Absolutely delish! Everything we ordered was delish we got the prefixe menu for 49 $ and everything was tasty… And the spectacular view to die for its a must… A bit pricey but worth it!

I stopped by this awesome waterfront restaurant called Haven and it was a piece of Heaven. I tried the gumbo, the lamb shank & chocolate croissant bread pudding! And to top it all off its Hudson County Restaurant Week! #imsofull #imsofat

Went there on a Monday night and it was pretty empty. The place is absolutely gorgeous and service was great too. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered the chicken taco rolls which was really delicious. My friend had the calamari and it was good too but not mind blowing. For my entrée I ordered the salmon. It was too overcooked so it was dry and left a fishy taste in my mouth afterward. My friend ordered the prime rib and it was bland, didn’t have much taste to it. We ordered a side dish of spinach and it was really salty, salty to the point where we needed to drink like a liter of water afterward. My chocolate brownie desert was dry and hard but the ice cream was good. Unfortunately I probably would not come back because this is a pricey restaurant and If I wasn’t impressed the first time, why would I be impressed the 2nd time.

This place is beautiful and the food is good. However, the people running this restaurant have no idea what they are doing. My boyfriend and I had a reservation to which we arrived on time to. Despite the fact, we had to wait about half an hour to be seated, meanwhile there were plenty of empty tables in the establishment. I have no idea what was going on. My BF got fed up and after approaching the hostess for second time, and asking to speak to a manager, she finally sat us. To make matters worst, we got a table next to this guy that smelled like he hadn’t showered in days!!! I was so upset. For this reason I might give this place a second chance as it goes to show that maybe we were having a bad day, I mean, what are the odds? lol

What a meal we had at HAVEN for Hudson Restaurant Week. First of all, it has to be said that this place has an amazing atmosphere and a great location. It’s classy, elegant, and fresh all at the same time and boasts views of Morningside Heights down to the Financial District. For food, their menu is not cheap, but if you can catch a deal like we did for Hudson Restaurant Week($ 40pp 3-course prix fixe), you have no excuse to not go here. We started off with the Truffle Mac & Cheese and the Shrimp Firecracker. The mac and cheese was full of truffle flavor, cooked well with just the right amount of cheese. The Shrimp Firecrackers were impressive in that they look heavily breaded, but you’ll find that they just use large(and very tasty) shrimp. They’re served in what almost tastes like a sweet and sour sauce. For my entrée I got the Roasted Rosemary Lamb Shank which was served with risotto fritters and a stew. The portion was huge, which is not typically what you expect from a restaurant like this. It melted off the bone, easily pulled apart without even having to use a knife, and as with everything else it tasted great. My girlfriend got the Southwest Hanger Steak, which was a smaller portion, but she was equally impressed. I left here feeling very full and satisfied. The service was friendly and attentive — I had my water filled continuously throughout the meal and our waitress came to check up on us often. Overall, it was a great dining experience and one I would expect for Hudson Restaurant Week. We were impressed and would probably head back here for a celebration or special occasion of some sort.

Went here Saturday night for my anniversary dinner. Very nice place, décor ambiance and all. Tables put pretty close together so you involuntarily listen to the table next to yours’ convo. We ordered the calamari and a few oysters as apps. Nice thing is you can order single oysters. Calamari was amazing!!! Very fresh and delicious. My entre was the Chilean sea bass… This was not what I was expecting. It was a Korean style noodle soup dish. I was expecting something completely different. A zesty, lemony fish. The soup threw me off. Wasn’t the biggest fan although the fish was cook e perfectly. Dessert I had the carrot cake. It was great. Light yet decadent. Overall we had a great night. Nice place. Good food. Good ambiance with nice views of the city. Good place for a date night.

