It’s a very good place for copy and print services. You can use the copy machines yourself, have them make the copies, or have them print out items straight from your flash drive. They have handled some difficult copy and print jobs for me with patience, courtesy, and accuracy, including some items that needed reconfiguring to print out properly. I took off one star for the store as a whole because the selection of office supplies and the customer service on the floor isn’t the best.

I was shopping the store located Edison, NJ(Store #637) on Friday 4÷6÷2013. I arrived at approximately 8:20 A.M. Right in the entranceway I saw an advertisement for a laptop, part number HP2000−2A20NR, for $ 279.00. When I inquired about this laptop with one of the employees, I was informed that it was a floor model on clearance because they were getting the new Windows 8 laptops in, and they had to make room. I didn’t have time to purchase the laptop that morning, so I went back that evening after work with my family. I arrived at the store at approximately 8:40 P.M. I stood in front of a tall employee near the entranceway(he was bald and had a beard). This employee seemed to be having a personal conversation with another gentleman and completely ignored me. This was very odd to me, because usually every time that I walk into Office Depot there are at least three to four employees that ask me if I need any help. They are always extremely helpful. After I was ignored by this employee, I went to the cashier to see if she could find someone to help me. She seemed preoccupied with something at the cash register and didn’t even acknowledge me. So I walked away and went into the laptop aisle with my family in tow, and I finally found someone who was willing to help me. I inquired about the laptop that was on clearance for $ 279.00. This employee asked the bald employee about the laptop. The bald employee asked«Is he gonna buy it?». The employee that was helping me said«Yes». I waited, and the employee came back to me and my family in the aisle and said«You can’t buy the laptop, it has a cracked screen». I find it hard to believe that this laptop was put on clearance, stayed on clearance all day, and nobody noticed that it had a cracked screen. I told this employee that I would buy the laptop with the cracked screen for a discounted price. He told me «No, you don’t want laptop with a cracked screen». How does he know what I want? I have been repairing and building computers and laptops for the last 15 years. It would be no problem for me to order a screen for this laptop and fix it. When my wife asked the employee that was helping me if he could locate the laptop elsewhere at another Office Depot, he said that there were no more anywhere. I felt cheated by this encounter. I was all set to buy the laptop and an extended warrantee. I complained to corporate through their website over the weekend. The following Monday I got a call from the store manager(Wayne), saying that he received my complaint, and he had the laptop in front of him, and it was working perfectly. He then informed me that he would sell me the laptop with an additional $ 40.00 taken of the discounted price. I feel that this was an isolated incident, because I usually receive superior customer service from Office Depot. I am quite pleased with the outcome. The lesson here is that if you feel that you are being ‘wronged’, let someone know. Thank you!
