I will always choose a family run operation over a corporate chain. The family business cares about your meal and experience where the help at corporate chains are more worried about their next bag of weed.

Had dinner with friends here a few weeks ago. It’s difficult to rate the ambience and noise level, since we were there kinda early on a Saturday, like 5PM. I think that by a certain time, the place is more of a bar than a restaurant(evidenced by the pool tables and arcade games, which includes pinball, yay!) Dinner was okay. Curly fries were good. Chicken fingers were cooked through, but the breading was a bit light in color. Served on lettuce, so my chicken fingers had a bit too much of lettuce taste. Overall, the 4 of us found our selections to be satisfactory. We noticed that sides of french fries seemed to be rather skimpy. I had heard about their great steak sandwiches, but it’s not like I went with great expectations. Uhhh… where’s the beef? Nice crispy steak roll, plenty of provolone(which I had requested), but the meat was really lacking. What gave this restaurant 4 stars instead of 3 was the excellent service. Bear in mind that it was relatively early, there were only two other dining parties in the room, so that might be why our friendly waitress was so attentive. Regardless, she knew what she was doing. Food was served hot and promptly, and there was only 1 «how is everything» interruption(in my opinion, if you disrupt my meal more than once, you are just annoying, so 1 is the perfect number). Coffee after dinner was a very nice cup, it was refreshing that our server brewed a fresh pot. I’ve been to some places where they’ll serve whatever has been on the burner all day, so it was thoughtful of her to do this. Restaurant is very much updated since my last visit, although some of the seats are still patched with duct tape and the table, wobbly. But a big part of me makes me feel as though this is part of Stemie’s charm, and too much updating and too much formality will undo part of the attraction. Overall, a good visit, and I look forward to trying their breakfast. Didn’t see any ghosts :-(maybe next time!

This is a great place to eat along the Delaware river. My husband and I go here as often as we can. They serve a giant cup of Coffee. Breakfast is tasty and reasonably priced. They also have a small arcade area for the kids. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. For those who are interested in the paranormal, it is also said that the place is haunted. I have not personally experienced anything over the years, but they are in a book called haunted places of the lehigh valley.

Went here for breakfast today, food was good. Huge cup of java. Service was fine. Only thing is the outside & walking into the place is a bit dirty & looks like it could be freshened up a bit.

Great service and friendly atmosphere. Stopped here for a Saturday lunch. Great steak sandwich and outstanding stuffed pepper soup. It sounded like something we might not like but with the waitresses suggestion, we tried it and it was delicious. The outside of the restaurant is not too inviting however the inside is warm and welcoming. The menu is complete and the prices are very reasonable. I am unsure how Stemie’s stays in business at these prices. Highly recommended as a stop on the way to New Hope, Peddler’s Village, or Rice’s Market.

This place has the best breakfast I have ever had! A quirky restaurant located on the Delaware River– They are open for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner– they also have entertainment on the weekends– Krazy Karaōke with DJ Jonny is the best! They also feature Tommy Zito about once every 2 months or so!
