1818 is a great neighborhood tavern. Atmosphere is Cozy, Clean and Welcoming. The bartenders are knowlegeable and attentive. The servers know their menu and daily specials. The service is steady and the drinks are excellent! Above Avg. Bar Food. Been coming here for a long time without any issues… Mature clientel and safe environment. If you want rowdy, profane and loud… Dont Come Here!

Restaurant is a little small and dark, but the food is excellent. The 1818 burger is delicious! Staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable.

Very busy for a Wednesday night. A lot of steady clientele. First time here and ordered the burger. Nothing outstanding or out of the ordinary but will come back to try more dishes on the menu.

Martinis are great. But seems every time we go is crowded and we can barely fit at the bar. The owner sits and drinks with the patrons alot. But not very welcoming. Old only go on a slow night order apps and sit at the bar. The dinners are nothing special.

It was better than I expected from the exterior– it looks super dicey. The food is definitely better than expected too. They definitely put a lot into embellishing a simple dish. What ruined it– the restaurant had a very awkward 3 drink max policy(apparently they pride themselves on their martinis). After a very large food bill we invited more friends to join us as we were enjoying ourselves. So awkward and weird when the bartender wouldn’t serve us original guests because we had reached their«3 martini rule». However the bartender told us if we «finished the nachos» we’d be allowed another drink. What?! So awkward! A few people at the restaurant were surprised and laughed with us. We’ll never be back. For a person that can hold 3 martinis/drinks(all of us at the time) after a full $ 100 meal, this is a terrible business policy. Good luck to you. Will never recommend to a friend or business associate.

Anne P. The same thing happen to me about a year ago! I was there with a good friend for dinner and drinks and I ordered a glass of sangria and it came out tasting like a sour glass of Lambrusco from years gone by. I mentioned to the waitress that it does taste right and I would like something else. She said I can take it away but you have to pay for it! What! I asked to talk with the manager and she tasted and said there is nothing wrong with it. I explained I have had many sangria in my life and it never tasted one like that before. She insisted I pay for the bad sangria! I said for $ 6.50 you are losing a customer and she said for that little you should pay for it! I can’t believe the customer service in this place. I have put a life time ban on the 1818 house for me and my family! Ridiculous! Obviously no one ever went to restaurant/hospitality school at this joint!

I’ve seen some horrid experiences and decided to share my own. We had a similar experience there last year. My husband ordered a drink and went to the bathroom… Came back and ordered a different one Bc he didn’t like the one he had ordered. The bartender rudely announced that she would not serve him since he «couldn’t remember» he ordered one already. When I questioned her on it she rudely interrupted me and told me if I didn’t like it, I would be cut off as well. My husband and I own a local restaurant right up the street and I advised that we would never speak to our patrons the way she had just spoken to me. She told me … If I didn’t like it get out and she would call the cops. I was appalled that she would even speak to us the way she had. My husband and I were regular visitors being that we were trying to support a local business. This was the owners daughter. So sad and if they ever set foot in our restaurant that I know of … You better believe they will be turned away. The wait staff whom have served us multiple times even apologized as were were getting«kicked out» of the bar Bc they knew she was wrong. Have never stepped foot back there nor do I miss it. That place is terrible!

