A surprisingly nice Turkish café. Came here for a afternoon tea/snack. Lahmacun tasted very authentic and the Turkish tea I ordered were great as well. Will come back next time

Stop by this delightful café on the way to Hoboken. I was planning to only grab a coffee but decided to extend the stay after glancing over the menu. After all, the menu did look very authentic and I wanted to properly enjoy my Turkish coffee. In addition to coffee, I also ordered the Lahmacun and was seated in its spacious dining area, which reminds one of Mediterranean. The folk Turkish music playing in the background adds to the Mediterranean ambience. The Lahmacun was an absolute surprise, the crust was thin and crispy while the minced meat covering the crust gave it a distinctive taste. Think this as a pizza with a Turkish twist! The staff was super nice to us. Best of all, the price was very reasonable — a serving of coffee, a cup of tea and a tray of Lahmacun were less than 10 dollars. I can’t wait to come back and try the full menu! This place has definitely won over my taste buds.

Really good food, authentic décor topped off with Turkish music. Came to try the brunch we decided to go family style and try more food. Turned out to be the way to go. Very happy I tried this today.

Seriously fantastic Turkish restaurant !!! I’m in heaven. Lamb with eggplant(babaganush) absolutely amazing. Meat was so soft and juicy. Mommy had grilled veggies with rice pilof so delicious. I think you don’t need to be familiar with Turkish food to eat here. Margarita pizza superb. Tasty Thin crust, mozzarella taste like a home made mozzarella cheese. We always ask for well done pizza because everyone makes undercooked crust. In this restaurant we forgot to say well done and it was perfect color crust. Babaganush amazing smoky eggplant yamm. Thank you

Food was ok. Service was not very attentive. Wasn’t impressed with the Sunday brunch. The only item worth mentioning was the complimentary bread basket that they serve after you order.

The food was delicious and the service was great. Everyone I came with completely loved it. That its BYOB is definitely a plus. The only negative thing I can say is that their $ 10 calamari app was the smallest order of calamari I’ve ever seen.

Marmaris is one of the best Turkish restaurant you can go to in northern nj. The next best is going to turkey and eating there. We have been to Marmaris multiple times and were never disappointed. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Decent amount of parking on site. Their menu is quite extensive. Our favorites are lahmacun and pides. Try it and you will not be disappointed. Their dealers are also really good. If you want something on the lighter side try milk based deserts such as sütlac or kazandibi, if you want a more traditional taste definetely order künefe. Do not forget to pair it with authentic Turkish coffee or tea.

I’m giving this review 3 starts for the following. He food was amazing but the service kind of sucked. The waitress never came by our table to make sure everything was ok, but visited the table of Turkish customers more than 4 times. Hmmmm. Did I mention that the food was good? Ok, just checking.

This place is a perfect place to go if you are looking for an exotic turkey restaurants. My friends and I visited this place on a sunny Saturday morning. We ordered: Menemen(Egg dish), Panini with Spicy Sausage & Kasseri Cheese, Penne Shrimp & Artichoke pasta, yogurt dipping, turkish coffee, and Baklava.(yes we ordered a lot) I have to say they served pretty amazing qualitative dishes. The foods were ridiculously authentic, and fascinating. Menemen(turkish-style scrambed eggs) were absolutely gorgeous. It was definitely a scramble egg, but not the ordinary ones that we use to eat in the mornings. The texture, the scent, the balance was great. Panini with spicy sausage and kasseri cheese. Although we all wished there were more meat(spicy sausage) inside the panini, we still enjoyed it. The cheese was great tho. Penne Shrimp & Artichoke Pasta. Perfect balance of pasta. Although this wasn’t a authentic turkish food, we found it very enjoyable. Turkish Coffee was very strong and was full of flavor and scent. It was very interesting. I don’t think I would every order it again tho. Baklava was speechless. Just order them after your meal, and you won’t regret it.

I LOVE Marmaris. This is the epitome of a relaxed meal. It is like being in Europe where meals are long, never rushed, to have great conversation over a cup of coffee. marmaris is not the place to go for a quick meal. Do not come here if you are in any sort of rush. This is for the times when you want to catch up and enjoy the company of who you’re with. I’ve come for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is my favorite, I’m a big fan of the savory plate. The décor is also beautiful inside. The chairs are all roomy and very comfortable.

I always get the Lamb Shish Kebab and they have always been one of the best! I have been to about 4 Turkish/Mediterranean recently and I would pick this spot as 1st to 2nd out of 4 places which are all very good. Chicken Shish Kebab and Shrimp Shish Kebab are also a good choice if you like Shish Kebabs. Interior is very neat and the lighting is deem which I really like. Gives you an intimate atmosphere. Waitresses are all very attentive as well. When the weather is warmer, you can also sit outside looking down the steep parking lot and lots of cars on the River Road if a car spotting is your thing.

