«That’s a tasty burger!» We popped in last night for dinner and ordered the Char Burgers with Fries. Very tasty and made fresh to order. Also was a big fan of the Strawberry Lime drink they were offering. One last thing, the manager who was working was very friendly and made a point to come by and see how we liked everything. This place isn’t quite Smash Burger, but worth the trip.

Great first time at Habit. Food was fresh and tasty. Waitstaff were very friendly and knowledgable. The manager on duty talked to each table about their experiences. The décor was definitely SoCal. Although the chain is fast food, it delivers a new twist on the regular burger. The price was great. I liked the condiment bar. The only thing I would suggest is not to salt the fries; let customers do that if they wish.

I was actually headed to a different restaurant in the neighborhood, but opted to give The Habit a try. I like to call a restaurant of this caliber, Not So Fast Food. The serving is similar to a Baja Fresh. You walk up to a counter to order, find a table as they prepare your food, and they buzz you back up when it’s done. There’s a self serve drink and condiment station including a hot pepper bar. I ordered a Char Double meal and added onion rings with ranch dressing. The burger was tasty and had a back yard grilled flavor to it. It was a little over done for my particular taste, but their patty is also thin so I’m not sure they could do anything about it even if they wanted to. They claim to have an equal patty and bun circumference so every bite is a full bite. It was true for my burger! The ambiance is nice and offers a bunch of different seating options, including full booths, half booths, and a long communal high top table. The palette is contrasting from dark wood tones and bright accent colors. Service was good and they were attentive to the public facing spaces to make sure they were clean and stocked. Overall, I would go back to the Habit. They were affordable for this level of food service and the food was good. They lost a star only because my burger was overdone. With all of their options, I might try their chicken sandwiches or tuna steak sandwich, instead.

Went there over the weekend with my boyfriend for the first time and had a terrible experience. The burgers were tasteless and there was ZERO love put in making them and the fries were a pile of grease and quite small for the price they charge. Not to mention the guy Mike at the counter taking our order was coughing everywhere and the manager just watched him do that while sitting at one of the tables on his cell phone. It was later in the evening and they ran out of the pump ketchup so I asked if they would be able to please refill it and Mike handed me ketchup packets… no dude just do your job and refill the ketchup. I had to ask the manager who overhead the entire conversation to refill the ketchup. How stupid. I’ll take five guys or JRs over this any day I will not return.

Had a chicken sandwich on grilled sourdough with some really good onion rings and a vanilla malt… partner had a double with cheese and fries… really good, clean, fast casual you know the drill… I think they’ll do well.

The restaurant has a cool vibe on the inside, they take care of it and it’s clean however that’s were the pro side of this review ends. The food is mediocre, that is it, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here however if it was in route to my destination and I was hungry I wouldn’t mind it. That being said there’s plenty of other places right around this restaurant.

Food 2 stars. Atmosphere 5 stars. Service 5 stars. The burger had no taste. It is cheaper than 5 guys and Bobby’s across the street but now I know why. If the other factors weren’t so good this would be a solid 2 star. I wanted it to be good, but it just didn’t work for me. I am surprised others liked it so much.

I really enjoyed the Santa Barbara Burger with the Lettuce Wrap bun. It was 2 patties with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, avocado, and I believe some type of ranch it something. I also like how they wrap the lettuce wrap and paper around the burger patties which made it easy to eat. It wasn’t that messy. They have good sweet potato fries and mocha shakes too. Yum! I would come back again. Nice and clean place and service with a smile. Oh and next time I will try their tuna steak sandwich with the lettuce wrap bun because that’s what my friend had and I she said it was really good. :)

This place opened recently and we have been there many times since. They rival other burger joints around but are more reasonably priced for similar burgers. Atmosphere is much nicer than the other ‘guys’ and the burger is presented much nicer and seems better quality. Very nice trendy décor. Where they differ a lot is in offering a delicious chicken breast sandwich and a nice variety of salads. Again– all reasonably priced. Several bread options are offered for burgErs and chicken sandwiches. I like the sourdough. I am counting points for a popular weight loss program and can have a very satisfying lunch or dinner here without using all my daily points. I did try one onion ring that my son ordered and it was crispy and amazing. The fries look like average frozen fries, but have been told they are good. Beverages are reasonably priced and I LOVE it that they have normal fountain soda not that powdered Coke Freestyle garbage. They also offer flavored teas and lemonade. They have a $ 1 ice cream cone and amazing looking shakes but I am always too full to try these. I will though! Employees are ALWAYS really nice and appreciative of our business. Enter off Route 36 East(near Michaels) or in back plaza entrance by Quick Chek on Wycoff Rd.

