This was a tale of highs and lows. The egg roll was terrible– tasted like cleaner. Zero stars. The sauce on the general tsao’s was very sweet, and was not very spicy, but the chicken was good and crispy. 2 stars. The steamed dumplings had a very thin wrapper, and the meat inside was odd. The sauce I liked, wife not so much. 2 stars. The garlic chicken was sweet and didn’t taste like garlic at all, but the veg were nicely cooked. 3 stars. The rice was sticky and sweet, 3 stars. The lo mein was great, nice and tasty, and well cooked veg. 4 stars. The crab rangoon were some of the best I’ve ever had– good filling and not oily. 5 stars. NOAMMEX here, but friendly staff and quick service. Price was also nice. Not the best Chinese food, but not the worst.

This is a Chinese takeout place right off Route 1 near Old Post Rd, next to 711, Dunkin Donuts and a big Asian grocery store. Good food and very friendly service. It’s pretty clean for a takeout place. There are a few tables and chairs for eat-in. It’s run by a very nice, hardworking couple. They even try to accommodate special requests. I think this place went through an ownership change about a year ago, so if you haven’t tried it lately, I’d recommend trying it again.

Something changed… This place was great for years. Now everything is different both the quality of the food and the way it is prepared are not good

When in need of quick cheap take out Lam’s fit the bill. Located right next to an Asian supermarket for a double dip. A quart of roast pork lo mein @ $ 9 and combo lunches from $ 5.50 to $ 6.75& combo dinners @ $ 8.That’s a good bang for your buck in anyone’s book. The portions are ample and the dishes that we’ve sampled have been good for Americanized Chinese take out. Flavorful without gelatinous goop, we we’re quite surprised. i didn’t notice any truly authentic dishes on the very typical to go menu. No ambiance, music, décor what so ever. A couple of tables, but it’s obvious this place is all about get it and go. A defined identity is what makes any place good, a lack of deliberate charisma extenuates the plain fact that they’re not posing as a fine dining joint by any stretch of the imagination. So come and get it in a pinch and by all means go.

I’ve only been here once, but out of all the Chinese take out places around my area, I’d say this is probably the best one. The price is reasonable and the food is flavorful. Plus, you can walk to the supermarket that’s right around the corner to pick up more snacks or drinks. Like most Chinese takeouts, my dinner entrée combo came with fried rice which was surprisingly good. Didn’t seem as greasy too compared to others. The only problem is that the chicken dishes(general tso’s, sesame chicken, etc.) is ¾ flour and ¼ meat. Overall, not too bad. Will be back for more!

This place has the best fried dumplings in Edison. I also enjoy the singapore chow mei fun but if you prefer moist noodles you should ask for some sauce on the side. All of the ingredients used in the menu are fresh and the dishes are very flavorful without the excess oil you get frm other chinese restaurants. Highly recommended.

I had been going to this take out place since 2005. Their lunch special is a great value. My favorite dishes are kopo chicken and young chow fried rice, their hot and sour soup are delicious as well especially if you like a dose of spicy.
