I had a cheeseburger and fries. It was very average. Reading the reviews, I suppose I should have had pizza. Nevertheless, the atmosphere was striking in its weird, lightless, stuck-in-the-seventies décor. There doesn’t seem to be anything welcoming about the outside of the building, further they have managed to block out about 80 percent of the outside light. The place smelled very old and mildewy to me, and the carpet needs some serious attention

Love, love this place the wait staff is always friendly and the embiance is perfect. If you want a good slice of thin crust pizza this is the place to go! They have AAAAMMMAAAZing pizza ! and their deep fried mushrooms are totally out of this world. We frequent this place quite often.

A cozy little restaurant and bar easily accessible from the highway. If you are staying at Comfort Inn you could safely walk there. The service was friendly and on point. They made us feel at home and welcome. We had cheeseburgers, fries, and cole slaw and boy did they hit the spot! Beer was cold and the prices were just fine whether you’re traveling alone or with a family. Clean, friendly, and TASTY!

I worked here as a line cook when I was in my early 20s. Hands down — the pizza is excellent. Unfortunately, nearly everything else(with the exception of sandwiches) is frozen, tossed in a microwave until completion, then ding! Order up! If you’re sitting at the bar and you think Jim is a good guy, believe me, he’s entirely different once he gets to the kitchen.

This is an excellent family owned pizza shop with reasonable pricing, quality products, and cheap beer. To be honest, the pizza is good enough here that you really need not venture any deeper into the menu, which appears to be rather unremarkable«American» restaurant fare. Hell, it doesn’t even need pepperoni. Cop a large pizza with well-done cheese, and thank me later.

My wife and I recently dined here together for the first time, and were VERY impressed! The service was excellent, the specials were a good deal and the food was AMAZING! They make their own Bleu Cheese dressing, that is very tasty! They also make their own gigantic dinner rolls that are very fresh and good. Even the noodles in the chicken noodle soup were made«in house». I always commend a locally owned place that that actually makes it own stuff and add their own flare to their dishes. My wife had a steak salad that was perfectly prepared. The portions were also good for the price. I highly recommend Penn Gables and will be going back sometime soon.

Family owned business that is still using the family recipe. All their food looks good and people say it is but the pizza is so awesome that I cannot even think of ordering anything else. I will cut to the chase… Best pizza. Period.

Conveniently located off of Rt. 22 by the Walmart shopping center. Restaurant is an older building but clean and nice inside. Staff were very friendly and considerate. Lounge/bar area is separate from a large open dining room, which would be great for large groups/functions. Menu has typical diner fare of sides, salads, sandwiches and platters, with a selection of specialty thin crust pizzas. Most items were under $ 10. Our food arrived quickly and was served hot. I wouldn’t say say the food was the best I ever had, but it was tasty and adequate for a quick lunch. The place is not fancy by any means– just a «down-home» local place where you can get a bite in the comfort of a casual atmosphere. A good place to stop with the family while traveling.
