The Silver Moon is a fun restaurant to unwind at after a long day on the lake, golfing, tennis, fun with the kids or whatever you find yourself doing. Be sure to check out The Moon. Tasty, friendly — fantastic!!!

Fantastic bar and restaurant. We went on a golf trip and after playing went to the silver moon every night for dinner. Great burgers and the biggest oysters I’ve ever had. We loved this place, looking forward to going back next March!

A joint this good does not need a sign on the road. Great Lake food, wonderful service and consistently good food. Man-​size bar drinks. Specials every night. Fish toco on Tuesday. Parmesan grouper Thursday to Saturday — available but not always on the menu. Perfect place for your out-​of-​tower friends.

You won’t find better fried shrimp outside of Florida than here. Only issue is always the line so be patient and hit the bar where the staff is always friendly. Also recommend the fish and chips as well as the oysters.
Here’s the tip for a shorter line. Let the staff know you’ll be glad to eat outside where no one usually is and it’s much faster.

Food was delicious, atmosphere was fun, drinks and bartender were excellent.
However, our server seemed to have forgotten to put in our dinner order. We got our appetizer, but then waited a very awkwardly long time for our meals. The worst part was that he didn’t admit to it or apologize — just got defensive. Was really a bummer, because it had such promise to be such a fun experience and such good food.
We aren’t from the area, and had been excited to try this restaurant… but will try something else next time. Definitely too expensive for a service failure like that, especially with no apology.

We arrived at 6pm, put our name on the board and we were called within 10 mins. Our server Bethany was friendly, she took drink orders and we explained to her that we wanted to order all the food at once appetizers and main courses all together. She gave us water and drinks and she excused her self. About 20 mins into the wait, she came by and i asked for another beer. Our food took a while to come to the table. When the food came out, the food for 4ppl came out buy orders were incomplete, the food for the 5^th person was missing. She said she come back. When she finally completed the food orders, the last person on the table was still missing her entire dinner plate. Lucky the mussing plate was a tuna steak which we wanted rare.
I had asked her for a shot of triple sec and we waited 10 minutes to get it? Really, all they had to do was pour it.
It took a few minutes to get the tuna. She blamed the kitchen for the incomplete entrees but she had no excuse for the missing dinner plate of tuna salad. Not sure if she is new but she lacked service skills and she did not even bother to offer a free dessert for the table for her failure to deliver a smooth service. experience. Our order was pretty easy 3 chilis with 3 baked potatoes, steak salad, tuna salad and a small soup. Somehow she managed to forget ALL the baked potatoes and the order of tuna salad.
I have dined here 3 times, every time the food is consistently delicious, huge portions, with friendly servers that are very engaging. Tonight, the service was a failure, the food was delicious but the lack of care and concern from our server was just unacceptable. Please retrain your servers so you can keep repeat guests happy.

Great local hang out. I love the bar area. The pour very large cocktails and they are reasonably priced. This place is often packed, so plan accordingly!

The wine list was incredible and the pricing was so reasonable. One of the most friendly «local» style bars I have been to in a long time. The cheery on the ice cream sundae was a great local duo providing some great tunes.
Hopefully I am in the area again and can try the food.
Don’t miss this place if your at Lake Oconee.

A good meal and a fun evening! This is a popular restaurant so brjng your patience. Our server Libby was awesome, the trout and prime rib were delicious, other customers were friendly without being intrusive and everyone was considerate of my current wheelchair situation. I was seated in a low traffic area without feeling exiled. We will definitely return and recommend to friends !

This is a unique restaurant because it’s not a restaurant that has no big flashy sign. To know about this restaurant you have to know someone. That’s how I found it. The restaurant is like a wild card in a card game you have to guess when it is the right time to go because it can be empty which means you can be seated quickly or it can be crowded which means you would have to wait for 30+ minutes. The food is very good the have good specials and on Fridays and Saturdays the have the shrimp and oyster bar. I enjoy coming to the restaurant

Back again last night and was, able to snag a table at the bar… in our group was a bartender from a very high end restaurant in DC who commented about the very excellent wine list and the excellent pricing as well. I broke out of my usual parmesan crusted grouper rut and had the ribs, fall off the bone as advertisef, salmon sandwich got raves, and we all had to have our fix of those delicious grits!!! Splurged and had dessert, and I must say the key lime cheesecake, served so cold it was semi frozen, was worth every single gram of sugar. And I don’t say that lightly!!! As always, service was impeccable.

