Very disappointed when my brother’s family visiting from Seattle wanted a cake to celebrate my niece’s birthday. I recommended Franklin Street over all the other great bakeries in town. My sister in law is a professional cheesecake baker, so rather fussy about bakery goods. As only an «eater» of bakery goods, I can only go on the basis of my own experience and a bakery’s reputation. We drove 30 miles to get the cake. It was very plain. It was also nothing exceptional to eat and on the dry side. And not inexpensive. Wuollet from here on out.

This is one of the best kept secrets in the Edina/SLP area… I am almost loathe to share with you my information because… well, damn it, I like my local bakery shop haunt. That being said, I’ll get on with it. This place loves the regulars. Loves, loves, loves. To celebrate the new year, they were giving out free coffee for a week. No purchase necessary, to go or to stay, a free cup of freshly brewed coffee. Take that Brueggers and Caribou! Also, they have an ENTIRERACKOFDAYOLDBREADFOR $.99. Seriously, french baguettes, thickly sliced sandwich bread, whole grain baguettes. I couldn’t resist, so I bought three and froze two for days when I cannot make there early in the morning. Also, they have cupcake birthday parties. No kids of my own, but it’s one of those«hey can I borrow your kid for the afternoon because I want to secretly decorate gooey cupakes with heaps of frosting and not feel like a creeper» kind of moments. The café is relatively small, but a great place to catch up. The only downfall? The chairs aren’t that comfortable… other than that, lovely lovely lovely.

I’ve only ever had one thing from FSB, the blue corn bread sticks, and they’re really, really awesome. They lose one star in my book for being a little pricey for what they are, but other than that I highly recommend giving them a try with your next batch of chili.

I don’t understand what the fuss is about. I’ve been there 3 times and I’ve had the most«remarkably unremarkable» pastries of my life. Seriously, I’m done. Cupcake was nothing to rave about, almond croissant was hard and cardboard-like, and their scones are dry and barely have any flavor.

I think we’re all getting used to the $ 3 cupcake. A great second location, and extremely roomy. The piña colada was just as delicious as it was tempting. A very nice variety of just about all your bakery needs.

Food just as good as the service! I had a meeting there with a few people last week and the staff was super friendly and very quick to make my coffee! The«goodies» we also amazing! I know we will be meeting here more often! This is a great addition to the Linden Hills neighborhood!

Good coffee, good croissants. That makes a perfect breakfast!