Before I begin. i would like to say that the service and ambience deserve 5 stars++. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with dashing smiles. Our hostess Alba was just the sweetest thing. We were not happy with our table and she went out of her way to accommodate us by taking us around the restaurant to pick another table. The ambience and view of NYC were just magnificent. The music was on the loud side, which gave it an upbeat, club-like vibe, which I totally loved. We came here for restaurant week and were very disappointed with our entrees. The appetizers were exceptionally good and we were hopeful for the same quality with our entrees. For appetizers, we had the shrimp firecracker which was amazing. The shrimp was very fresh and the sauce was a perfect blend of tangy-sweet. We also had the field tomato salad with blue cheese, which was very tasty and refreshing. We both ordered the swordfish and the first time around, both were overlooked. Our waitress Emily was great… No questions asked, she suggested that our meals be re-cooked. They re-cooked them and they were cooked better but the swordfish still had a very dry texture and a fishy after taste. I am betting that it was frozen and more than likely, for a long time. We just had the most succulent fresh swordfish 3 nights before at St. Eves in Hohokus and could certainly tell the difference! For dessert, my husband had the chocolate bread pudding which was out of this world. I had the panna cotta, which was highly disappointing… It was dry and rubbery. Again Emily was fantastic and asked me if I would like something else and I opted for the chocolate bread pudding since I wanted to play it safe… but this one was only ok … It had too much chocolate, it was like eating plain chocolate sauce. The drinks were pricey… $ 16 for a glass of pinot grio. If I were to give this place another try, I would be very careful not to order fish.

This week was my first time eating at Haven. My friend had gone to a charity brunch at Haven and recommended that we go. I must preface this by saying I’ve never commented negatively on a restaurant’s décor but find it necessary with Haven. The environment is completely sterile. They pale colored walls drowned out the furniture. Which were light colored couches with light bluefish circles on them. One wall was covered in light wallpaper looking like a hotel hallway. It was extremely blah and cold compared to most restaurants on river road. Not even sure if this description is accurate enough. Just not a welcoming environment not to mention probably the worst view of the city you can find. We didn’t have a reservation and as another reviewer said we were told we couldn’t sit by the window, even though those tables were empty during our whole time dining there. Our server was nice but definitely felt rushed. Barely welcomed us and informed us it’s restaurant week. Our food was mediocre to say the least. Nothing super exciting and I felt the description on the menu wasn’t accurate but whatever. My margarita tasted like pure mix(head down to pier 115 and they will make you a fresh one) and was filled of ice. We kept ordering drinks about three rounds each and at 10 pm were given the bill without asking if we wanted anything else. My biggest pet peeve. I quickly looked on to see what time it closed but it didn’t really matter felt like we were being rushed out and to top it off it was half empty. The manager did come around but in reality there was nothing that worth of mentioning. Idk. You can find much more bang for your buck

Came for restaurant week. Got the gumbo and taco spring rolls for our appetizer choice. Both were tasty. For our entrees we got the swordfish and hanger steak. Swordfish came on bed of mash potatoes that were extremely yummy. Swordfish was seared perfectly. Hanger steak was also cooked exactly to the correct temperature. Veggie mix it came with was pretty good over all. Dessert choices were very limited, and nothing special, but tasted fine. We would come back to try the full menu but only for an expensive date night. Waitstaff besides our waitress was a little clueless, but manageable.

Came here for a private event. There’s a nice area in the back that can accommodate private parties. Service is excellent. We had two appetizers: pretzel-crusted calamari and chicken spring-rolls. Calamari was excellent, chicken spring rolls had some component that I found unappetizing. I can’t figure out what but it tasted slightly bitter which ruined the queso component. For the entrees: roasted rosemary lamb shank and the herb-roasted chicken. Portion sizes were gigantic. I couldn’t even eat half of my entrée but it was excellent. For dessert: chocolate brownie, and the bread pudding. Bread pudding was way too sweet(like nausea-inducing), which is a shame because this dessert had the potential to be awesome. The chocolate brownie is served with vanilla ice cream — not many complaints here… it was a little«tough» for my liking instead of being a chewy brownie but overall okay. This was huge, the bread pudding was bite-sized. Great ambiance and the view of the NYC skyline is terrific!

Came here for brunch with my boyfriends family. The place is gorgeous! The prices are also reasonable, however I was very underwhelmed on the portions specifically for salads. Given, I understand certain restaurants provide smaller portions; I left incredibly disappointed with the size of my salad and my soon-to-be father in law and boyfriend were eating off my soon-to-be mother in laws plate to fill up(keep in mind we are used to small portions). Although It was delicious I felt like there wasn’t enough for me to even really enjoy it. The steak and eggs looked good(and from what he said) was very good. The kale salad looked beautiful, tasted it and it was ok, nothing to write home about. The eggs Benedict was very yummy. The service was nice and formal but slow. Took a while for the server to ask us for our orders(boyfriend had to flag him down). The food also took it’s time coming out but granted, it did come out beautifully plated. Overall place was good. I’d probably go back expecting a bit more from them, perhaps I should try them for dinner as we went for lunch. All-in-all worth the trip on ambience alone.

