The perfect island airport complete with grass strips, right off the beach and a great restaurant in the field. I haven’t landed here yet, just come to the airfield whenever I’m on Martha’s Vineyard to enjoy the view.

My wife and I ate hear twice and loved it. Thefirst day we had breakfast here it eas excellent. I had corned beef hash, 2 eggs overeasy and toast and my wife had the breakfast burrito which she loved. Prices were very reasonable for MV. The second day we had lunch. We both had the fishermans platter which was again excellent. We should have gotten one and split it. We did however eat the balance for our evening meal. Also the staff is extremely friendly. I GIVETHISPLACE5STARS. The name of this restaurant is «THERIGHTFORKDINER»

One of my most favorite strips ever. Landed here over the weekend in my Cessna 182. You can go for a swim and then rinse off up near the office, and finish with a nice meal at the Right Fork Diner. The #8 Vineyard Transit bus picks up across the street and from there you can go anywhere on the island. Lot of neat planes flying around, and biplane rides are available in season if you didn’t bring your own. Word to pilots who haven’t been here before: since there is no official taxiway diagram, print out a copy of the google maps image for taxi assistance. There are three runways and a bunch of taxiways, and with the tall grass it is not hard to get lost once you’re on the ground. When arriving or departing VFR, give MVY tower a call and they’ll authorize transit through their Class D airspace. Also, avgas is easy and reasonably priced, considering they’re on an island.

The Right Fork diner at Katama Airpark is just great. You can sit outside on their deck for a hearty breakfast and watch the planes land in front of you. My favorite breakfast on the menu is «The Aviator» which is massive. Two eggs any style, toast, homefries, two huge pancakes and your choice of meat. The staff there are all very friendly. The Right Fork diner serves breakfast until 2pm! They will also serve beer and wine beginning July.

I too had my first grass field landing at this airport, it’s one of America’s best kept secrets! Where else can one fly low over the water and beach for an approach to some of the best kept grass strips. The right fork diner has a great menu and has a deck from where everyone watches planes take off and land. My favorite part is that one can land and park their plane down by the beach, love it.

This little air strip is awesome! I had my first grass field landing at this airport. If you’re a pilot it’s a definite stop for you then! Park your plane on the field and walk just a few hundred feet to the beach!
