So I have eaten at Pietro’s before but tonight was absolutely positively the LASTTIME I will ever go there. To begin with, we went in at about 7pm on a Thursday. Restaurant was fairly busy, with 2 tables open in the front dining room. We were seated immediately by what I think is the only waitress. She was an older lady, as I said I believe she was the one and only waitress working so she was noticeably annoyed that we wanted to be seated. We proceeded to order 3 slices of pizza(2 plain, 1 meatball) and 2 sodas. The waitress responded with«that’s it?» in a tone of disappointment as if we had wasted her time sitting and occupying a table. Shortly thereafter the sodas were delivered. Then the waitress brought us 2 empty plates that were beyond filthy. Way too shortly thereafter the pizza came, which the waitress made sure to point out that our pizza had come out much quicker than anyone else’s. The pizza looked disgusting, as if it had been made days earlier and left out and then reheated. Pizza was incredibly stale and the cheese was super congealed giving it that gross orange color that you get with reheated pizza. I now realize that the pizza only came out so quickly since it was old and was just reheated. I suspect that it came out quickly with no effort in presentation just to get us out quickly so they could seat a more expensive table. I proceeded to ask the waitress for crushed red pepper to which I got the most exasperated annoyed look as if I had asked her to give me her kidney. She could not have been more unhappy and unpleasant. As if the food being DISGUSTING wasn’t enough, the entire place was infested with flies and was so hot and humid inside I am sure it only added to the fly infestation. Will never return again and will certainly never recommend their pizza to anyone. Thanks Pietros for the disgusting dinner! $ 13.60 for 3 slices and 2 sodas. Pretty pricey if you ask me! On a side note — went there a couple weeks back and ordered 2 slices. Only after I placed the order and the food was being«cooked»(aka reheated) did they tell me they tell me there was a credit card limit and I hadn’t reached the limit. There is no ATM so I told them I was going to the bank and I never returned. I don’t play the credit card minimum game, its illegal,

To be fair — pizza is ok but not worth time or aggravation. But to also be fair — their customer service is awful. I will never order from them again. Consecutively(we have ordered maybe five times) and the last time(today) it took them over an hour and twenty minutes to make and deliver two pizzas… it was a Saturday at 1145am!!! The manager condescendingly«OKed» me when I called to complain the second time within that time. He had absolutely no regard to the fact that their time management is awful and insulting. The workers we had at the house left before the pizza even came! I rather give my money to an establishment that is respectful to their clients time & I promise I will share that with anyone I come in contact with in town.

I grew up with this stuff. .. .. .. .. Let me just sum this up easily. .. «Sesame Seed Crust» — Your done. .. . it doesn’t get better than this. The Pizza, besides being special is exceptional. You can’t beat the way John has mastered the Sesame Seed Crust — it is truly delicious. The Eggplant Parm. Hero is fantastic; especially when I get it with slices of fresh pepper in their. Woops — I probably shouldn’t have told everyone; I’m not sure if that’s on the menu. Great pasta meals — Sauce you could die for and exceptional bread. The Owner«John A.» is a great«Family Friend» who just so happens to be an exceptional CPA — To top it off he’s a Mets Fan and a damn good guy too boot. Great family! Please stop in — You won’t be let down! A+++!

This review is only for the plain pie with sesame seed crust. My favorite pizza so far — I’ve tried a many pies between Queens, BK, LI, Manhattan, and even Charleston, SC. The dough is thin enough to be a good balance between chewy and firm. Definitely don’t need major jaw action, so that’s a plus because it’s annoying to have a tired jaw after scarfing down 4 slices. Speaking of slices, small enough that a 15 yr old, 45 yr old, and 32 yr old easily finished 4 slices each — that’s 2 medium pies. They enjoyed their meatball topping and I enjoyed my plain w basil. Sesame seed crust is amazing in flavor and texture. Place is small and out dated, and service is friendly but slow. Neither matter as long as my pizza comes out fresh, hot, and in a timely manner.

New to the area so still hunting for all the good spots. First order of business finding a pizza joint. Went here on a recommendation. Sesame crust large cheese pie. Price is very reasonable. Sesame crust a nice touch, but something about the sauce just didn’t do it for me. Not a bad slice of pizza, but the search for the best slice in the area continues.

Since 1983 I have been getting my pizza here. I have friends who come from Dix Hills once a month for the pizza. We prefer the sesame crust and they like the poppy. All is good when we debate! Can’t wait to get home from vacation or a long weekend away as we know what we are having for dinner — it’s not pizza its Pietro’s!

Returned last night to Pietro’s for classic pizza that’s made to order the old fashioned hand tossed way. They add sesame seeds to the crust and each pie is oblong and a rough circle. As I said in my last review, it’s not the greatest pizza nor the worst, but it is traditional. Like most traditions, there is something special about it. Visit yourself and see.

