Wow — that is some pretty bad pizza and wings. Arrived, ordered takeout after being told it would take 25 minutes…45 minutes later, things are finally starting to make their way out of the kitchen. The pizzas themselves: do yourself a favor and order the gluten free pizza. It’s the only one that tastes anything like an actual pizza(and still a far cry from that) and not like a sponge. There is a vague nostalgia for the kind of frozen pizza they served in my elementary school that is the only thing close to a redeeming characteristic of the regular pizzas. Beyond that, there’s just no reason anyone should get away with serving pizza this bad. The wings were HORRIBLE. How can someone make horrible wings? First, I have no idea what actual part of a bird these came from. Random bone shards throughout these tiny quail wings breaded(ew) and fried… they were disgusting and about 1⁄3 of the size of any wings I’ve ever seen with totally random shapes. The bone fragments throughout were incredibly disconcerting. So, don’t go here. It’s bad. It’s really bad.

Service was awful… Was advised to call ahead and order which we did at 5:45 and had a reservation at 6:00 for 11 people. Not only was the simple cheese and pepperoni pizza not ready — it didn’t come until 6:50! When we arrived at 6:00 expecting the pizza — we ordered 2 more… They arrived at 7:30 and 7:45 we are never returning — they seem to care more about the carryout business And the pizzas were okay — nothing to write home about

Crust was pretty greasy and the overall quality was not worth the money. Good enough in a pinch but otherwise much better places to eat on the island

Our family of 11 visit Orcas Island every summer and traditionally visit Portofino’s on our first night in town. We knew well enough to get a reservation and our table was waiting for us upon arrival. We ordered our pizza’s right away as we had young children in our group. The wait grew longer and longer as we started noticing people who arrived after we did had already been served their food. We also noticed a heavy volume of take out pizzas going out the door. After 50 minutes of waiting for pizza we were told the wait would be longer yet because we had a big group and there were a lot of take out orders. I asked the waitress if she could give my six year old daughter some bread as I noticed they had baguettes for sandwiches. She told me there was no bread but she could give my daughter pineapple. Clearly this woman doesn’t have children or she would know better than to give a child sugar on an empty stomach. Finally, our food arrived one full hour after ordering it. The food was good but we were all grumpy from the long wait. In the end a full 20% tip was added to the bill with no regard to our dissatisfaction with the service and the wait. We realize now that priority is given to the take out customers and will never dine in again and pay top dollar for poor service. If you decide to eat here either call your order in ahead or get take out. And, split your group so you have a choice as to what to compensate your server.

This was my third time here. First time was last year and the food and service was great! The second and third time in a week span, the staff were very accommodating for switching inside and outside seating because of weather. The pizza was great and when I went to get a salad and things were missing, they refilled it. Many staff members came by to check on us, for water or anything else. I will say it was super busy, so I knew it would take a bit of time for the pizza. For those reviews giving a bit of crap for it, the good pizza places take a bit of time. Go to a regular chain if you want fast pizza that is tasteless. The pizza was perfect here, with thick crust and hot yummy cheese. Thanks for their great service and excellent food. Edit: went again on July 8th, 2015 for takeaway of a small Hawaiian and their yummy desert. Love it!

The rating is more about the strange service than the food. We got there and were told 15 minutes but there were numerous open tables all over the dining room. We finally got sat and ordered drinks and food. After 15 minutes and a take-out-order asking for a beer while they waited did it dawn in the waitress that still didn’t have drinks. The service is just strange… We did think the pizza was good, full flavor and crust that was actually cooked. It worked for our family even if the service was a bit off.

This wasn’t New York style pizza but I was still impressed. The cordon bleu pizza and the Mediterranean were absolutely delicious. The service was slow but what isn’t slow on this island?

We had a hard time finding a family-style place to eat in Eastsound. Most restaurants were too specialized and too expensive for our family with young kids so we were relieved to spot this pizza place on the top floor of a building one block in off the main street of restaurants. It was well-priced and pretty good pizza. We would return!

I want to say something nice… so I will say that I have come here almost every summer with a big group as long as I can remember. I always have high hopes. They are always dashed. Pretty awful pizza and the service… folks, there are tons of fantastic people on the island, please hire a few that actually want to be there. I’ve never had a good server, but this past August was painful. There’s a new guy, who showed promise, but the wait staff? More painful than the bad food. And yes, I’ll be back because one of these days I’m going to show up and be totally impressed!

