Bakers Square

Just had lunch here; poor service. A bowl of soup and a cup of coffee. Coffee took 5 minutes, the soup 15 minutes. While I was not expecting «fast food», the gentleman seated the next table over experienced much better times as apparently he is a «regular». I am glad I did’t order a sandwich or an entrée as I would probably still be there. To the credit of my waitress, she was very busy, but apparently I didn’t make her priority list. I stopped here to have a simple lunch and was very disappointed.

So annoying when the place is just about empty and they seat everyone on top of each other. Even with that, service was extremely slow. By the time the food came it was barely warm. Maybe next time will be better, Afterall, still love the pies!

We visited here more than once while we were in Minnesota. Beth was kind enough to tell us that there is a like Bakers Square here in Virginia.
I love the Banana Cream Pie, my honey had the french silk. He definitely liked it.
The stir fry pita has always been a personal favorite of mine, so very good.

This place needs some janitorial work everthing is dusty. Including the dishes where they serve the food they Are also very slow. Take to long to serve the food. I will think twice if I want to comeback there.

There are many great options for breakfast. The food we ordered was delicious and served with generous portions. To top it all off, the service was professional and friendly!
This is a great place for breakfast, and I would highly recommend it to others. This is not just a place for old people (as other reviewers would have you believe)!

This is the grandparents version of Applebee’s and since I am now a NaNa, I have to review it. We don’t go here often and the one item I loved on the menu is no longer offered — chicken breasts with artichokes, yum. Pray folks, if you see a review of mine at a place you like because my meals are often incorrectly made (see BK, OPH or anywhere so that only bothers me) or the items are taken off the menu (Wendy’s, McD’s and here) or worse, the restaurant actually closes down see ya Cattle Company, Zorba’s and Santorini’s. As an example of how absurd it can be, the cafeteria at work had fish and chips but they ran out of the chips! How do you run out of half of the meal only? But I digress… I know many of the Square locations around the country have closed so my family was surprised this one stayed open because «Mom ate there!» Each time we do eat here, we always wonder why we don’t come more often. Some of the pies are heavenly, some meh. Really good tuna melts and haha, they have onion in the tuna which is what I think makes them so awesome.

This place needs some serious management training. Ordered a chopped steak and extra gravy. Got chopped steak and about a quart of grease running off of it. Of course they forgot extra gravy. After a while with no one checking in the server finally asked and brought out some gravy with about a quarter inch of grease floating on it. The server also brought some napkins I asked for to soak up the grease from the «steak». While all of this is going on the so called «manager» checks in at every table nearby EXCEPT ours. I can see him looking at my plate as he whisks by. He just knew what I would say if he asked how things were. So upon paying the bill, I tell the «cashier» about my experience and she virtually laughed at me which aggravated me even more. I told her I was serious, but the silly smile just stayed on her face Needless to say, this is my final visit to bakers square. Small wonder they are all slowly going out of business all over the metro area.

Don’t worry about star I give!!! Actually I ordered chopped steak but it’s come out as burger patty, maybe they should say minced meat…
Hopefully corporate office could understand that some people know English!!! Or definition of word!!!

Okay, I admit I would never have thought going here before I had little kids, but now it is our family go-​to restaurant. We are either here Saturday morning or Friday evening. The kids love breakfast any time of day. The entrees are always very good. I have always been impressed with the food for the type of restaurant it is. Some of the wait staff is excellent, others just okay. With the 20% off coupons that are always easy to find, it is a great deal for the quality of food.

Definitely a good place for seniors and people with young kids. I’d say it’s maybe a half a step up from Perkins foodwise, but they’re pretty similar: 10-​page menus with standard American fare at decent prices and portions. Good service, but the bathrooms left much to be desired.
