Really good Denny’s! Brand new and has a cool retro look. Very few food options in the east mountain communities outside of Albuquerque. Nice to have a national chain come in that isn’t fast food. The place is always clean, seems well run, and they didn’t jack up the prices just cause it’s in Santa Fe county. We eat here about once a week. Never any problems, but due to lack of restaurants in the area it gets really busy and understandably a little slow at dinner time.

What. The. Hell. We usually go to Katrinah’s when we’re in town on Sundays but thought we’d give Denny’s a chance, how bad could it be right? The only reason it didn’t get 1 star is two waitresses were outstanding. We get there, there’s at least 5 servers behind the counter by the front door. No one even says anything. A woman eating at the counter, who I thought was a customer, finally gets up and shows us to our table. The place is FREEZING. Waitress does a good job. I get pecan/banana pancakes that come with a side of egg whites and turkey bacon. See pics, I shouldn’t have to explain further. The other 5 – 6 jokers behind the counter aren’t doing anything and one is «…ready to get the F outta here…» One table has napkins and paper leveling out the table, c’mon, it’s a brand new place and there are table levelers on the bottom! Couple ceiling tiles askew but ok, fine. Waitress comes by to refill our drinks as we’re getting our check, but whatever, we were ready to go. The final touch? We get up front to pay, all of the 6 – 7 jokers from behind the counter are long gone even though maybe another 6 people came in after us, it was Sunday brunch hour too. A waitress who literally just came in, hadn’t even put down her coat and purse, noticed us, stopped, put her stuff down, and cashed us out. SHE should be the one running the place if she’s not already. Verdict? GOTOKATRINAH’s down the street! ps– pancake balls are like hot little donuts, get them

As far as Dennys go, this one is shiny and new, really cute retro style. It’s clean and well staffed. The crew is young, energetic and friendly. We’ve gone a few times now and the food is fairly consistent. New Bourbon Bacon Burger very good. Not bad for a small town… Granted, it’s one of the few local date night options, too. Too bad, there’s no mood lighting or sexy music. Lol
