I would have certainly given this bar 3 or 4-stars based on previous experiences, but after dealing with an extremely rude bouncer this past week, not only will I not give it 4 stars, but I will NEVER come here again. I came with 9 friends who each took out over a $ 100 cash to be prepared. We showed up at about 10:30PM, after finishing dinner at our house, so it was still quite early in the night. My friends had asked me if they should bring their credit/debit cards, but I told them not to because a) it’s a cash only bar and b) the ATM machine has a $ 10 fee. Why bring your card if you can’t use it and might lose it? We are all young professionals between the ages of 23 – 34. We all work and live in Manhattan. We even felt a little old to be going there, but since it was a supposed to be a fun weekend of dancing and drinking, we figured what better place to dance. My co-worker from France still only has her French ID(since she lives in NYC, she has not found a need to get a NY driver’s license and she has never had an issue in Manhattan using it). Because the bouncers were«confused» about what a French ID is supposed to look like, they asked her for her credit card to validate her ID. She explained that she didn’t bring one since it is a cash only bar. They continued to give her a hard time. Finally, since she was staying with me and her English isn’t perfect, I decided I should also speak with the bouncer to try and explain the situation. Especially since I’ve been coming to this bar for 7 years and have never had an issue. After trying to explain to the bouncer the situation several times, my friend decided to just get in a cab and go home because she didn’t want to ruin everyone’s night or start any issues. I gave her the number for a cab company in case she couldn’t find one on the road, and turned around to head in, as the rest of the 7 people I was with were already inside. What did I get? The bouncer told me that since I was involved, he now wasn’t going to let me in. Even though I had a VALIDNY State DRIVER’S LICENSE and I am, of course, WAYABOVE21. I asked him the reason for not letting me in and he told me, «I don’t have to give you a F****** reason. I don’t like you.» I explained that my boyfriend and friends were already inside to which he replied sarcastically, «Oh yeah, I’m sure you have a boyfriend. Let’s see you call him.» What a nice way to speak to a woman? Since none of my friends would ever stay somewhere where I was being treated that way, they all came out of the bar(yes all 7 of them, one by one) and we left with close to $ 1,000 in our pockets that we easily would have spent there. Instead, we went to John Scott’s where the drinks are cheaper and better, the crowd is much classier, and the bouncers aren’t fat assholes who only keep this job because they are too dense to do anything else. It took us all of 15 seconds for 9 of us to get in at John Scott’s. What a breath of fresh air it was to be treated like a human being! So dear Drift, after many great nights that I have had at your establishment, the way I was treated last weekend has solidified the fact that I WILLNEVERCOMENORBRINGANYONETHEREAGAIN. I will also make sure to tell everyone I know the same story. You may want to have a talk with your bouncers about how they treat people at the door, especially women. (NB: Everyone knows your bar is filled with 18 year olds anyway and I hope to God you get raided one night).

Fun place to go once a summer. We’re getting old for this spot, since most of its guests are still in high school, but it’s still a lot of fun.

Hands down best bar on a Saturday night if you want to dance, be outside and generally go crazy. Bring lots and lots of cash with you since it’s cash only, their drinks are over-priced and their ATM’s have a $ 10 fee. Go before 11PM and there is no cover. We came here with a bachelorette party and the bartenders and bouncers took care of us, we had a great time! Funny list of rules when you walk in too…“no jersey shore”, «no bedazzled shirts», ect…

I’m confused by this place. My friends and I came in from NYC, and got there before 11PM to avoid cover. I think beers were around $ 6, mixed drinks around $ 10. The atmosphere is great. I wish they opened the sand areas at night, as well as during the day. The Coors Light girls were there, so they were doing a free Coors light ice luge all night, which was fun. What really confused me was the music. Talk about high highs and low lows. They would play an amazing song, followed by the worst two songs that I have never even heard before. There was no DJ to be found. My friends and I left by 2AM, since we couldn’t quite get into the vibe. Definitely worth the trip, but I would get there before 11PM to avoid cover. It is really annoying to pay cover when the music is sub-par.

This place is Neptunes during the day and The Drift Inn at night. $ 20 cover charge on a Saturday night, guys and girls. The DJ was an older guy who did not«mix» any songs. There was one Top 20’s song followed by a song nobody knew. CASH-ONLY bar; this place must make a killing. $ 7 mixed drinks in a small plastic cup, $ 14 for a solo cup mixed drink. $ 6 beers. Pick your poison. Regardless it was a fun night because of my company. Quite the typical bar for the Hamptons. I did like that there was an outdoor and indoor space.

This past weekend I was joined by 8 friends for a trip to Drift Inn. I will save you all the references that come to mind and stick to my issue. The bar staff whom knows one of our friends(she dated a former employee) refused to serve us after we had paid $ 180.00 in cover chargers. They also intimidated her to the point of leaving. It was horrific to see a very nice person brought to tears on her vacation. Owners of this establishment should be aware that the employees may have their own agendas. Our group was well behaved, well dressed and willing to spend. It was disappointing night to say the least.

It definitely is a fun place and a great location(right on the beach). But I’m someone who looks for the best deals and prices and this place is NOTIT. Not only did they have a $ 20 cover charge, I ordered Malibu and cranberry juice, I expected maybe around $ 10(just because its a bar out in the hamptons area). Nope, $ 14!!! The drink was pretty strong, but I just cannot see paying $ 14 just for malibu and juice. Normally a drink like that would cost around $ 6 at a bar, therefore I feel $ 14 is absolutely ridiculous. The music is alright, alot of pop/rock songs like Billy Joel type music. Definitely not a club scene. ***ALSO!!! They do not accept credit cards or debit cards! But they won’t tell you that until your indoors. The atm fee is extremely high, make sure you bring cash! ****

I came here with some friends on a Saturday night last summer and had a blast, which is surprising because it’s not really our kind of place. It’s right on the water and you can feel the ocean breeze, which is awesome. There are two bars but drinks are pretty expensive, but I guess that is expected in the hamptons. We seemed to be the younger ones there, if not the youngest. Most people seemed to be in their late 20s or 30s &40s. Many were too muscular for their own good, had popped collars, and that frat-boy/douchebag attitude. But still, I was surrounded by my close friends and had a great time. Without the music, I don’t know if that would’ve been the case. My favorite moment, which I will never forget, is when the DJ mixed 50 Cent’s «In Da Club» and Men At Work’s «A Land Down Under.» It was an amazing and unexpected combination of songs.
