Nini’s Ristoranti

Been a favorite spot since I was little, traveled back from CT to have it. Went out with family and we had a great time with great service. The Alfredo is a favorite along with the house ranch dressing. We will always be coming back here.

Basic enough fare. Staff is nice but food is wildly buttered up to the sky. Like anything buttery, you’re seduced from the off but then start to view your food with disdain and the more you eat, the more there seems to eat and you start to feel off-​color. Ah look it, they also failed the meatball test. You gotta nail your meatball in an Italian restaurant. I was sorry to say it was a bland meatball. The meatball is the blank canvas for an Italian restaurant. It’s where you paint your masterpiece. Nini’s has overlooked this. It’s very rich heavy food and there’s lots of it. But you might not be willing to have the rest for lunch during the week.

This place seemed like one of the better restaurants in Easthampton, and their website was polished and boasted «classic Italian cuisine», so we decided to give it a go. Huge disappointment. All the dishes tasted like something out of an average American restaurant on the side of a road; the portions were huge (obviously American sized) and crudely made; everything mostly tasted bland but salty. Never again.

Slow. Slow. Slow. Pizza took ½ hour to come out and it had a ton of cheese and skimpy toppings. The service was a joke.

I love Nini’s! It’s actually been several years since I’ve eaten in the dining room… but back in the day, they had the best puttanesca around apart from my step-mother’s! This review is for the takeout pizza. It is terrific. Always fresh, with that special crunch to the crust that I love. I have small hands and, while sometimes it’s nice to have a sloppy greasy borderline-​unmanageable slice that reminds me of childhood, Nini’s gets the car-​worthy nod. Meaning that even with my little hands, I can pick up a large slice and eat it in the car on the way home because it stands up on its own rather than the front half flopping over and dropping toppings and cheese everywhere.
p. s. All of the toppings are great, but both the hamburger and sausage are particularly good quality.

Great food, wonderful service, lovely ambiance. But reliably flat beer. Fix the taps!

We usually just do take out pizza from Nini’s and I will say that the pizza has to be the best in the area. We have been getting pizza here for years and have not had one negative experience yet, nor have we gotten sick of it. Absolutely love this place and I highly recommend it!

This is the only Italian restaurant in the area. Sure, there are plenty of pizza shops, but that doesn’t really count. This is an actual fancy sit-​in restaurant. The food isn’t that good frankly, it seems a bit cheap compared to the setting of the restaurant, which promises more. It is good enough for when you crave Italian and don’t feel like cooking, as it is tasty junk food… at the price of about a fast food meal. The dishes are a bit thrown together, the meatballs taste like they’re frozen microwaved meatballs, the pizza tastes like frozen pizza. I’ve ordered take out from them half a dozen times, and every single time without fail, they get the order wrong. Last time, the bread was stale and the salad was beyond sloppy. The more I remember my experiences and food there, the lower I want to rate this restaurant, but it fills a need because there aren’t any italian fast food restaurants out there, and if there were it would taste like this.

Coming from Boston I can honestly say this place could rival any place in the North End. The waitstaff and atmosphere is okay but the food is amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but I highly recommend the eggplant rollatini.

Our recent visit was a good one to Nini’s. I had stuffed shells with a meatball and sausage on the side. There sauce is outstanding and both the meatball and sausage were very good. The stuffed shells with ricotta cheese mix and mozzarella on top was also pretty good. Wife had the Chicken Milano (I think) and was quite pleased with it with the only exception that she asked for no mushrooms but it came with them anyways. The waiter apologized and offered to redo it but wife said it was no problem. Salad and Bread were great too. Nice warm bread with olive oil dip.
Kids got Pepperoni pizza and I tried a bit and it was pretty good also.
Service was timely and attentive to our needs and we were seated quickly and served promptly.
All in all we like the place for decent Italian food. Not 5 star but just plain old good home style cooking. Good beer and wine selection too! We go there every once in a while as we live nearby. I recommend it! Been there since 1905 so lots of history.

Our friends live in town and took us here. We were planning on having an inexpensive pizza dinner but my fiancé and I decided against the pizza (no one can top NY pizza) and chose pasta dishes.
The place was packed but there was a decent bar area, in which we grabbed some drinks. By the time we sat down, we were all sweating, it was as if they cranked the heat. I knew we weren’t crazy because I heard other diners complaining about it.
I read on Unilocal that the service was slow. Yep! This is true. The waitress didn’t even come by to take our plates away. It was like she was oblivious to the fact that they were sitting there taking up space for our main course.
I did not care for mine. A filetto sauce is supposed to be light with chunks of tomato, this was a thick sauce with tomato and too many spices. My guess is they used too much oregano (which I can not stand) and maybe too much sugar?. Just reminded me of jarred sauce or something with some chunks of tomato. But maybe I am just being picky because I enjoy my home made sauce over most. My fiancé liked his, but thought it was weird that Broccoli Rabe was not an option. Most Italian restaurants by us offer sausage and broccoli rabe, but he said his was good (with the broccoli).
Our friends got pizza. It looked pretty good but I wasn’t a huge fan. I think because I didn’t care for Nini’s sauce, it would make sense why I wasn’t into the pizza. My fiancé called it prego pizza.
I am giving it 2 stars simply for the fact that the temperature made us all uncomfortable, and the service was very slow. I am not a food snob and I give everything a chance, and just because we didn’t love everything, maybe this might be the best pizza in the area. I am curious to try some others!

Sometimes the service is iffy. I kind of liked ordering delivery when I used to live in Easthampton. But their Tortellini Portofino is to die for. I love it. It is so wonderful. I definitely need to make a trip back to Nini’s when I’m back in Wmass to fill my face with this wonderful deliciousness. Yumm yumm yummy!

I like nini’s. Their food is pretty good but expensive. My biggest gripe with them is the service. Every single time I have come in I have been left standing by the door for 10 minutes waiting to be sat, or if by some miracle I have been sat it takes another 10 minutes to get acknowledged by a server. This place could be a lot better if they had consistent service and consistent hours (I have gone a few times only to find they aren’t open despite their business hours saying they would be) I think they have managed to stay afloat for so long based on the loyalty of the locals and their awesome homemade pasta sauce.

My favorite pizza in Easthampton. The crust is thick and chewy, which is what I prefer. Their main dishes are pretty good too
The lounge side of the restaurant is low-​key and has a kind of charm.
Salads and fresh bread are wonderful.
