First off my fiancé and I wanted a nice one night getaway out of the city so decided why not take a drive and come out to Connecticut. My fiancé found this hotel but I guess we should have consulted Unilocal before we came because the list of complaints we have were incredible. We checked in and was very eager to just jump into the pool for a wonderful night swim but that was delayed to to the fact we changed rooms 3TIMES!!! The first room the sheets had stains on it(and we all know what stains I’m talking about). The second room we prayed was better but noooo there was a CONDOMWRAPPER. yep and that again makes us question the cleanliness of this hotel and the TV didn’t work. We finally go into the the room we stayed in for the night but because it was booked for a wedding so instead of the king size bed we wanted we had to settle for 2 queen size beds. The rooms itself wasn’t spectacular but after our drive we just settled seeing as it was for only one night. Also the pool goes from 3′-9′ in the matter of seconds. NONSWIMMERSBEWARE because I almost died! I used my final breath in me to push myself back to at least 4′. Smh Then we wake up because we understand continentals breakfast isn’t IHOP but what we experienced was far from good. Where do I start *sigh*. We walk in and the first we noticed was lack of food but also the huge hole that was in each slice of bread that was put out. That should have been a clear sign to run but NOOO we stayed. We go around the counter and the eggs were processed and definitely not home made and they only have one waffle maker so you have to stand in line while each person makes there waffle which takes 2:30 a piece. So beware of large families of your extremely hungry but that wasn’t the highlight. They had a little old lady who was in charge of making sure food didn’t run out and everything was replenished that would be great but not when she touched everything as she came out with her bare hands. Not once did she handle the food with gloves. EVERYTIME she came out with the eggs there was something on it that she had to pluck it off ughhhh. She touch everything with her hand and I mean everything she replenished the orange juice and stirred it with the smallest spoon THOUGH like this small so you know her hands definitely touched the juice that everyone was about to drink and she also WITHHERBAREHANDS pushed down the garbage in the trash. Yes the garbage but ironically all we could do was laugh because this experience was so unreal and unbelievable that we found humor in it. But just before we went to our room before we packed up to leave we spoke to the manager but the lack of surprise or care on his face only led us to believe this isn’t anything new for him smh. I needed a hotel close to my home and to the airport for visiting family. I also needed an early morning check in. The staff was so accommodating and I really appreciated that. Many hotels will not allow check in before 3pm. My rate was so reasonable that I was able to extend the visit a day longer. While this is not a luxury hotel, I am giving it five stars because my room had every amenity that we needed, was tastefully decorated and clean(lots of extra towels and a comfy bed), the on site restaurant and lounge was delicious and the pool was large and well kept, all at a budget price. But this hotel’s best feature is its staff who went out off their way on several separate occasions to accommodate my extended family’s needs. Great value! Will use again!

I stayed here using free points while visit Six Flags New England. I would never pay the asking price for this hotel, as it is not worth more than $ 50 a night! It’s very convenient to I-91, and you can see ANDHEAR the highway from your hotel room. The place was hard to find. It used to be Clarion and now it is Rodeway, so they put a chinsy banner over the Clarion sign which is still lit. At night, I DIDNOT see this place at all! I had to slow down and turn down the road using my GPS and there it was. right next to the gas station. The parking lot was super full, but check in and the parking lot is well lit. There is a bar/restaurant attached to the hotel but all the way down. They serve complimentary breakfast in there. I will get to that. When we arrived around midnight, 2 cars of people and some other people outside were screaming and cursing at each other right next to the check in hotel entrance, which is also next to where the bar entrance is. I felt very unsafe in a parking lot at midnight with that going on, so I waited in my car for them to leave. Check in was a breeze, and the lobby is beautiful. IFYOUHAVEALLERGIESTOANYPETS, PLEASESPEAKTOTHEFRONTDESKBEFOREGOINGTOYOURROOM!!! This is a pet friendly hotel, which I would never mind. My sister has severe skin allergies to pet dander, so she cannot sleep in a room that has had animals in it recently. When I asked the front desk clerk, he said ALL of the hotel rooms are booked with pets. Normally, hotels assign certain rooms. This was not the case. He did, however, graciously check for us to see if any pets were in our assigned room recently, and there were not. The room itself is old, dingy, and outdated. The bathroom is so terribly small with very poor lighting. There is no shelf for your things in the shower, nor is there a way to shave your legs(ladies!). The exhaust fan is super loud and rattled the walls. Water pressure was so-so. The carpeting is very old and SUPERSTAINED. I have no idea what it is… maybe beverages, maybe pets soiling, who knows. I just kept my socks on. The beds… the white sheets and white pillow cases had old stains in them, as if they were already washed and dried several times without addressing the stains. While I understand they are essentially CLEAN, it is still disgusting to have to see. One of the bedspreads had cigarette burn holes in it… and we stayed in a non-smoking room since I have tobacco allergies. Go figure. There was a balcony with a sliding door… not much to see other than cars and a dumpster. LOTS of highway noise. No alarm clock. You do get a microwave, small mini fridge, TV, small desk, hair dryer, and coffee maker. The beds are very comfortable, despite looking gross. Breakfast was delicious. Typical cereal, egg patties, brown and serve sausage, toast, english muffins, bagels, waffle maker, orange juice, and coffee. Nothing spectacular but enough to fill you up and hit the spot before you leave. The was a wonderful elderly woman who never missed a beat! She always had everything filled and catered to anybody that asked her questions. While I never needed anything from her, I still tipped her. For a busy Saturday morning, she only had $ 3 in tips in her jar. DON’T BESTINGYANDTIPTHEHARDWORKINGWOMAN!!! Overall, it’s worth a cheap or free night, maybe some Choice points… but I would never spend more than $ 50 – 60 a night on a place like this. I only recommend it for being a great place to stay for anything local or to go to Six Flags. It was 15 minutes up the highway and close to get it. Very convenient for traveling.