The service here is horrendous and the food is low quality very bland bar food! This was an experience from hell and this story is a must read. I have NEVER had such poor service and humiliation. As if it was a game to them. I don’t know how they treat their customers this way and are still in business. I can say that there is only one very nice waitress at this place, unless you get her, the service is horrible and you’re treated as though you are a bother to them. Dicks Last Resort treats you better and the premise of that restaurant is for the staff to be rude and obnoxious to customers. Let me start by saying, we were patronizing this place for 5 years, only because it was a local place to get a variety of martinis. We always went with a large group 4 — 12 people. You’d think we would be treated better than how we were treated. Firstly, they will not allow you to make reservations for less than 8 people. Because their food isn’t good, it’s hard to get a group of 8 to go for dinner, normally, we can only get 4 to 6 to actually want to eat dinner there. Good thing the martinis are strong so you can get the food down. Given that we only had 6 people to get there for dinner, two of us show up, and there is a table of 6 available. They would not let us sit there before the rest of our party arrived. We even told the hostess that we wanted to order some appetizers and order drinks. She would not let us, and indicated they can’t hold the table, that if someone else with 6 comes in, they get the table. So we waited 10 minutes in the cold waiting area, two other friends showed up, we asked if we could sit yet, the other couple was about 5 minutes away. Nope we have to wait, as the waiting area gets more crowded, this table sits there empty. So when our last two friends showed up, we are finally seated. The waitress who barely smiled quickly piled menus on the table. Ultimately she came back and took our drink orders. My friend and I both ordered a pumpkin martini. If you drink a pumpkin martini, they have a limit of two martinis, even if you get a different martini. My friend and I both finished the martini as we ate our appetizers and tasteless dinners. It was at least an hour after drinking my martini and a glass of water, I ordered another pumpkin martini, which was the last one they had and no more available until next year at this time. I took a few small sips of this second martini, at which point my stomach was upset so I did not drink it and continued drinking another glass or two of water. During this time, I gave my friends on the table some of the martini, we got an extra glass and poured about a quarter of it into this glass, as some spilled onto the table. My friends shared the rest. The point is, I didn’t drink this martini. About an hour later(we were now there 4 hours); I asked what was in the«Banana Nut Bread Martini». The waitress rudely stated that I can’t have another martini. I indicated to her that I didn’t drink that last one. So my husband ordered the martini anyway, she still didn’t tell us what was in it, just gave it to him, and told me I couldn’t drink any of it. Absolutely ridiculous! We were seated at the table at 6:15PM, it is now after 10:00PM, more than 3 hours and 2 glasses of water after the one pumpkin martini that I drank, and I was clearly not intoxicated. So I took a sip of my husband’s Banana Nut Bread Martini, which seemed to be no more than a milkshake. One of the waitresses came over, and rudely grabbed it off the table. We advised them that we are not paying for it. They slap a check in front of us with the rest of our friend’s martinis although we all requested separate checks. This check included the $ 8 for the one they took away from us, that only a small sip came out of! We refused to pay it, and the girls fought us, insisted that we pay it because we ordered it. Rightfully so, we adamantly refused, and they threatened to call the cops. We told them go ahead and call the cops, and both my husband and I said we’d even take breathalyzers. As we sat there and waited for the cops, one of the rude waitresses came out, slapped a new bill on the table, and told us she took it off, and that we are ALL banned from ever coming in there again. Good Riddance! I never planned on going back there again after the way we were treated! Oh, and I can’t forget to mention, I went into the Ladies Room, and the trashcan was overflowing with paper towels, and the floor was covered with water leading from the toilet(I presume it wasn’t just water). Absolutely disgusting! Needless to say, I didn’t use the facility after seeing that! I would not recommend this place to anyone and they have lost many customers due to this experience. Word of mouth travels fast and my weekly friend gatherings will be frequenting another local small business that will treat us with appreciation and respect!

We have been here numerous times in the last three years. The food is always good and the menu has a lot to choose from. The martinis are awesome as well! They have tons of choices!

Went here after a movie for a drink and some snacks. Great beer selection, cool vibe and friendly crowd/bartenders. We had the tasty crab spring rolls and the Wally Style wings(delicious though spicier than we expected.) All in all, a great place, leagues above any of the chain restaurants in the area where one might grab a drink.

The menu has a good amount of variety, and several items that I’ve never seen before, which is a rarity. I must say that the staff provided great service both times I was here, and the food was excellent. I WILL be back!

Will definitely come back. Saturday night was pretty crowded, but we took a table right by entryway that another couple passed up. Was just fine! The spring rolls app was a little greasy for me, and all our food came out at once, but I really enjoyed my candied walnut spring salad with added shrimp. Homemade balsamic was amazing! Husband though this burger was just okay. Glad we tried here. We’ll be back!

This place is awesome. Bring your vodka drinking shoes because they have martinis for days. The food is good too, but the drinks are why I come.

Terrible service. Owner is Nasty and over indulges at the bar. Throws paper towel rolls at the patrons. Poor service and hostile atmosphere. Find another place — Recommend the Slate Quarry Hotel about 5 miles away. Much better atmosphere and friendlier staff.

The food was excellent, the bartender was friendly, and they have 35 martinis from which to choose! A little bit of sticker shock when first viewing the menu, but after ordering the bruchetta appetizer and loving it, we got over it. MR’s burger was huge and delicious and my cocoa almond cranberry salad was amazing! Who would think to put cocoa covered almonds in a salad? What a good call! My martinis($ 8.50 each) were so good… I had a mangotini and a dark chocolate cherry martini, yum! They were a decent size too for that price. Love, love the décor and overall ambiance of this place. Thumbs up!
