I’m a regular at Sam’s Market. And, I will agree that for a small market they seem to have everything you need. I was in there today getting a bowl of soup(more on that later) and while I was waiting for my order, I walked the aisles. They are stocked. Now, about the soup. First, we love their grill, and their sandwiches and burgers are absolutely the best. Home made. Their fries are the best around too. Second, they have a rotating menu of soup specials. Today it was Maryland Crab. I’m a seafood«expert», and so I ordered a bowl. It was delicious! I’m not sure if it’s made there or somewhere else, but it VERYGOOD. The service is very good. They are very friendly people. You just have to say hi!

I’m not sure how this was labeled a supermarket as it is a small independently owned convenient store. The previous Unilocaler is correct though, for a small store, they have an unbelievable selection of grocery items… need yeast? No problem. Horseradish sauce, yep got that too along with the usual munchies, candy and ice cream. Their little deli counter does some good business. They offer some really nice specials and even serve things like biscuits and gravy for breakfast. We have had their bagel, egg, cheese, bacon sandwiches and they were very tasty. I think they might get their fresh donuts from that Thai/donut shop on Mayo Road cause they really are good. Sam’s also does a nice lunch business offering subs and burgers. Since they sell their meat and cheese by the pound as well, your sandwich order usually comes with a generous on the spot slicing from the counter lady. Prices are very reasonable and our recent roast beef and turkey sub was flavorful and filling. It’s nice to have a neighborhood place like this especially if you need just one or two items. Anyone who lives on the Mayo peninsula knows what a drag traffic has become just to get to Rt. 2 and the bigger stores.

As my hubby can tell you, I frequently am missing one ingredient for whatever I’m setting out to make. It’s amazing how often Sam’s will have that one thing. Service, while not chatty, isn’t unfriendly(no one’s ever groused about my $ 3 credit card purchases-I’m also hopeless at carrying cash) and in these instances it’s worth the convenience store markup not to leave Mayo!