Was very impressed by the food here. Really needed a good burger place in the area but all the places like Five Guys and Bobbys Burgers are so expensive. This place is really cheap — burger itself was under $ 5. Shakes are only $ 3.60(recommend!) So good!

They have contempt for customers. I placed a takeout order online. When I received email confirmation within a minute or so, I realized the online order system placed it with Eatontown — 40+ miles from the site I thought I selected. I called immediately, only to be placed on hold with message saying to leave a call back number. When they called back, I was told that since the order was«confirmed», it could not be cancelled, and my card would be charged! Also, I asked, that the manager call me back — did not happen. NOTE: I tested their system two more times, and even though I selected the River Edge location, when the online order system popped up, at first it was for Fair Lawn. Something is amiss with their system. I will dispute the credit card charge. I did place the order in River Edge, and all went smoothly.

Very mediocre, burgers and fries were good but not great. The cashier messed up our order and charged us for an extra order of fries. Also the milkshakes were too thick to drink. I probably won’t come back here

Who eats a salad at a burger joint? Me! Yep I had the Caesar salad and it was great for the price, large portion + crunchy croutons = perfect. I also tried the fries which were great as a side and the deep fried green beans which are a must try. Service is super friendly and the place is clean and bright. You get a good bang for your buck here!

We moved to NJ from California recently, and have been missing some of our regular haunts. We so delighted to come across this new franchise(just opened last week!) and to get a taste of the West Coast. I hope NJ is ready to embrace good sourdough bread and avocado on your sandwich, ’cause it’s delish. We ordered the burger with the grilled pineapple(yum!), one with cheese and one with avocado. All were very tasty, as were the mocha shakes. I love their fries as well. One reviewer seemed to think Habit is representing themselves as a high-end place and was disappointed that they didn’t deliver. I disagree. It ain’t haute cuisine folks, it’s a good burger joint with a CA flair, and their prices are ridiculously good for what they deliver. Think Five Guys with fresher/more veggies. Hoping they open one in the Princeton area soon!

This is a California based restaurant that just opened their second location here in NJ. They advertise that they want to provide high quality food at a low price and relatively quickly. I have been a huge fan of the Santa Barbara restaurant for years and was so happy to see one opening just down the street from us. I really think the food is Amazing, for the cost you pay! The closest comparisons would maybe be Five Guys, which I don’t think has food nearly as good or as wide a menu variety, or Smashburger which is ridiculously overpriced. Here you can get a meal for 2 for less than $ 20. I love love love their chicken sandwich and you can customize it in tons of ways(the grilled sourdough Is the best in my opinion). A popular option for the burgers is to order a lettuce wrap bun instead of a typical bun for a healthier option. The sweet potato fries and milkshakes are also delicious. Finally I have to say that one of the more noticeable things from our visit was how friendly and nice All of the staff were. They were definitely trained to bring some of the California vibes to NJ.

I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger and onion rings. The burger was edible and did have lots of veggies on it but the meat had absolutely no taste. It tasted like the meat had been frozen. The meat didn’t look all that appetizing when they were throwing it on the grill. The bun was a higher end bun but the total lack of flavor of beef makes their burger a «no-go!» The onion rings were totally inedible. All I could taste was grease. They were all the same size too. How does that happen in nature unless they are artificially made by a machine. They were also almost all batter. Even Sonic cuts up fresh onions each day and hand batters them as they are ordered. I would have thought that a burger joint like this that tries to pass itself off as «higher end» would be better. The manager saw me throwing my untouched onion rings away and did ask me about them. He tried to give me a coupon for another free meal but I declined. Why would anyone go back to a business that sells such unappealing food, even for a free meal? I’m not homeless.