Appetizers –Firecracker shrimp: light sweat and sour sauce coating which does not take away from the tempura below –Pretzel crusted fried calamari: as one can expect from a calamari dish, evenly coated New Orleans chicken & sausage gumbo: a large helping with substantial chunks of chicken, enough to replace a small entrée Entrees –Pan seared miso glazed Chilean sea bass: came as a large portion with thick layers that easily collapsed apart for tender, flavored bites –Grilled Montauk swordfish: a very tender filet – one of the best prepped that I’ve had, with a rich sweet potato cash(more than enough to pair with small bites of fish) –Roasted Rosemary lamb shank: again, very tender. Huge portion. Dessert –Chocolate croissant bread pudding: palm-sized, very sweet but not painfully so when shared for a few bites. Great texture between the sabayon sauce, the flaky exterior, and slight resistance of the pudding beneath. Worthwhile to consider the happy hour(5 – 8) and pre-fixe menus(5 – 7) for weekdays. A lot of serious/popular entrees can be found on the latter. I enjoyed this visit for the high quality across the menu and from our service. This is in perhaps a simple plaza but my personal priority is the dining experience. Note that only several tables ~5 have an in impeded view of the skyline.

Came for dinner during weekday — pretty packed, good atmosphere. I heard a friend say good things about this place so I was expecting a decent experience at least. I was wrong — surprisingly, wrong, because place looks promising, with attentive staff. I ordered the filet mignon against all my reservations thinking this place should be more of a seafood place, and I paid the price. Never in my life did I have to actually cut down hard on a filet mignon! That was a bad sign, and oh boy, though slightly pink in the center(I asked for medium), the meat was so tough to chew. Did I get a chuck roast or something? And the sauce? It was incredibly salty with no flavor dimensions at all, like a day old salty microwaved gravy, if I must. I won’t normally do this but I had to ask them to back it out and give me the sea bass instead, which was my other original pick. Servers were courteous enough to be apologetic and came twice to let me know it’s on the way. Meanwhile, my brother had salmon which when I tasted was… just meh. He actually said he’s not sure what he’s eating and remarked at how salty it was. My mom’s shrimp salad was just OK — nothing memorable. When sea bass came after 15 min, it was a bit smallish portion half submerged in dashi broth. Basically like soba noodle broth — mild and innocuous. I give them credit for the creative try. Fish was moist and with the broth it seemed to go along ok though broth was a bit on the salty side. Didn’t find the crispy rice ball adding to the taste much. If there were bit more vegetables in there things might have been a bit better. I did finish the dish but it was not something I would order again as I felt that I could make something like that at home. I remarked it as the best dish that night, so you know the whole experience was pretty subpar. We did not bother ordering any wine or dessert as a result. In conclusion — did kitchen staff all catch cold? How else can everything be so over-seasoned? Also, freshness of ingredient lacking compared to the price paid, and the chemistry between ingredient and the sauce/spice at best uninspiring. I wonder if since it was a weekday night they had trainee chefs cook or something because it was a bit hard to believe for a $$$ restaurant in Edgewater river strip. You just don’t do that here. Let’s hope it was just an anomaly but I definitely won’t be coming back unless I hear something drastically to the contrary in the future.

Went to Haven for a birthday brunch and definitely wasn’t disappointed. I requested a waterfront table a couple weeks prior so they were able to accommodate(I recommend doing this because those get taken fairly quickly). We had the pretzel crusted calamari, pork belly sandwich, and my favorite which was the pork belly sweet potato hash. It was incredibly unique and the flavors meshed particularly well. I definitely would return just for that. Gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I was expecting something a bit more fancy. I assumed a waterfront restaurant would have a certain upscale flair but this was more casual than expected. It’s in a strip mall next to a HomeGoods store and while this isn’t super important, it just wasn’t as glamorous as I had expected/as the website portrayed.

