Best service and food in East Troy! Great owner who treats his customers well. A great variety, huge portions and extremely reasonable prices. The gyro platter, Reuben and house made Italian beef are to die for! The Friday fish fry is the best kept secret in southern Wisconsin… I would walk 10 miles barefoot for his coleslaw!

Thank you Gus, for fixing up the gyros for us tonight!!! They were delicious and it was enough to feed an army!!! Authentic slices off the rotisserie & yummy, thick tzaziki sauce, thin sliced onions, tomatoes, & toasted pita — so thrilled to find great gyros local!!! If you are ANYWHERE near East Troy, you MUST visit Gus’s!

Stumbled across Gus’s on our way back from Kettle Moraine State Forest. East Troy is such a cute little town with tree lined streets and big older well kept houses. It reminds me of the type of place that you would see in a commercial or political ad as an example of the American Heartland. Gus’s is called a drive in but it isn’t really in the traditional sense of the word, because I think that implies someone coming out to your car in roller skates. Nevertheless it has this cool 50s theme with older music playing and a statue of Elvis in the joint and other décor that fits the agenda. The service is above average and so is the food. I had a very yummy Chicago dog with fries and the Mr. had a cheese burger which he also gave high scores. Although Gus’s is in a small little town their Chicago Dog is on par with some of the best in the Windy City. For dessert I had an extra thick chocolate shake which was also very good. They have plenty of out door seating as well as indoor. After several weeks of going to some really disappointing places Gus’s was a breath of fresh air. No complaints here and I definitely recommend it.

We have been in town for about a year and only wish that Gus’ was open year round! We have visited this drive-in/classic car themed restaurant probably 8 times. The staff are almost always pleasant and the place clean. We have really enjoyed everything that we have had from shakes to patty melts. The Chicago Dog is better and fresher than we can get in Chicagoland!

This place is a favorite with our family! Great to hang out, let the kids have some fun on the video games, the food is good. Place is clean, fast service. My only wish is that they had a few healthier choices on the menu, but nope, it a true old school diner. No fruit, nothing decent for a side, just greasy things like fries. I usually end up packing a couple applesauce cups for the kids to get something healthy into them when we eat here :-) but it’s always a great time.

We had dinner this evening at this fabulous drive in. The food was great and the service was excellent. It is refreshing to go to a locally owned establishment and have such an enjoyable experience. Topped it off with their delicious custard. This place tops our list of best burgers cooked to order. Look forward to our next visit.

Super cute, old school diner/custard shop! Seats both inside and out and they’ll even bring your food out to you. So «Happy Dayish» on the inside :) We just stopped for the custard which was pretty decent but definitely not as good as Kopps or Leon’s. Looks like most people here were getting the malts and burgers. Will have to try those next time. A really nice ride out here though so next time your bored and wanna go for a treat outside of the city, hit this place up!

I broke my diet for this place but it was totally worth it. We got a 4 by 4(that’s a cheeseburger served between 2 grilled cheeses) an Italian beef and some fries and split them. The burger was fantastic, I would totally get that again, and even a normal one on a normal bun would be great. The fries were hot and crispy and great. The Italian beef I’d probably pass on, but that’s because I’d just stick with the burger. Good prices and selection and I would definitely go back. Very friendly service, clean, and good malt shake.

Really fun place to go and so far I have had most things on the menu and have loved each thing. I personally love their choice fries and their fish. Also their burgers and chicken tenders… and the beef sandwich yumm! Ok I like everything. Clean. Good atmosphere. The reason have it four stars is the customer service. The gentleman that seems to be the owner is nice enough. But the girls he employs are super rude, short with you, and have actually rolled their eyes when I asked a question. Other than that. Love the place.

Stopped in for lunch after grandson’s soccer game. Basic diner food, lots of video games, 50’s music and car theme. One of the few places you can get a really great malt! Try it with the kids.

Great custard, burgers and atmosphere. The Saturday night car shows are quite an event– people come from all around for it. Fun spot for an after dinner ice cream run– can’t be beat in East Troy. The 4×4 burger is giant but delicious if you’re looking for a challenge. All around fun spot if you’re looking for a summer treat.

Crazy and chaotic on a Saturday night, but the food was fast and tasty.

A self-proclaimed malt connoisseur, I love Gus’s chocolate malts. I’m glad I live over an hour away, because I’d be getting one every week if it was closer to home. Their food is what you’d expect from a drive-in — good, but full of calories and fat. Guy Fieri should visit Gus’s. It’s a perfect destination for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Bring your country side, and leave the country club side at home on a Saturday night in the summer. Enjoy watching the hot rods, their owners, and run an extra mile or two the next day to burn off that large malt that you couldn’t resist. Yum.

I had a custard cone here, it was A-Ok. I bet they have a good gut bomb burger for you. Give it a try.

Gus’s place is almost a landmark for the saturday night classic car activity. You should come just for that. However, being the lean mean eating machine I am, I had dinner here. I had the broasted chicken. It was fantastic. You will not be sorry.

Great service, good simple American food, and a nice clean place with cool décor. Not open during the winter season, but while open, they do car shows every Saturday.

Go for the fun drive-in atmosphere and great custard. Saturday nights during the summer are cruise night, filling the parking lot with collector cars(regular cars park on the street on cruise night). Food is typical fast food, nothing special. Although the fries are addictive… If you’re in East Troy and looking for fast food, this is your best bet. Closed during the winter.