I had high expectations having been recommended to Pietro’s with their known sesame seed crust. I’d let them know on the phone, for my takeout, that I was a first time customer and asked about the sesame crust, which they said had to be specified with any other crust additions, like garlic. They let me know it was a 25 minute wait. I arrived at the time set and picked up my pie, smelled great as i drove home. Opened the box and the color was pale, badly cut up for size, very thin and spongy, taste super bland. Best was the crusted edge when i could finally sink my teeth into. There were only 2 women dining on a salad and slice when i was there that saturday night at 845pm. Guys for $ 15 put some substance and taste into your creation, considering what the mark up is on a pizza pie. So i made my first and last visit there. Lots better around, including dominos.

I’m really not sure what all the fanfare is about Pietro’s. I’ve been here multiple times and it’s just an average pizzeria that happens to put sesame seeds around their crust. I like the fact that they make a whole wheat pizza pie, and the sesame seeds certainly do make the slices standout, but I just can’t wrap my love around this place. If you’re looking for a decent slice, you can’t go wrong with it. If you’re looking for something extraordinary… In my opinion, this is not pizza heaven. PS — if you stray from the pizza, you’ve gone too far. The other items on the menu are just not the best quality.

The place is famous for sesame crust and plain pies. I’ve never really tried anything else here, but I can vouch for the pies. The place looks old school inside and they really don’t cater to pizza by the slice, no specialty slices and no counter with «eye candy«or delicious things to look at to see what peaks your taste buds interest. Pizza is solid place is old school, only reason for a star loss

The Italian food here is delicious. My husband and I have been here a number of times to eat in and a few times as a take out. I suggest any of the shrimp dishes which are expertly cooked and well seasoned. The fresh bread they give you when you sit down is pretty yummy too, we use it for dipping. My only gripe is the parking situation since there’s two fire hydrants and a residential spot next door, plus a masque in front. However, it’s worth the trip. I like sitting up front by the windows to people watch! The prices are very reasonable and the waitresses are friendly.

Their sesame crust pizza is awesome! However, I was extremely disappointed to find out that even though I had a coupon for Buy 2 hero’s, Get 1 free, that it was very pricey. I ordered a meatball hero parmigiana which cost $ 8.25, chicken cutlet parmigiana which cost $ 8.75, a meatball w/carbonara sauce, even though I preferred Alfredo sauce, this was the supposed free hero, but had to pay extra for the Carbonara sauce. Only for the fact that my husband is allergic to marinara sauce, and they didn’t have Alfredo sauce. What pizza restaurant doesn’t have Alfredo sauce? And I ordered the ravioli, which they wanted 11.75 for 8 ravioli’s…I felt it was way too expensive and ordered the child’s portion of ravioli because it was just the right amount for mom for $ 5.75, which came with regular bread instead of garlic bread. I never heard of that before. I’ve always gotten garlic bread with a pasta dish from all pizza places. So the kicker of all this was it cost an extra $ 4 for the Carbonara sauce, and it cost $ 4.25 to get garlic bread with the pasta dish. The bill came out to $ 33.70! Can you believe it?!? I was shocked! Way too pricey, so it looks like we won’t be ordering anything but pizza if and when we go back to Pietro’s. We could get Alfredo sauce at any other pizza restaurant. It was a joke, except for the pizza which is great. They used to be great, but now just okay. Very disappointing.

Pizza is the best. But some other things off of their menu isnt’ as good. I ate in the dining room once for my boyfriend’s birthday. We got chicken parm and it was horrible. I was very surprised. But i still gave it 4 stars because it is the best pizza out there. the cheese, crust and sauce is all perfect. def my favorite pizza ever

Just moved to the area and was looking for a new pizza place. Have tried a few others and were not too crazy. Decided to give Pietro’s a shot due to their promotion of having sesame seed pizza crust. When you walk in it has a small town family pizza place feel but not one of a complete dive or hole. For our first time there we decided to do a simple order of a large cheese pie with sesame seed crust. The pizza and dough tasted very fresh and overall a very good pizza. I am a big fan of sesame seed crust as very few places do this now a days and Pietro’s did this well. My only complaint about the pizza was that for about $ 14 for a «large» pizza, the pizza was pretty small. I did not measure it, but the box was smaller and I would guess their large pie is only 16″. For the size of the pie I thought $ 14 was a little pricey. However, it was a pretty solid pizza pie. I would definitely go back though.

Great pizza! This is my offices go to place during special luncheon events. Let me tell you something, you can’t go wrong with the pizza here. The thickness of the crust is just perfect! The crusted sesame seed edge on each slice is delicious, not too thin and not too doughy. You can also order the the crusted edge with poppy seed, onion, garlic or pretzel. We always order the sausage, pepperoni, eggplant, white pizza and plain. We have never been disappointed by the quality of Pietro’s pizza, they have always done it right! Go check them out, you will not regret it!

New York style pizza at its best with a twist. They’ve been in the same place for over 25 years and they really have perfected their pizza. Their specialty is a variety of different crusts they offer on their pizzas and all of them are very good. Pros: — Pizza is fantabulous! — Affordable — stood the test of time Cons — Small indoor sitting area but its a mom and pop pizza place so its expected.