Pros: (+) Chilean Sea Bass is so delicious! (+) Accommodated our Bridal Shower party with a prepared menu (+) Beautiful view of New York Skyline (+) Option to sit outdoors to overlook view (+) Service was great Cons: (-) Chocolate bread pudding was way too sweet (-) Calamari was chewy(which means it was overcooked) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I came here for my cousin’s Bridal Shower that they accommodated and they had a prepared menu for our party so my review will be based of that experience. We had about 25 – 30 girls at our Bridal Party and the tables were arranged comfortably to fit all of us along with a table for the gifts and cake and space for Bridal games. They set us up in an area in the corner window that was somewhat secluded from the rest of the restaurant that still gave us a great view of the New York Skyline. Our waiters were great. The service was fluid and a lady who worked at the restaurant(possibly the manager) came to check up on us frequently to make sure we were okay and enjoying the service and food. We had a pre-planned menu of a choice of appetizer, main course and dessert following a choice of coffee or tea. I chose the calamari for appetizer, the filet mingon for the main course with black bean sauce Although this place is not in New York, if you want to have an amazing view of the NYC city skyline for some great photos… this is the place to go. You can even just come here to take some amazing photos along the water.

I went here on a Sunday around brunch time for a bridal shower. It was an interesting contrast between the setting and the patrons. The restaurant itself is very trendy and sleek with stunning views of the city, but a lot of the patrons were either in their 80s or looked like they just rolled out of bed. That’s good I guess, you can come as you are. Our large rowdy group was placed in the rear but still had great city views. We had a buffet setup with some apps for the tables(mostly fried stuff, I skipped). The buffet food was actually really good– eggs, potatoes, steak, salad, and salmon. The service was really attentive and made sure we had our drinks full. Would consider having an event here or at least returning to dine.

Excellent spot which overlooks the Hudson river, giving you quite a view on any beautiful morning, afternoon, or evening of your choice. The interior is lovely, reminiscent of lounges that can be found in upscale hotels. We were seated quickly and shown the menu. I was surprised at the value of their brunch items. I went with the hanger steak and eggs, which also came with home fries, salad, a Bloody Mary, and a Mimosa. All for $ 27, great deal if you ask me! Apparently they were very busy the Sunday morning my friends and I came. I believe there was a large group there celebrating that day, so there was going to be a slight delay getting our food to us. Frankly, we felt our food came out pretty quickly. Still, it was a very nice gesture that we were served spring rolls free of charge. The waitress was very friendly and checked with us every now and then to ensure we were enjoying our meal. My friend couldn’t have picked a better spot for my first brunch outing!

Haven is heavenly. If you’re looking for a beautiful restaurant that has a classy/modern feel with amazing views of NYC, this is your spot. Excellent menu, I’ve never ordered anything I didn’t like. In fact, their steak is much better than steak I’ve had at some legit steak houses. If you’re an oyster fan, look no further, Haven has some bad ass oysters. I prefer the Kumamoto Oysters myself but all are fresh and good. I recently came here for my friends birthday brunch. We took part in the prefix brunch menu which is pretty generous. For about 26 bucks you get 2 drinks(mimosa or bloody mary) and your choice of an entrée. The options for the entrees are extensive and whether you’re feeling breakfast or lunch, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your craving. They have a lot of non typical brunch items on their menu as well, like the breakfast risotto… next time I need to try that. I was boring on this particular day and just went with classic eggs benedict. It was good though, I liked that hollandaise sauce. It also came with a small side salad and some potato wedges, yum. Service was good and on point, which wasn’t easy since we were a rather large party. Haven also does happy hour during the week from 5 – 8. They offer cheaper appetizers and drinks, pretty good deal. But keep in mind this happy hour special only applies if you sit inside at the bar area. That’s my only complaint about Haven. You have awesome outside seating with a killer view, let your customers enjoy the happy hour outside, it wont kill you! P. S. — parking can be tough but they have valet for $ 5…just do the valet, it’s worth it.

