Rare Steak and Sushi

Best calamari since I was in South Carolina. Staff is incredibly friendly. Great atmosphere. Food excellent. Would have been 5 stars but staff had a hard time being attentive-​too few on duty?

We went here on a Friday night. This was our first time at the restaurant and were using a
coupon. The atmosphere is a bit odd and somewhat loud, it is located in an athletic club, so while we were eating, the window allowed us to watch people play tennis. There was no waiting for a table, the wait staff told us we can pick any seat we wanted and he would bring us a menu. there were two other parties seated. Although we ordered right away, and the place didn’t seem busy at all, we waited at least 15 – 20 minutes to receive our food (4 rolls of sushi).
We ordered 4 specialty rolls: the crunchy spicy salmon ($ 16)– could have used more crunch, caterpillar ($ 13)– good mix of fish, Strawberry shortcake ($ 13)– was not a fan of having the sweetness of the fruit mix with the rest of the ingredients, and Mojo roll ($ 14)– the best out of the four rolls given the delicious taste and texture. The prices seemed about the same as other japanese restaurants, or maybe a little higher depending on the rolls you ordered. There was nothing really special about these rolls, they were good and presented very well, but nothing that would entice me to visit again.

We had been there for 45 minutes waiting for the food. The steak was really good. We just wish that there were bread on the table like a regular restaurant to make the wait a bit easier.
