I am so disappointed. That is an understatement. I am angry that I wasted my money here. We have eaten there before and dinner was great, service was great and we returned for that reason. We will start with the greeting, when we came in, Kevin who had waited on us two times previously told us to just pick any table instead of leading us to a table which is fine but kind of odd in terms of keeping up with service. He brought us water and menus. Our server leslie was not unpleasant at first but she was wearing a jacket, an outdoors type north face jacket the whole time. Also odd. She sat down on the piano bench to take our order and put her feet up on the bench. I thought perhaps at one point she was going to lay out and take herself a nap. Drinks and appetizers came out in a timely fashion. Shrimp cocktail was not as cold as it should be and salads were a little, nay a lot, overdressed. We asked for more bread and in the meanwhile the food came out. Portions were very generous, they should really look into their food cost, with the over dressing of salads and huge meals, I bet it is outrageous. but food was not as good as I remembered from last time. My husband needed another soda and leslie said she would be back in a minute with the drink. Up until this point she had been attentive and pleasant. We did not see her again until the bitter end. My husband stopped eating because he had no beverage. His food got cold. And we waited. And waited. Leslie chatted with some other folks and what appeared to be a friend of hers who had stopped by. And we waited And waited. She came back finally and asked if we wanted boxes. No drink. No bread. My husband said«you forgot two things. Our bread and my coke. «she grabbed his coke glass and disappeared again and brought us the boxes. Meanwhile he really needed the beverage. When he said«can I have another coke please?» She said she didn’t know he wanted it because he asked for boxes and the check. And bread was frozen so she didn’t bring that because it wasn’t ready. So now she goes to the back and retrieves my husband’s dirty glass and fills it with coke and brings it back. Clearly the glass is dirty and because it has been in the back… how can we know it’s even his glass to begin with? Needless to say he did not drink it. Meanwhile we still don’t have the check. So we ask for that And she brings it and runs away. Now she is outright snippy and curt. So my husband had his card ready and puts it in the book right away. She is gone again. Who knows where. She comes back out and stops at another table. Then comes back and grabs the check. She returned with the credit slips and no pen. So my husband asks for a pen and says«how can I leave you a tip without a pen? «she seemed mystified by this concept. So she brings him a pen and he says«you do want a tip, right? «anyways the pen didn’t work. So I dug one out of my purse. For the record… the bill was 57 dollars we left her a 10 dollar tip. Better than 15 percent but way less than the 25 to 30 percent we usually leave. Also for the record, I spent more than 20 years of my life in the restaurant business. Many of those years serving. This was deplorable. Leslie, although a pleasant human being should indeed consider another line of work. If I was her boss she would be retrained. If I was her trainer I would suggest another job that was more appropriate. I’m pretty sure we won’t be back. The worst part is that our intention was to have dessert and coffee but their dessert menu posted out front didn’t look too exciting so we decided to have my birthday dinner early. 43 sucks and so did this. The star I am giving is only because Unilocal didn’t let me leave zero stars.
