He usually gets the New England Fish and Chips or a burger and always enjoys what he orders. I usually order the Honey BBQ Chicken Melt and order the fries and the bacon cremated. I love burnt and crispy bacon and fries. MMMMM. This is the only location who ever burns my bacon for me or even serves hot fries for that matter. The servers, although young, are quite attentive and friendly. The server we had last time, I believe it was Nicolette was extremely friendly and took genuinely good care of grandpa and I. We also ordered small sundaes, grandpa with strawberry ice cream with strawberry sauce and myself with Nuts Over Caramel and Butter Crunch with fudge. I love the Nuts Over Caramel but the Butter Crunch was a bit to crunchy for me(I’m not trying to be funny here). I almost cracked a tooth on the crunch. Now that I am becoming an old lady, oy vey, I guess maybe I will have to switch to Butter Pecan or Chocolate Chip. I will be back, but I think it is time to switch up the sandwich and start getting something different. I am just not so sure what yet,

Came here last night for dinner. The wait to get a seat was around 10 minutes, felt like longer. Food was good, not great but what do you expect, it’s Friendly’s. I ordered the fish tacos and a chocolate fribble milkshake. The fish tacos were really good, they had some nice flavor. It also came with a side of Spanish rice, that was good too. Overall it was good.

Joint is a bit dirty. Tables and chairs are sticky from ice cream. The waitress wiped both the tqble and chairs with the same cloth. It is stickie. Most of the staff are cool. Food are usually ok but sometimes differ in portion.

Let’s pretend I came here because I’m babysitting 3 kids… not because I love the Reece’s Sundae … Service — actually pretty friendly. The servers are mostly teens, but they are efficient and great with kids. Ice Cream — They should get 5 stars for that… All of their sundaes are good. Some of our family favorites include the strawberry shortcake, banana split and the kids Monster Mash. There’s even a cool sandcastle one that, while overpriced, includes a great sandcastle bowl for the kids to take home. Food — They would get about 2 stars for food. For kids, you can’t really go wrong with mac & cheese or chicken fingers — as long as it’s not their everyday meal. But for adults, it’s hard to find anything great on the menu. I ordered sliders and they were the most dry-looking slices of beef on dry bread and stiff cheese I’ve ever seen. Not even appetizing enough to take a bite out of! You could go for the fried fish, shrimp, etc, but it just doesn’t appeal to me. The most decent thing they ever had was a crispy chicken salad, but I didn’t see it on the menu this time around. Cleanliness — I understand it’s a place where kids come and create disasters, but must the table be sticky? Overall the place was in good shape, but I look forward to a time when I don’t have to go there armed with baby wipes. Bottom line, if you have kids, then you’ve gotta go to Friendly’s!

Waiter, may I have one watermelon roll please? Friendly’s in East Meadow, Long Island where I’ve patronized this particular location for the um-teeth time with my former love – a native Long Islander. Child friendly atmosphere in a diner setting. The real star is of course the ice cream but their gargantuan entrees will bring sunshine of happiness. Service is attentive and somewhat efficient. Party of three and sometimes my party of two with my former love our entrees were served somewhat promptly in a good timely fashion. Private parking lot in true Long Island fashion. Price is reasonable. Friendly’s is comfort food for the broken to dispel all anguish.

Friendly’s is a chain but since I didn’t grow up with it, I have more of a fondness for it than I otherwise might. Going to this one in particular was a good experience today, especially since there are none near my neighborhood. First off, the server was very attentive. This has not always been my experience at Friendly’s. I didn’t even have to look at my watch when I sat down to determine if I’d have to use the 10 minute rule. Second, the food was good. I’ve never had problems with the food at Friendly’s though it is a bit heavy and depending on what you get, can be greasy. Finally, the ice cream is top notch. Had my first Friend-zee today and it was also good. Very basic, standard fare though if you don’t like older people or young children, you probably shouldn’t go to Friendly’s.

Get your HAPPYENDING here! Not that kind! The happy ending sundae was truly a happy ending. As a kid, I loved eating at Friendly’s. Either being in LI or on vacation, finding Friendly’s was a real treat. Friendly’s fits the bill of satisfying unhealthy American cuisine. Every tourist outside the US should make a pit stop at Friendly’s. My favs are the tuna melt and the chicken quesadillas. I choose the chicken quesadillas appetizer for my entrée. A bit disappointing with the size of the quesadilla — yes, I know it is an appetizer portion but back in the day, this was a bigger portion. There is a chicken quesadilla entrée but it includes rice and who wants to eat rice with quesadillas? My brother, who was my date companion went all out for unhealthy junk — the munchie mania build your appetizer. He got the waffle fries with cheese, sliders and quesadillas. Of course, I ate some of the fries. Our ending was a happy one with me getting pistachio and cookies n cream with hot fudge and he got some chocolate specialty sundae, with him it’s something with chocolate. What would I do without Friendly’s? Yes, this location was great to go to after a long afternoon at Jones Beach. Exit M5 of the meadowbrook. During a busy Friday night, the entire staff were on top of their game. Kudos to them!
