Always delivered on time, always affordable. These guys make doing business locally as easy as it should be. They have 100% gained a customer for life ! I literally cannot say enough good things ! They helped match my driveway gravel PERFECTLY and spoke to me as if i was family, not just another customer.

A while back, I was looking for some sand for my daughter’s sandbox. Because I wanted to purchase from a local business, I contacted Amber at Brewster Sand & Gravel. She was very helpful in helping me decide which of the options she had would be best suited for my needs. The price she gave me was very competitive versus other bigger yards, as was the delivery charge. The delivery of the the sand went fine as well. Being located in Eastham, Amber’s driver delivered the load of sand to Centerville, in the middle of the summer, right when she said he would. The driver was polite and courteous and made sure he took the least intrusive way through my backyard to the play area. He was also extremely gracious in taking delivery and placement instructions from the three year old site foreman that happened to up from her nap. She was so pleased with the job he did that she gave him a thumbs up and started spreading the sand around before he even had the dump body down! The bottom line, is that even being thirty miles away, I wouldn’t hesitate using Brewster Sand & Gravel again. From the initial contact to the day of delivery, the process was painless and the price was right in the money.

I spontaneously bought a garden plot at the community garden this year. I might as well have spontaneously bought a human baby, I’m so clueless. But the internet told me I needed compost, so I was determined to get compost. Unfortunately, the internet is very vague about how one gets compost, unless you’re making your own. Then the internet is happy to give you all sorts of advice. Thus I found myself googling, «where to get compost on cape cod.» Brewster Sand & Gravel was the first choice. Once I got on B&G’s website, I got a better idea of what I was looking for. Plus they have nifty yardage calculators so you can figure out exactly how much of whatever you need. I compared them to other sites and the prices looked reasonable, so I made up a little list of questions and prepared to make first compost contact. There is a physical building somewhere, but they’re in Eastham(why does it say Brewster? Why???) so I just called. I left a message and got a call back within the hour. The girl on the phone(Amber maybe?) was SO awesomely nice. She made me feel comfortable, she answered all my questions, she was upfront. Honestly, after one phone conversation I knew I was going to buy from them, based on customer service alone. I ended up ordering some obscene amount of compost for delivery(I was splitting with a friend. Delivery fee was $ 40). Nice phone woman and I figured out the date and time that best worked for me and sure enough, that Saturday an adorable little construction truck came lumbering up the Harwich Community Garden path, loaded with a pile of beautiful dark screened leaf ‘post.(can I call it ‘post? does that make me sound cool?) The delivery guy was awesome too. He was so friendly, especially considering I had reached my neurotic threshold and was basically staring wide-eyed and shrugging when he asked where to dump it. He even split the load so half of it got dumped near my garden plot, then the rest was dumped near my friend’s plot! I offered him a tip and he turned it down, saying, «You use that money to buy yourself some nice plants.» Omg. Like I said, the compost they sent is rich and dark and beautiful. It spread wonderfully and my plants are loving it. I’ve already recommended B&G to several people at the Community Garden… bcs they saw my compost and asked about it!

The owner of this business was EXTREMELY rude to me. I had gone there, about a 20 mile drive, to specifically choose the gravel I wanted to match my driveway. A delivery truck came with a totally different colored stone. When I wanted to give him a sample of my driveway so he would return with the right match, he replied«I know exactly what you want». A week or so before, he had delivered a load of stone dust that was like powder. I was not home when it was dumped on my driveway. I decided to use it even thought it was not at all what I wanted or needed and my landscape gardener said, «You’ve been screwed»! So when that was all washed away in a storm, I paid a VISIT to the merchant to ENSURE that I would get the right material to replace the fine powder that was unsuitable. They refunded me the cost of the items, but not the delivery fee, although nothing was delivered! I am filing a dispute with my credit card company. The worst aspect of this experience was the VILE language spat at me by Amber. There is never any need to treat a customer like I was treated and that has caused enough ill will for me to post this review. Who says to a customer, CUTTHECRAP! and worse?
