This is a regular lunch stop for us. The restaurant is in the back of a small Mexican grocery store, but don’t let that stop you. The food is delicious. I’d recommend the rice & beans, steak tacos and gringas(think quesadilla). Definitely worth checking out for quick, cheap, authentic and yum-worthy Mexican food. Mix the two salsas if you don’t like the too hot or too mild salsa options you’ll get with your chips.

The food is actually pretty good, but you may never get it. I’ve been a few times and service was always slow. Last time I went(and ever will), my wife, 2 kids and I waited for an hour and still hadn’t gotten our food before we finally just left. The waitress didn’t come to tell us why there was a delay, another server saw we were getting frustrated with the wait and said he’d go check, but never came back(we waited 10 mins). We just ordered tacos, so it shouldn’t have taken long. One of the worst waiting experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Never had to leave a restaurant because of no service till this restaurant.

Best Mexican in the Midwest, hands down! Even the local Hispanic population comes here, so that means something. Their salsa is just right. Nice and chunky, but not too much chunky. The spices are spot on and the color makes you want to eat it right away. I always get fajitas. Just the right portions and if I could, I’d eat more because it’s just that yummy. Come here for Mexican, you won’t go anywhere else.

Authentic Mexican! Go through the Mexican grocery storefront to the back. You can order in Spanish(you may have to). Loved the carne asada tacos! the tortillas were so good. The rice and beans, too. The homemade tamal I had was so-so, the masa was a bit dry. They have a cart with a variety of salsas that you can add. The local Mexicans eat here. They have bottled soda pop imported from Mexico in the refrigerated case. It’s worth it to walk over there from the Radisson nearby rather than eating at the TGIFridays. And the price is right!
