I am blown away by Tess and her service! It all started off on a really bad foot… I was driving home from work when a Gardening By Tess truck/trailer in front of me lost a piece of debris, which promptly cracked and shattered my windshield in two places. I was not a happy camper! I called Tess and left a message, then followed up with my insurance company. The insurance company was able to get it fixed within the same day, so I didn’t feel I should harass Tess anymore… However, Tess called back EXTREMELY apologetic and wanting to do everything she could to make it right. When I let her know that my insurance had taken care of it, she didn’t shirk it off — she followed up and offered me compensation. Tess is proof that there are GOOD people out there, and I can’t thank her enough. She has my business from here forward, just based on this simple interaction! Thank you, Tess and team!

My experience with Gardening By Tess was mixed. I purchased a home that had a lovely, but very overrun garden. There were several garden areas which needed quite a bit of weeding and replanting. Some of the areas were full sun, and others part sun. Unfortunately, about 30−40% of the new plants Tess selected for the part sun garden(which she deemed a shade garden) died– there is just too much sun for the plants she selected. The remaining plants(a much greater area) preformed much better, but Tess did not make plant selection that suited the space. For example, in the area that was right next to our patio table, where we sit, relax & eat as a family with young children, she choose to plant several heather bushes. They are beautiful & have grown very well– but heather are known to be covered with bees! No one can sit at the table, except after sundown! When we scheduled our 2nd year maintenance, I asked Tess to move these plants to a better location elsewhere in our garden, which she agreed to, but then her crew«must have forgot», she promised to have them come back– then I never heard from her again– well except form the form letter encouraging me to schedule my maintenance this spring. Fat chance. Bottom line, Tess seems too busy to give the best care to her clients & she is too expensive to put up with mediocre performance. Also, if you do use her, make sure you know exactly what she is planting & where prior to planting because she may not have the time or inclination to make changes. Also, she did not replace the plants that she selected and that died due to poor site selection.
