We stayed here twice last year & once this year. Great stays each time. Attentive caring host and helper. Super location. Comfortable rooms & good value. I highly recommend it.

Excellent place to stay in the historic edenton. The atmosphere is elegant, 25 year old port is excellent, the host is charming and breakfast is a delight. Will definitely come again.

I’d give this 10 stars if I could. Found this while on the road reviewing the B&B’s in the area. We were there about 10 days ago, and luckily got the last available room, their ‘deluxe’, as it has a sauna/jacuzzi/steam bath/shower unit in the bathroom that is quite impressive. But even without this it is remarkable for the décor and hospitality. The ambiance starts with the tiny back courtyard. It is welcoming with the sound of nearly hidden fountains. The bright red birdhouse is a touch that makes the area look like a still-life composition, clearly put together with an artist’s eye. It’s like entering a little sanctuary. Inside, the furnishings and appointments are beautiful, and the whole house has an aesthetic coherence that flows from the hallway, around each room on the first floor, to the stairway and up to the guest rooms. There are beautiful little touches like the miniature rocking horse in the corner of our room. There is attention to detail from floor to ceiling. It is impeccably clean and serene, with classical music softly playing from an unseen source, blinds to re-direct the sunlight light, and quiet central air conditioning that was a relief from the NC heat and humidity. And of course the breakfast! Again there are perfect table settings with perfect linen and china. There were three different offerings for breakfast when we were there, and as each was tried, it is apparent that the owner/chef has multiple talents. The service was attentive and discrete. In addition the owner is more than attentive to guests’ needs. Wine and cheese are arrayed in the beautiful dining room in the late afternoon, and an aged port wine in a beautiful decanter for guests’ pleasure. There is a nook with cold drinks, snacks, coffee maker, teas, a microwave — and packets of microwave popcorn — as well as little candy bowls throughout the downstairs rooms with a variety of chocolate and hard candies. There’s a selection of DVD’s available — as each room has a DVD player. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase his cookbook! I am not sure of the ‘season’ pricing as we were there in early September, but for our $ 99, this was like a thoughtful gift