This review in a snapshot: If you are from NY, CA, or IL you will be incredibly disappointed by this pizza and ‘wings’. I put wings in quotation marks because they were wings, but they could not have been fried, they had no bleu cheese, and the sauce was just Frank’s Red Hot. I could have recreated their version of the chicken wing by going to a local grocery store and spending ¼ the amount. Food: Terrible. Not so terrible that it deserves 1 star, but this is not good pizza people! What is wrong with you? Now I just feel bad for everyone! Either A.) you have never had ‘real’ pizza in your life and so this is your standard for good pizza; or B.) You were incredibly intoxicated when you ate this. Those who liked this pizza must also think DiGiorno is actually delivery… The crust tasted like a cheap, pre-made pizza shell. The sauce tasted like a cheap, canned tomato sauce(Similar flavor to Little Caesars). The cheese was definitely the best part of this pie, but even that was lackluster with a cheap taste and questionable texture. If you are really craving pizza, and want to spend an inflated amount for a pizza that is worse than Freschetta — this is your place. Though, I would urge you to just go to the store and buy the ingredients to make your own. Even if you don’t know how, it will still come-out better than this. Wings: Again, to reiterate above, are you kidding me? You charged me nearly $ 1 per wing for this crap? I have never had a worse wing in my entire life, and I couldn’t even drown it in a decent bleu cheese to give them flavor because you don’t serve any… Food: 1⁄5 Service: Slow, but pleasant. I got it to-go, so I did not have too many interactions with the staff, but they seemed to be about what you would expect from someone who works at a pizza place. Service: 3⁄5 Atmosphere: It is literally a large and open room, with minimal décor, and cheap furnishings. My unfinished basement is classier, but at least this place was clean. Atmosphere: 2⁄5 Price: For what I got, which was a whole bunch of cheap ingredients thrown together and made to look like restaurant-quality food, I did not get my monies-worth. The wings were awful, and the pizza was not far behind. Price: 1⁄5 Final Thoughts: Save your money, go to the IGA on the island and get frozen pizza and Tyson wings. It is equal in quality and will cost you ¼ the price. Just terrible.

Came here because a good friend came here a while back & said it was awesome. Pizza was meh. Noticed the people in the kitchen aren’t wearing hair nets or hats. Service was terrible– they came to take our order, drop off the food & drop off the check. No refills– not even on our water. No checking to see if we needed anything else. The mom at the table next to us even had to clear the plates, garbage & food off of the table. She grabbed a rag off of the bar to wipe her dirty table. The waitress actually snapped at her! And to top it off, rather than the waitress coming to help clean, she just grabbed her tip from the previous customers and left the mom to finish cleaning by herself! So lame. We won’t be back. :(

I love pizza. I could eat it everyday. Unless it is from Portofino. Not good, not good at all. Décor is atrocious and cheap. Everything felt tacky and not in a charming way. The service was so painfully slow and detached for a Wednesday night in the shoulder/nearly off season. There were only two other tables so I can’t understand the wait for a glass of water. We ordered focaccia, which was the one little shred of the experience that was enjoyable. The Milano pizza was utterly flavorless and watery… watery pizza? Ugh. I could barely stand to choke down half a piece. The husband managed two pieces so it wasn’t worth the bother of sending it back.

Amazing view of Eastsound! Try to sit on the deck during the summer months if it’s not too breezy. The pizza is satisfying and my family enjoys the salad bar. It’s nice that they can do half and half with two different topping combos. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

My family goes at least 1−2x/year to camp on Orcas Island. We generally go into Eastsound once a trip for a wander and a meal as a break from camping food. This year, several places were either closed or too pricey for our family. An employee from another restaurant suggested we go try Portofino’s. We took him up on the suggestion, and ended up visiting twice over two separate trips to the island. On our first visit, the weather was amazing, and we were seated outside, enjoying the amazing views of the Sound and the warm sun. All of the pizzas we ordered were very, very good. Chewy yet crispy crust, tangy sauce, and delicious toppings. They can even make vegan pizzas, which my daughter ordered. The server was a bit out of it though, spacing on refilling waters, bringing plates, etc. We assumed she was just new or something. On our second visit, we again ordered pizzas(they also have sandwiches) and salad bar. The server(different person) again did not refill waters, acted stand-offish, and seemed overwhelmed, even though there were only 3 other tables. My daughter didn’t feel like the vegan pizza, so ordered the salad bar. Well, after eating a plate, she was still very hungry. The server then said we would have to pay for another«plate» at the salad bar, as it’s only one time through! Since when is a salad bar only one time through? What a ridiculous policy-telling a 12 year old girl she has to pay to eat another plate of salad. Then, to top it off-they went and included the tip themselves, as we were a group of 8. We would have split the bill, just to be able to control our tip to reflect our frustration. We will not return to Portofino’s, and also will spread the word about their poor service to our friends. Too bad-the place is unpretentious and has good pizza, good brews on tap, and nice views.

I recommend sitting on the deck and trying some of their amazing pizza and garlic cheesy breadsticks. Great place to come for a casual dinner on a sunny summer night.

Amazing view of Eastsound from the rooftop. They forgot my drink but then somehow magically decided to remember to put it on the bill. The wings were very, very good, and the pizza was just OK but certainly enjoyable. Really, really, slow.

It is always gastronomous to eat freshly made food in a small town in a small kitchen with only a very small staff(2 people). That’s the highlight of this place as they make everything fresh probably and serve you very happily. The lady(server/owner/cashier) was extremely friendly. She also suggested some good things on menu and helped in deciding our order(we were super 6 hungry people). The Focaccia is a MUST try. The pizza options are also really very good with wonderful combinations. They also have some draft beer(6 types, if I remember correctly). The ambiance is cozy and the wall painting will make you feel that you are in Italy. Overall, a great pizza place. You don’t feel you had pieces of junk after eating half-a-pie of pizza. Its quiet balanced with taste, health and junk :)

OK pizza. I’m not a pizza snob by any means, and their pizza was certainly fine but I’d say just slightly under cooked by a minute or two. Not a big deal. Had the leftovers for lunch the next day! Their garlic cheese bread was very good. Can’t comment on anything else from their menu. The only downside is the dining room is lit«full brightness», like you’re walking the aisles of a Target store or something. I don’t need to see the pores on the diner across the way. Tone down the brightness just a TAD and it would be a bit more comfortable to relax and enjoy dinner there.