Believe the hype! First it is best to arrive early, but if you don’t then do make sure you write your name on the chalk board. Keep walking down the narrow hall type entrance way and the chalk board is on the left. The food was great and the service was also.

We ventured out from our stay at the Ritz Carlton Lodge for dinner and enjoyed every aspect of our evening. It is a paper napkin type restaurant so any type of dress is appropriate. From shorts and T’s to dinner jackets. Middle of the road seemed the standard. Jeans and a button down for men and you’ll fit in fine to this local after Saturday evening church staple.
Sign up your party on the chalkboard as you will probably have a 30min-​1 hour wait on a Saturday evening. There’s not a whole lot of room to wait but there is a bar area and an outside putting green with plenty of seating to keep little ones pre-​occupied.
The peel and eat shrimp were tender and sweet! Definitely add the $ 3.25 dinner salad that has a special treat on top.
Fish and chips was probably the best I have had in the U.S. A flaky fried grouper I believe. My wife had the crab stuffed grouper with Parmesan grits. Everything was outstanding!
There are different specials nightly. Raw bar, fish tacos, bbq ribs, etc… So don’t get your heart set on something until you see that nights menu.

It was a late time of night to eat but the food did not disappoint… Had the fish (Grouper) sandwich an it was perfect. My father in law had the bone in ribeye which was outstanding. The service was great an we never waited for refills or anything we needed.
Going back this weekend for oysters that have been promised fresh we will see.
We work on the road so finding a place like this with good food an reasonable prices is a great find for our family.

I stopped in on a recommendation from a friend. I had the fried grouper sandwich as he suggested. It was wonderful. I’ll be back for sure.

No, there is not a sign– drive by too fast and you’ll miss it. If you do, be sure to turn around and high tail it back to this unassuming building otherwise you’ll regret it.
I won’t lie, once I find something on the menu I like, I typically stick with it. This is especially true at The Silver Moon since I don’t live in Georgia and only visit about once a year. Every time I go I always get the fish n’ chips, and it does not disappoint. You get a massive piece of grouper deep fried to perfection atop a generous helping of fries, a side of coleslaw and tartar sauce. I’m not sure what they put in their tartar sauce, but as someone who doesn’t usually eat the stuff, I typically ask for extra.
I have tried the peel and eat shrimp, which is a special they have on either Friday or Saturday– these are massive and very fresh. My dining companion had the blackened salmon BLT sandwich. This thing was huge; the salmon was cooked perfectly and was very good. She asked if she could have the cheesy grits instead of fries and they were more than happy to oblige. These grits are what grits should taste like. Delicious.
My parents live down in this area so they frequent The Silver Moon quite often. I’ve heard tales of delicious ribs, parmesan grouper and massive deep fried shrimp– but I still can’t seem to stray away from my normal order of fish n’ chips.
Now, this place is kind of a hot spot for the locals so it can get quite busy. I would recommend going earlier or later to avoid the rush. Don’t let that deter you, they can usually fly through the wait list at a respectable pace. Parking can be difficult. Their lot isn’t huge and fills up quickly. Typically when I’ve been in the past we would park at the building next to it, they had a large gravel lot and much needed space for all the people parking at the restaurant. BUT, when I was there this week, I noticed the business next door was putting up a fence between the two parking lots, which could make parking much more of a headache in the future.

Yes there is no sign, they do that to keep the wait from taking hours I bet! This is another MUST GO place when you are in the lake area. The specials vary by day and I can see why people come back to try each. We went on a Wednesday and I had the meatloaf and it was the best meatloaf I have ever eaten. It is 1lb of meat stuffed with BBQ sauce, onions, mushrooms and cheese and the whole thing is covered by BBQ sauce. My wife and son shared the NY Strip as it was huge. She said it was one of the best steaks she has ever had and that was a surprise from a place on a lake in GA.
I had a taste of the steak and I have to agree the flavor was awesome. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. If you are staying at the Ritz, get out of there at night and check out better and cheaper places to eat. When you do, be sure and stop by The Silver Moon.

Food here is good, bar is great, service is great!
This little local pub will fill up quickly. It has many locals as the tourist will pass it by since it is not marked from the road outside of a «Bar». My wife and I had the fish and shrimp, my brother in law had the strip. I loved the side of fried green tomato.
The portions here are large and the price is right.
Again, at the Ritz and looking for laid back, casual, good food priced right. Here ya go and it is only a couple miles down the road!
