I ordered two days in advance online, and gave the special instruction that says please deliver early in the morning, preferably before 9am. I called in at 12:30pm to check whether it has been delivered, it has not and it sos like they haven’t even processed the order, because she told me that it will be delivered in the next two hours. Edible Arrangement is not cheap. You would expect better customer service. Disappointment.

(I am writing this under my husband’s Unilocal account.) I went to Edible Arrangements two days before Valentine’s Day to buy a healthy treat for my husband. I could have easily ordered online but I wanted to see some options in person before I made my decision. I walk into the empty store and there is a young woman and a middle-aged man behind the counter. Neither greets me and both just stare at me as I come through the door. I go up to the counter facing them and I pause a second, but still no greeting. It was weird and it always surprises me when employees don’t give a good God damn about first impressions. I probably should have just left and ordered online but I was already there. «I’d like to order an arrangement.» I said. The girl points her finger to the laminated pages on the counter and says«everything’s in the book.» Not exactly«hi, how can I help you?» but fine. I was surprised there were no mock arrangements to see the sizes anywhere in the shop. Just some pictures on the wall that were not to scale. So really this was no more helpful then ordering online. I was between two arrangements and I asked for their opinion, as one looked prettier but the other looked tastier. The man recommended the one that looked prettier saying there were more berries in that one. Having learned how to count in elementary school I already knew that but he didn’t offer any other insights. I did also notice it happened to be more expensive but that was fine. I paid and told them I would be ready to pick it up at 11AM on Valentine’s Day. The girl said it would be ready at 10:30AM. I arrived at 11:10AM on Valentine’s Day, having done a little shopping elsewhere in the mall to give them time to finish up. I walk into the store and notice how nicely the employees(same girl & another guy) were interacting with the three customers ahead of me. So friendly, so nice! What a difference. Maybe I should mention that I was the only nonwhite customer in the store. Finally it’s my turn and, again, there’s no one else in the store. The same girl asks me my name. Then she asked me my name again. Then she asked me to spell it. She asks if I ordered online & I said I’d ordered in person from her 2 days ago. Then we both realize she has lost my order. I don’t know how because I was the only person in the store and they were doing NOTHING but standing there the whole time I was placing my order. She tells the other guy working there to see if there’s anything in the back. I hear him asking if there are any extra arrangements around. he comes back out and says«oh they’re just wrapping it up.» After waiting for 10 minutes I say to the lady«you said my order would be ready at 10:30AM.» «they’re just wrapping it up.» she says. I said«they’re wrapping it up because you forgot to enter my order.» They just stared at me like they’d forgotten how to talk. I asked the girl her name and she said Teresa. I asked her boss’ name and she said Brian. I asked her to get Brian. Brian comes out and he’s the same middle-age man who was there on the night I ordered. He says«I’m sorry you had to wait but it’s Valentine’s Day and we had 300 orders.» Honestly, I empathize but that was not the point. You lost my order while I was the only person in the store, no other customers, no phones ringing, nothing. Then you try to make your and your employees’ poor customer service my problem. Then, top it off with some lame apology/non apology with no mention of how you’ll try to do better in the future. I like Edible Arrangements but I will not support or recommend this storefront in the future.

Fruits delivered! Having the need to send someone special something edible, I decided to give Edible Arrangements a shot since they could deliver that day. Basically I was discussing the yummy cherries I was eating at my desk and the object of my desires was giving me a hard time about sharing said yummy cherries… since she was in another State, that made it somewhat impossible… I initially was looking for someplace that could deliver cherries, but she is a fruit eater in general so Edible Arrangements looked like the best option for surprising her. A few clicks on their website and everything was set to go. The delivery was made within a few hours and the shock factor was worth the cost. The cost was somewhat higher than I expected; they could use a little work on that. On the other hand, the fruit was all fresh and well presented, so only you can decide what your tolerance to cost is. For me, it made me look like a champ so I’m not complaining but I would not use them for day-to-day types of things. Definitely worth a shot if you want something different delivered to someone special! Yes!
