Short review: If you have food allergies, especially to gluten, go here and ask for Cameron. We went here Saturday night at prime dinner time during Gen Con. It’s just another block or two away from the convention center compared to a lot of restaurants, but we were able to get a table right away. The reason for the particularly outstanding review is the chef, Cameron. We mentioned to our server that my wife has food allergies, so she brought Cameron over to our table. It turns out that he has celiac disease, too, so he understands gluten allergies. He had just cleaned the fryer and nothing breaded had been cooked in it yet, so he could make us gluten free fries and potato chips(both were excellent). He also knew exactly what kind of oil was in the fryer which other foods we had to watch out for, etc. The food was delicious(burgers, fries, chips and mashed potatoes), the service was great, and my wife didn’t get any allergen contamination. Thank you, Cameron! One last note: This restaurant is in the Hilton Garden Inn, and it’s in the process of switching it’s name from The Great American Grill to The Garden Bar and Grill. It’s quite nondescript from the outside but worth going in.