We rarely come here anymore. — Prices increased — you can compare photos of the old menu to their online menu. E.g. at least one of the pasta dishes had a 33% increase from $ 9 to $ 12. I know it can be unavoidable, but I can’t convince my better half to come here anymore. — The parking lot is often full. And nearby street parking has towing zones. — We have placed late Friday night Seamless orders for pickup before and had a tsk tsk in person because we ordered close to closing.

Plates are large and dishes are delicious. Strongly recommended :) Turkish Lahmacun was great, full of meat. Besides, lamb sac tava is very delicious. Even better than the ones in Turkey. The plate is large you can share it with your friend. Great place for couples and families. Next time I will try Turkish Breakfast which seems very nice. Great service and hospitality.

I first came to this restaurant with my close Turkish friend who raved about this restaurant for their clean kitchen and authentic taste with reasonable price. The interior makes you feel like you are in Europe and not Jersey. It makes you feel like you are having an authentic Turkish dining experience. I ordered their pastrami pide which is the equivalent to our pepperoni pizza. The taste was savory yet felt very light while giving you that warm feeling inside. It was not too greasy and the dough was very soft and crispy at the same time. However my favorite has to be their Turkish Breakfast Platter. I love the clean, fresh feeling you get when eating this platter and the special butter mixed with honey was just the best topping of the platter. All the while the Turkish tea with your meal is what makes the entire dining experience. When dining at this restaurant I would recommend bringing in a Turkish friend who knows what to order, other than that it is hard to know what is good or bad :)

Amazing — Lamb Tandir(I had the appetizer with«icli» plav), lahmacun, yaprak ciger. Shepard salad was the only item that was not on target. Great Turkish hospitality just to top it all. Definitely will come back.

Disappointed– doesn’t live up to the hype. The food’s meh in comparison to closeby alternatives like Cinar and Dayinin Yeri in Cliffside Park– just go up Gorge Rd, and TADA, 5 star(both are 4.5 stars on Unilocal), mind blowing Turkish food. I can’t help but compare, which results in a 2 star. The atmosphere is much better with spacious seating and very cute Turkish decorations. The outdoor seating is awesome and you can bring your furry friend. That’s about the two only good things. The remainder made me want to cry. Service sucked, but I am editing part of this after having been contacted about footage that shows it didn’t take a full 10 minutes to take my order like I said. Regardless, my recollection stands — I do remember having to wave someone down at the counter, who then nodded, and no one came for a while. First of all, there should be no wait when a restaurant is practically empty. The food may have been prepared quickly, but we’re not talking about what the chefs are doing — I’m talking about the actual service by waiters/waitresses. No one came back to ask us how the food was, and someone should’ve come to ask, «are you ready to order/do you need help in selecting what you’d like?» — the standard service. No, we had to ask first — my point being, when a restaurant is NOTBUSYATALL, what is the hold up? This type of holdup and lackluster service is understandable when a restaurant is at least remotely busy. And when I ordered a salad as appetizer, why wouldn’t you tell me that the entrée comes with a garden salad? Definitely uncool and substandard. The veggies that came with the chicken kebob– what is this? It’s barely steamed. They were CRUNCHY. Ugh. The chicken kebob lacked flavor– very bland and quite dry. SO said the lamb kebob was realllly dry and flavorless as well. Completely underwhelmed and unimpressed. In fact, I left pretty PO’d– wasted stomach space and calorie count for seriously unworthy food. Ummm, and what’s the deal with the hot sauce? I asked for it and they gave me hot wing sauce. Thanks but no thanks– sticking to the numerous other yummy Turkish restaurants in the vicinity. _____ UPDATE: please note that I am not going to tolerate anyone messaging racist slurs for writing an honest review about my experience here.

Definitely one my favorite Mediterranean restaurants around this area. I always order hummus to start– GETIT. The bread is amaze balls. and the char grilled sea bass as my entrée. I personally didn’t like the bulgur I prefer the baked potato or rice instead. Orrrrr if you want to be extra healthy double up on salad ! My gf got the shrimp Kebobs and it was fantastic. Definitely recommend. And my bf got a chicken dish that wasn’t a kebob and it was okay. I’m not a big fan of saucy things. But this dish was in a mini shallow wok looking thing. And had diced up chicken and peppers. Wasn’t a big fan. Service is excellent. I don’t have any complaints in this area. The outside seating is perfect for a nice sunny day. And don’t worry about the slow service. They always keep an eye out for you!
