Couldn’t resist stopping at this sweet little shop in Eastsound. Once inside we couldn’t decide on what to get, all the desserts looking so delicious! I ended up with a piece of cherry pie and couldn’t have been happier. If only I lived on Orcas Island… I’d visit often! Great place!

Wow. Just. Wow. When my husband and I talk about going back to Orcas, the one place that consistently comes up is Passionate For Pies. I’m not kidding. The crust is flaky and buttery, melt in your mouth amazing. The chicken pot pie was delectable in every way. We were on the island for 4 days and went here 3 times. The fruit pies were also amazing. We didn’t try the quiche as we got addicted to the pot pies rather quickly. We will definitely go back again and again when we visit Orcas Island once more.

Warmed up jumbleberry pie made for a very tasty treat! It had local blueberries, strawberries and raspberries with an oatmeal crumble and thick crust. At $ 6/slice it was pretty pricey. I rarely buy pie slices so had a hard time deciding which one to get. There was a selection of 6 – 8 fruit pies and 3 – 5 savory pies. Also had a slice of the salmon savory pie. Similar great crust, fresh salmon, leeks and eggs. The savory layer seemed to split from the crust so it was a wee bit challenging to get the savory and crust at the same time, especially since you’re given forks made of wood material(think material used in coffee stir sticks). Service was friendly and location is right in downtown, in the same parking lot as where the farmer’s market was held.

Ordered the cherryberry pie(dark cherries and blueberries). It looked great and the serving size was good. The crust was perfect but the filling seemed to lack sugar.

Being a visitor to Orcas Island, I quickly discovered that the island is full of places to eat really great food. Be it humble or gourmet, every place I picked up a fork was a good experience. This builds up confidence in taking a risk when you find that a town takes pride in culinary excellence. Passionate for Pies is a nice example of this benchmark. Because of the many meals I had thus far, with nary a disappointment. I was game to take on the pie shop. Now really, is that much of a challenge? Hah. The shop sits on a hill, with a bright red sign and a dragonfly. Why a dragonfly? Ok, so I missed it on two or thee passes. Please don’t do what I did and wait until the last day and come an hour before closing. Go early Cause these pies are the one your grandmother makes. You can tell by the crust, you can tell by the shape, color, that these pies are going to b awesome before first bite. Now the only down side, is that they were out of our personal favorites, I would have loved apple and chicken pot pie. But my traveling companion had to make do with a berry and a beef pot pie. We engineered lunch and dessert by selecting a savory and a sweet pie each and splitting them in half. The beef wasn’t over the top amazing. I hope there is a better cut of beef and we were just slightly unlucky on that day. Te savory Tart was divine. I love the fact that the ingredients are sourced locally, you can read the sources on their brochure while you nibble. And for any traveling Brits that may be homesick. They make Pasties! I wish I had made this my first stop upon arrival so I could eat one each day for breakfast by the waterfront. And yes, in agreement with another reviewer. The coffee is not too much to shout about. The ambiance, is pretty sweet. The floor, Eco-cool recycled brown bags.(I have always wanted to try this). Oh, and the friendly staff and I think, owner, who even let me peek in the kitchen. I will definitely be putting this wonderful pie place on the top of my list for a return visit.

This is a great little place, and the service is very friendly. I had a tasty pork pie with a wonderful crust. The only downside was that it was a little dry. My wife had a chicken pie and said is was wonderful. We both had the«jumbleberry» pie, and agreed it was terrific.

Unbelievable. Unfortunately, we showed up at the end of the day after a long hike, so the only pie available was apple, but still… I am a pie maven, and am considered quite the pie baker in my little circle of friends and family, but I bow to «Passionate for Pies». The best crust ever, not too sweet, really fantastic. We will go back tomorrow to take some home on the plane!

Cozy, ecofriendly and the best pie I’ve ever had. The Jumble Berry pie had a fabulous filling and an amazing crust. My wife’s apple pie was spectacular. The Lopez creamery ice cream is a must. A bit spendy, but for the quality as well as the quality well worth it!

I like the concept of this place. It’s very green, the cups are compostable, the straws made out of corn, the floor made out of reused paper bags. The pie was tasty, but at $ 6 for a large slice, I don’t know if I’d go again. It was worth it the first time, but I don’t know if I’d be willing to pay that much again. The ingredients are fresh and local. By the time we got there around 5pm on Saturday, there were only 3 types of pies left, which was sort of a disappointment. There is one outdoor table, and about 6 seats inside. I don’t recommend the coffee. It’s free trade which is nice, but it wasn’t very good. My friend threw hers out it was so bad. Also, they do not have skim milk.
