Not even worth the 1STAR! I am still struggling to get my hair corrected since my haircut here back in April. Even after confronting them with my issues, they attempted to do ONE corrective cut in May and here we are now in August and my hair still looks terrible. Even going to other salons their suggestion is to let it grow out… It doesn’t lay right and that proves that it was a terrible haircut. Run far away from this salon and find somewhere else. Oh, by the way my cut was NOT cheap! Over priced salon for sure and very poor customer service!

I only give it 1 star because I have to at least do that. Received a Brazilian Blow Out to help with a haircut gone bad. The cut looked good for about 2 weeks — hair stylist had cut my hair about 5−8x’s prior. Should have known my hair and capabilities. Even after telling the stylist about not being happy with Blow out about 1 week later, going in so she could style it and see it(did not look good when I left), complained again to her and then called salon directly, they had me come in again and someone else tried to recut hair… looks better but still not acceptable. Can only correct so much with a short hair cut. Call salon on Tuesday and they just returned call on Thursday saying they were not going to refund $ because past 2 weeks… Really stylist was told 1 week after and I was in 2x’s after that. Poor, POOR service. I understand and could have probably forgiven if they had refunded a service that wasn’t correcting the problem. So really take my advice… Stay far FARAWAY!!!

Please, please PLEASE do –NOT– go here for eyelash extensions. I’m originally from LA/OC area in California and the typical price for great lashes is around 80 – 170. They charge $ 200 here. The lady that does lashes has taken a one day class to learn the skill– which is not a valid qualification. $ 200 later the lashes look like a five year old ripped apart some strip lashes and superglued them onto my eyes. They’re falling out everywhere. It’s a scam. I don’t care if this is the«only» place nearby that does lashes– don’t settle for this crazy service. Drive somewhere else and actually GET what you pay for… Unless you like giving salons $ 200 for nothing.

I had moved from the Morris County NJ area and needed to find a new stylist/salon to service my needs. As someone who is EXTREMELY particular about my hair, I was hesitant to make a move. It has now been 4 years since I started going to Tangles! During that time there have been various changes in ownership, staff, and overall quality of service. Some of the negative reviews here were written while the salon was under its former ownership. Lora the new owner, and all of the girls here do an excellent job of understanding their clients needs, and providing stellar customer service from the front desk person to every stylist on the floor. I am always very pleased with my hair when I leave this salon and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Alyssa does my hair. I have two big ugly scar on the side of my head from a brain tumor surgery I had when I was fourteen years old. For the first time since then she gave me the courage to cut my hair short again and I love it! I’m also balding and overweight and she figured out a way to make me look faaaabulous just at a glance! Ever since she gave me the haircut I have had the courage and self confidence to get laid by several different women simultaneously. Thank you for everything Alyssa!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I received a Brazilian wax there and it wasn’t until halfway through that the lady told me she was still getting certified. She didn’t finish because she burnt me and left wax. I had a horrendous experience here. Maybe they are better known for their haircuts because they can’t possibly be for their waxing.

After reading the other reviews, I felt compelled to write one myself. Yes the building is older, and I often can hear the creaking of the stairs but its just an older house which is very normal for this area. The place is very nicely decorated, and the staff is average in friendliness and knowledge. They always smile, and meet what ever needs I may have. I have never had any problems. However, the owner is wonderful! She is personable, and friendly. She goes out of her way to make customers feel good. Overall, I recommend them highly.

I look like a poodle. My Hair is a frizzy mess. I have been getting perms for ages now and I have never had an issue. My regular hairdresser left her salon and moved out of state so now I am stuck trying to find a new hairdresser. I decided to try it because of the location(it was close to work). The front desk girl is beyond rude. She didnt even smile. I walked in and told her I had an appointment and she just gave me a look and told me to sit down. My hairdresser was nice but she told me that she was going to try to do them so they are more like a loose curl — I believed her and thought that she knew what she was doing. Clearly I was wrong. When she took my hair out of the curlers, it was knotting up. She threw product in it and then just smiled. While I sat and waited for the chemicals to work, I got to listen about what three of the other stylists did over the weekend and let me tell you, they had fun. It was so awkward. There was hair all over the floor. I could see spider webs near the windows by the washing station and the towels they gave me were spotted with bleach and old looking. When I walked back up to the front desk, the front desk girl just told me the amount and took my card, it was to my knowledge then that it hit me how overpriced they are. It is insane how expensive everything is. She snarled at me and asked if I wanted to leave a tip INFRONTOFTHEHAIRDRESSER! — clearly I had to say yes, I had no choice. She then simply said«re-schedule?» I said no, took my card, and left. Now my hair is a mess. My hair is a huge frizzball and is a huge knot. I need to wait an entire year until I get normal hair back.

Very professional and friendly service. Andrea is extremely accommodating and manages a first rate salon and spa. Have never had a bad experience and have recommended Tangles to others. Not the least expensive but you get more than what you pay for in results and in the experience that the stylists bring to their jobs. When you walk in the door you feel as if you are with friends!

DONOTGOHERE! This place is disgusting. It’s highly over-priced. First of all, it’s located in a run-down building that hopes to look chic by painting some shapes on the side. But I tried to keep an open mind. My friend got me a gift certificate months ago, so I finally decided to try it before it expired. Entering the«business» was like walking into the back of someone’s house. Through the door and to the front desk, I was taken upstairs for my «European Facial». The first thing that hit me was the odor of cigarettes. I have an allergy to cigarette smoke and I told the woman showing me to the room to wait for the«expert». She informed me it was probably from outside. I told her it smelled like it was inside, she just shrugged, and left me in a small room with a crappy little couch and a desk. Then came the«expert». This woman is a mess. Regardless, I should have left when I saw the length of her nails. She was wolverine’s sister. How could she give facials with nails like that? How sanitary could it be? Unfortunately, I ended up staying. Huge mistake. I filled out the invasive questionnaire and was taken to a dark, dank room with one reclining chair and a disgusting odorous fusion of mold and cigarette smoke. There was some weird, new-age music playing, the sound of water, and the crashing and bumping music from the hair salon downstairs. After changing into a towel, she told me to lay down and proceeded to mess up my face. She told me she wouldn’t tell me what she was using, and would judge herself what I needed and do whatever she thought was best. She just kept using products high in salicyc acid. I don’t have acne, it was just incredibly painful and useless. Then she kept washing my face with the same«cleanser» that smelled like old cigarettes and some pumpkin face mask that kept burning. I just wanted it to end. Every time she cleared my face, I sighed relief, but she just turned around and put another mask on. Does she think that’s what a facial is? Where did she get her training? When I tried to ask her questions, she kept the answers brief and extremely curt. Customer service is a horror. At the end of this entire process, she tried to sell me more of their gross products and gave me some crappy booklet with their entire line of products. Then she had the gall to schedule me, without consulting me, for an appointment in two months. Yeah right, I’m sure I’ll be there with bells on. The cashier then told me that my gift certificate was expired, even though there was a large-font date on the front that still had six months left on it. She then informed me that she would«be a minute». OMG. Try another half hour. WTF is wrong with these people? And then, she told me she would accept the gift certificate but I had to pay the difference. The gift certificate was for $ 90.00, I got the basic facial, and she over-charged me. At this point, I wanted to LEAVE. I paid the difference and then she had the GALL to ask me to leave a tip. I told her no. My face was still throbbing from the idiot poking at it for two hours. All in all, I will never go here again. I have high doubts as to the sanitary conditions of this place. And wonder why it hasn’t been shut down. My face actually broke out in certain areas and took approximately a week to heal.
