Worst experience EVER!!! I had what should have been a 4 hour move tops. 1 couch, queen bed, dresser and mirror, coffee, and small dinning room table, all the rest was boxes. They sent two guys(one really bc the second was so big he was about to have a heart attack anytime he carried anything), it took them 4 hour to load and unload a small moving truck. On the second load my friend and I personal loaded both our cars ourself, and reorganized their van bc of all the useless space they left. In a half hour we did more that they did in 2 hours. They didn’t even get to finish moving all my stuff bc they were two hours late and took so long. They also messed up the walls in my stairway so bad that they need to be repainted and put holes in them. I had to argue with there boss for 15 minutes about the price and still paid way too much for the service. Take my advice hire someone else.

The company sent three movers. We had never used a moving company before, and this company had come recommended by an acquaintance through a mom’s group. They never took an inventory of our items(I’ve since learned this is standard operating procedure), so they were not prepared for our move. While the three employees worked very hard, they caused damage to several pieces of our furniture, two appliances that were less than a year old, and gouged our floors and our walls. They lost the bolts to our recliner, rendering it useless, sitting in two parts in our house. The worst part? They tried to hide it from us and failed to let us know the damage had occurred. The owner, Jeremiah Upshur, came to our home to see the damage, and sent his handyman out to fix the sofa, the walls and the floor. The job is not completed, and Jeremiah left the country on 11/29, and has not responded to our last email. The handyman had to reschedule, and has yet to come in and finish the job he started in fixing the damage to our home. The owner refused to file an insurance claim on the damaged appliances. We made a settlement offer of buying our appliances, minus depreciation, and taking the damaged items to recoup some of the costs(they would fetch approximately half of retail on Craigslist). Here is his email in response to our settlement offer: Hello Jennifer… I would like to offer this for a resolution. I can pay you $ 100 a month until we have reached the balance of $ 1460. Right now, its impossible for me to pay that full amount. So… although this may not be ideal, its at least a way for you to get the money you want. Let me know! Here is the email I sent him in response(we have yet to hear back from him, and the handyman has not returned to our home): Jeremiah, After much discussion with Glenn, we both feel quite insulted that you are offering $ 100 per month over a period of 14 months. We are not a finance company. We are not here to finance or float your business. You are a business owner of a moving company and should expect that accidents can happen. It is not our responsibility that you are not prepared financially for such an occurrence, nor should your clients have to bear the consequences if you cannot manage your business. You advertise that you have insurance. You refuse to make a claim. You advertise that you handle items with care. This was not our experience. Your employees damaged our furniture, and while [your handyman] does a nice job, the fix on the sofas was only cosmetic with furniture marker and Old English Scratch Cover. It did not actually fix the scratches. He will be back next week to fix the walls and the floor, which as he may have told you, is a larger job because of how deep the gouges are in the floor. We are still unable to use our recliner because your employees took apart our recliner to move it and lost the bolts, and did not put it back together before they left. We have a broken recliner in our house because of them. You have yet to address this issue. And then there are the appliances. I’m very disappointed in your inability or unwillingness to do the right thing. We employed your professionalism, not your poverty. This should have been taken care of immediately. As it is, I’m one week away from the due date of giving birth, and should not have to negotiate under this amount of stress. Please resolve this as soon as possible. I’m counting on you to make this right. Regards, I am extremely disappointed in the unprofessionalism displayed with this company and would not recommend them.
