Driving through Toccoa we stopped here for lunch. The food was good by fast food standards and delivered in a decent time. The staff was very friendly greeting us at the door and wishing us well as we left. The location was also very well maintained. We watched one of the crew clean their tables literally from top to bottom. We don’t eat fast food often but we’d happily come back to this place.

Well I’ll be. I thought I’d never be writing a review on a fast food chain quite like this one, but I’m here doing it. I will have to admit I’ve never crossed the threshold of a Captain D’s before and I rarely do fast food. But I needed a quick meal and so I ran in to check it out. I was surprised to find a fairly nice interior, adorned in ship and nautical items — fairly well done, not too cheesy. Ok good start. The menu has a good mix of friend and grilled, and they have all kinds of fish and shrimp, not just your scrod and cod but catfish, tilapia, etc. Most of the prices are in the 5 – 8 $ range for the meals. Now mind you I wouldn’t put my meal up to a high class seafood establishment, but for this price point it’s way above average seafood. I’ll be back!

So we enter this location on a Saturday evening after leaving Walmart. This location has a speaker system set up outside that was announcing the UGA/Kansas game. This was a wonderful surprise for my boyfriend as I’d had him out all day at the Outlet and he had missed most of the day’s college football games. To my surprise Captain D’s has really come up. They have Surf and Turf on the menu, a waitress came by to refill our beverages and check on us, and you instantly know when you meal is ready now when your little device starts to vibrate. The food was no different from the last time I ate at Captain D’s, about 5 years. But it was nice and hot and reasonably priced. I will try the Grilled Fish the next time I stop by. And the restroom was clean as well.