Premium Food Quality + Generous Entrée Quantity + Superior Service + Breathtaking Waterfront Views + Relaxing Atmosphere = HAVEN’S Perfection :) ***GPSALERT — Use 45RIVERROAD only if your GPS doesn’t recognize the street address posted here. This will bring you to Edgewater Harbor, where this FANCYEATERY is located.*** My parents and I thought about dining out at an upscale restaurant in the state. After hearing a lot of hype about this restaurant, we decided to dine in here. The long ride from Central Jersey to here was worth it. Finding a parking spot for this place was no issue at all. When we walked in, we were greeted by two friendly ladies at the front desk. After we told them about our reservation, we were guided to our table. A few minutes later, our friendly waiter came and gave us water. I also ordered a 7-UP soda(they should really consider serving premium soft drinks like Abita Root Beer instead of just standard Pepsi products…). After the waiter came back with my soda, he took our food orders. This restaurant also hypes about the waterfront views outside. During our waiting period, I stepped outside to enjoy the breathtaking views of the waterfront with the NYC skyline in the backdrop. This was the perfect opportunity for anyone to snap some photos, selfies or panoramas of the NYC skyline as he or she waited for the food inside, or to dine outside. This was really enjoyable. Also, as we waited, our waiter gave us each one big slice of multi-grain bread with a small tray of herbal butter for us to share. The bread tasted hot and fresh, and the butter had a lot of flavor. This was satisfying. Later, our orders came. My mom and I ordered one entrée, while my father ordered items from the separate Prixe Fix menu. For the Prixe Fix menu, the patron had to choose an appetizer or salad, one entrée, and one dessert, just from that separate menu. For this, he chose the Pretzel Crusted Fried Calamari as a starter, and the Braised Creekstone Farms Short Ribs. We’ll get to the dessert later. :) The fried calamari was coated with the pretzel crust, and came with a separate mini tray of mustard scallion remoulade and spicy marinara sauces for dipping. The size was perfect for sharing, and we all liked it. The Braised Creekstone Farms Short Ribs was presented well and came with caramelized kimchi, roasted brussel sprouts, and carrots. The meat sat on top of a pear squash purée sauce, and surrounded by a garlic-brandy sauce too. My dad liked that, and so did I after trying a little piece. My mother ordered the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass. Also presented well, this came with the parsnip purée, asparagus-corn-bean succotash, and surrounded by a loop of kumqaut citron sauce. She said this was the best sea bass that she ever had. I had the Spice Crusted Filet Mignon. This well-presented entrée came with Chinese green beans, a spring potato croquette topped with a moroccan date marmalade, and piles of dried carrot dust. The cremini pearl onion bourguignon sauce was under the meat. The filet mignon was delicious with the right amount of spices, and the sauce on the bottom made the taste a lot better. The potato had a rich flavor and a crispy crust, and the string beans tasted fresh. Perfection at it’s finest. :) For the last part of the Prixe Fix menu, my dad ordered the Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sundae. In addition to the flavored ice cream, this was mixed with chocolate granola, peanuts, butterscotch, and topped off with MALT foam. The size was big enough for all of us to share together. We could see why this was a popular item — the taste sensation was simply divine! The service was superior. The waiting times for the food was minimal, and our main waiter had a pleasant attitude. He even took the time to briefly lecture us on some of the ingredients that was utilized for our dishes. Soda and water refills came very quickly. The atmosphere was low-lighted with unique decorations throughout the restaurant. Down-tempo lounge music played in the background. I even recognized one of the songs that was played(«Breathe» — Telepopmusik), even though I now jam to an accelerated dance remix of that. ;) All of this resulted in a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere for anyone without dealing with rowdy, uncivilized behavior. This restaurant COMBINESQUALITY&QUANTITY. This means for the high price you pay, you get a GENEROUS amount of PREMIUM food, just like NCL Breakaway’s HAVEN Restaurant. This also means you get leftovers, too. But some of the other fancy restaurants aren’t like that. This was WORTH the long ride from Central Jersey, and we WILL be back for more great food and views. We would especially like to come back when it gets dark earlier in the evening so we could dine and enjoy the views of the city lights. :)

So came here late on a Sunday with a group of 6 of us. The place is in a nice location, with some nice designs. What I really enjoyed about this place is, it offers both a bar scene and a restaurant, which is pulled off well to separate one from the other. Service here was great, Johnny our waiter made great recommendations and definitely was attentive. The food here was all made to order(it take some time)…but it was worth the wait. Take a look for yourself at the dishes. I can’t say anything here was medicore or bad. Everything was from good to great. The shrimp and pretzel calamari were amazing. Never had calamari like that had anything to do with pretzels lol Dessert was delicous. Downside is I found it a little pricey for the experience. Still I enjoyed it and would come back.
