Cupcake Heaven is a cute little shop on Montauk Hwy just before the Hampton’s if heading east. however. they only use a highly processed sweetner. that has serious reactions if googled online. Stopped in with a friend and he enjoyed a tall iced café mocha. but I winced when he was told it had Truvia in it. and the proprietor glowed as she explained it had an «all natural sweetner» Truvia. All natural doesn’t have an R with a circle around it next to it’s name. I think Registered trade marks are hard to get on all natural foods aren’t they? Lol It sounded like another version of «stevia». I hesitated to write this review because the shop is small, the proprietor nice, and trying hard to build a business, but alas… I’d rather tell someone to google the reactions of the«all natural» Truvia, and to decide for themselves. Here is one article… eek… Diabetics. may need something besides sugar. but this isn’t it. sorry. but back to the drawing board… apple sauce? fruit? something actually natural. and I’ll come back and rewrite the review… The effort is definately appreciated, just not a fan of artificial sweetners’ or them being touted as all natural. Please expirement with something honestly all natural, and you will have a fan. Good luck.

Ordered a hundred cupcakes for my daughter’s baby shower. Tried four varieties first, they were not great but they were good, the price was reasonable and I wanted to give this new local business a shot. Since there were 8 people to a table, at the owners suggestion, I ordered 8 varieties, two of each at each table along with fondant pooh characters, four for each table. I picked up the order the evening before as they were closed the day of the shower. When we go to set them up on the table there are only 7 varieties and of course the flavor missing was MY favorite. She completely changed the variety of the order… I still had a hundred cupcakes but because we now had only 7 varieties it completely screwed us setting up the tables. The fondant Eyores were adorable, the Tiggers were fine, but the Piglet and Pooh characters… well, I’ve seen better from a fourth grader. This from a woman who keeps reminding you what an artist she is… very disappointing. The reason why I will never use her again is because when I called her the next day and asked her what happened… she denied we ever order 8 varieties! Mind you having 8 at each table was HER suggestion! She kept insisting that the order was right, even when I reminded her that the 8 varieties were HER suggestion. My guess is making the 8 varieties screwed her math skills making the batches and she decided to go rogue. Had she admitted it I could have gotten over it, now she has lost any business from me and any recommendations. If you are planning an event steer clear of this business unless your okay with her creating the order that SHE wants and not the one YOU want.

I believe there’s a god above me, I’m just the god of everything else. Disclosure #1 While I tend to enjoy chocolate anything, I borderline abhor chocolate cake Disclosure #2 Been meaning to stop by here for a while* but the Double Chocolate cupcake was actually a gift(You could imagine the guilt that washed over me when I discovered this badboy ran the generous purchaser $ 3.75 [pre-$ 1 coupon — they’ve offered plentiful quick-expiring coupons since they opened].) I didn’t know personal checks were still a thing, but if they’re still your payment of choice, CH only accepts cash & plastic(they say CCs, but I imagine they can run debit). The frosting tasted like the Bittman recipe — nothing phenomenal or memorable, but these days ubiquitous cupcakeries have certainly put out worse. There’s a difference between underrated and hasn’t made it — time will tell which category this spot falls into. Ultimately, a solid product but at an unfortunate price, especially given the location(they deliver to Eastport, East Moriches, & Manorville, but apparently not Center), rendering the proprietor a wannabe pie-oneer. I still cannot fathom how places like this feel it’s wise to open in the area(especially with cutthroat competition from other assorted sweets spots along Montauk Highway) and somehow survive. Add to that the fact that they’ve hatched a plan to start making bagels(& bread) in September, an endeavor which may single-handedly unravel the operation given the reliable bagel shop(s) a stone’s throw away. It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed. Best of luck to the folks running Cupcake Heaven.
