Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I really would like to give them zero stars because I got zero service. I arrived at 4:45 PM which I thought was fine because they close at 5pm and every company I’m aware of serviced you if you get in line before closing. There was only 1 car in front of me so I would not have finished much after 5 but they came out and told me I had to leave because the car in front of me was the last. Not good customer service.

Not sure what the other reviews had going against them but I went there and was in and out super fast with great communication and a knowledgable staff. I will be returning for my oil change here from now on. Thanks guys! You were awesome!

So my dissatisfaction with my last oil change place led me to pull the trigger on the Valvoline Groupon. Upon arrival, an army of guys descends on my car… checking this and checking that. Of course they find an opportunity to upsell… my air filter needed replacement. Given that my car had only 15K miles in generally clean conditions, I pass. A canned second sales pitch was attempted and I again pass. Ok… they perform the oil change. A few minutes later I’m off.
A couple months later I had to bring my car to the dealer. A customary check of the car reveals GUESS WHAT? The air filter had been replaced incorrectly, backwards!
Now I get that selling Groupons for $ 20 oil changes is not going to be an effective business model and that they need to upsell other services. BELIEVE ME, I GET IT. But in putting the car back together after scouting for sales opportunities, YOU DAMNED WELL BETTER DO IT RIGHT!!! Was my engine at risk? Probably not, but it’s certainly not a good thing and it can obviously lead to problems.
In any event, and apart from any potential damage, it greatly reduces my confidence in their performing a basic oil change MUCH LESS any other maintenance they’d be trying to sell me. And now, I’m wondering what else they might have screwed up.
Needless to say, I won’t return to Valvoline and I’m back to searching for some company that, in my opinion, isn’t incompetent.

DO NOT USE THIS VALVOLINE. We had standard oil change done earlier in the week, which turned out to be WELL more than a oil change after they insisted all this work needed to be done. Fine– we took care of the car.
I come home and see I have another $ 3k in unauthorized charges for car parts, and even international charges.

Please read this! I went here and the guy who helped me stole my credit card information! He typed it into the computer, and also asked for my billing address. The next day I had over $ 1800 of unauthorized charges in car parts. I am currently having the police investigate and he will be prosecuted. Do NOT go here for your own safety!

Went here for a coolant flush, told them that im going to replace the thermostat after they did, was told ‘we wont do a flush until you replace the thermostat’ why you ask? Cuz ill spill out all if the new coolant (my mechanic i go to when im unable to do something on my own said get the flush THEN change the thermostat) well i did what they said against my better judgement and got the flush done after putting in a new therm, well guess what, by doing that a piece a junk got stuck in the therm, caused me to overheat on the way home (to PA) cuz my radiator blew and water pump was shot from the heat, got flat bedded to my mechanic to replace those and i was STILL overheating so i replaced the fan relay and yup, STILL overheating yet again… checked the radiator and the top was hot but the bottom wasnt… hmmm i wonder if the therm was bad so i bought a mopar from the stealership and now all was fine so im thinking it was a bad therm UNTIL i looked at the original new one and you guessed it, crap stuck in it not letting it close which is why i wanted the coolant flush done BEFORE putting in a new therm… guess what guys, im never EVER coming to you again, you dont know wtf you are talking about or doing and i hope people read the two raving reviews you have here and dint come to you either

If I could give them no starts I would. Against my better judgement I have visited this oil change service multiple times and cannot remember a time where they did not try to scam me. LADIES, bring a man with you. These guys prey on the fact the most women do not know much about cars. I spent over $ 250.00 there once and was later told I was ripped off. The next time I went back with a new car and had a synthetic oil change (double the price here but not at my dealers) but was told to change the oil again at the usual 3k miles. Synthetic oil lasts twice as long. If you are going to place a stick on my windshield as a reminder, I believe it should be accurate. Scammed again! Here was my last strike. My boyfriend also took his truck there. Less than 3 months ago. While driving home the other day the car starts to shutter so he pulls over and GUESS WHAT? No oil! His car is only used for him to go to work, which is less than five miles from us. After going to the mechanic, he comes to find out there is NO oil in the tank. There was no leak in the lines or anywhere else. The only possible option is that Valvoline never changed the oil. What a waste. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. I am sure your parents raised you with better morals. DO NOT GO HERE! I recommend your dealer or anyone else who has morals.
