I discovered this amazing radio station while on a trip to Maine that involved A LOT of driving. WERU did more than keep us sane, it was truly fantastic community radio. Really eclectic programming (their programming guide includes reggae, R&B, Country, folk, techno, etc, etc,) with friendly kind of folksy DJ’s. Give it a listen on your computer (

WERU is a non-​commercial, volunteer powered, community radio station serving eastern, midcoast and downeast Maine. It offers both music and news programming.
WERU plays an eclectic mix of music that changes every few hours — So check the schedule at
for what’s on at any particular time.
In addition, they will train you for free to be able to produce your own music or public affairs program if you wish, and are willing to take the time to learn. So if you don’t like what you hear, you can do your own show!!!
