La Bagel Express

I go there for breakfast foods. Coffee is good, bacon is good (but ask them to clean the grill first) and the bagels are fresh and the right texture. The staff are not the friendliest though, no matter how nice and polite you are to them. The grill guy is amazing — works very hard and is very skilled. Everything is prepared right in front of you, which is another plus, but they gotta work on their customer service skills, or raise the pay so that the staff has a better attitude towards their work.

Came in on a Monday morning around 8:30 a.m. and was surprised to see that a bagel place is not full. Also surprised to see that there was only two people working there on a Monday morning breakfast rush hour. Other than a little bit of a slow service, I had ordered a bacon and egg on a bagel, and it was very very good. Bagels were fresh bacon was nice and crispy and the eggs were also fresh.

I live in the area and always support local business. Used to love the chicken salad here but the last time I ordered it, it was loaded with fat pieces. Thought I would give it another try. Today, at 1:45 I showed up to order for my family (was going to order six bagel sandwiches) and was told the grill was closed. 1 hour and 15 minutes before closing! This is the 5^th or 6^th time this has happened when trying to order here — sometimes 2 hours before closing. The staff is the rudest, most unprofessional staff I’ve ever encountered. When I asked for the name of the owner, one of the guys started laughing and said «Jaaaaayyyy». I repeated «Jay?» and he stayed quiet. I insisted on a name and I got «James.» When I asked when he would be in to contact, I got more laughing and was told he owns 4 stores, so I’ll never reach him. I asked who the manager of this store is and he snapped, «we don’t have a manager.»
I will never spend another penny in this kind of establishment. Clearly the staff and management doesn’t care about good business, and staff like that I DEFINITELY don’t want handling my food.

Exactly what you’d expect. The bagels were fresh and good. The coffee was warm. The prices are very reasonable and they are quick.

If you enjoy your sanity, then never go here! They yell at the customers, get the orders wrong, give your food to the wrong person, and seriously don’t care.
They gave my order to the wrong person. When I said ‘hey that was my order’ they said no it was his. I insisted that it was mine, because I watched it being made, and they finally realized that I was right. This was after waiting over 30 minutes for a bacon egg and cheese.

Go here about once a month for breakfast sandwiches. Everything is good and my order is always correct. I do like the bagels here. Staff really hustles too. Breakfast for two with juice is about $ 12.

Being a bagel fanatic, this has and always will be my absolute favorite bagel place. I go out of my way just to get one and have never been disappointed. Staff are so friendly and I always make sure I tip them (especially since I’m in the restaurant business…). I have my top 3 bagel places, and this will always remain number 1. They make the bagels at their other location on rt 27 and if you’re lucky enough to get their at the right time, you will get one straight from the oven. NOTHING BEATS THAT! Definitely try their chive cream cheese (homemade, of course!). Not only do they have the best bagels and home fries, try their tuna. Overall, just a great place.

My boss and I were here before a client meeting. The food was fast and looked good. It’s family owned and there are clearly locals that come so it is really nice to go to.
I would come back if I was in the area.
Oh — the designs on the outside that tell you which type of bagel is which are really cute.

Average bagel flavor — but not up to snuff compared to others in area. The room is far too small, with narrow aisle for both people waiting to order and those of us who want to sit at the small tables and eat. They always seem in a rush and are making others sandwiches and grill items, so it’s hard to order a bagel.
