This massage was so awful that I’ve had trouble even getting the energy to explain. I think the injured are slow to talk, if they ever do– they’re just trying to recover(and forget). But as a gold belt Unilocaler, I’ve decided to relive this awful memory so that others may avoid the same fate. In addition, this«masseuse» was so awful that I’m 100% confident that there are others who also had bad experiences. I hope that they’ll feel vindicated that someone has written about it. I did not feel relaxed after this massage. In fact, I feel like I might have sustained damages. For example, I think she stretched the skin of my back in a damaging way. Several times, she pulled her hand all the way along the length of my back like she was trying to take the skin from one end and drag it to another part of my body. It was like nails on a chalkboard– but with my skin! I feel stressed again just thinking about it. When she did stay in place, it felt like she was going against the grain of the muscles, going in the wrong direction or just pulling, pushing, and prodding in a random way. There was something disconnected about her, like she was just following directions but had no idea what they even meant. It was like she didn’t understand or think about how it felt. Any layperson would have better intuition as to how to massage someone’s back. When I told her I didn’t like something, she would go to another area and do the same awful thing in a different place. Or she would do something else, but it would also be bad, or she would go back to an action that I had previously said didn’t work for me. She ran out of ideas fast– she only knew how to do a few things and they were all off base. I finally let her just massage my upper back a bit, even though she kept pressing on my bones in disconcerting ways. I told her it was wrong to massage the bone and she didn’t say anything. Then I told her it was painful and she said«pain is good.» I said, «I don’t like it.» She eased up then, but it didn’t feel good. I should’ve just gotten up and left. This brings me to the other major thing she did wrong– she talked nonstop the entire time. This is a whole nother can of worms, but to summarize it briefly, she asked me all sorts of personal questions, could not tell from my polite, reserved responses that I didn’t want to get into all this, *grabbed my ponytail* TWICE to say, «Oh, you have so much hair!» and whined about her own hair. I felt like I was on candid camera and someone was going to pop out and say, «Just kidding!» That was my brain disassociating from the situation. Actually I tried to cut the talk for the first several minutes, but after that I had learned that she was incompetent at massage and let the conversation go on because it made her do less. I had to just minimize the damage and get out alive. There is more that could be said about this all, but I’m tired and I think this is more than enough. I actually still need a massage, weeks later. I wish there were more reviews of the numerous massage places in the Edison area. They can’t all be as bad as this one. P. S. I’m annoyed at Ryan D because it was his seemingly credible review that led me to try this place. That and the fact that the woman does have acceptable phone etiquette. I think she is probably able to bring in some first time customers, but doesn’t get a lot of returns.

Unassuming location, in a shopping Plaza where Starbucks and some great restaurants are as well. Not a lot of signage promoting the place, but once you come in its a pleasant surprise, where you are greeted by the masseuse and ushered into a very clean room, and once ready are in for 60 relaxing minutes. She did a great job and even threw in the hot stones as well! Was very thorough and pressure on muscles was perfect! Definitely recommend it, no appointment necessary and for the price, it’s awesome! I’ll definitely be back!

I love this place. The therapists are so courteous, and they go out of their way to make me feel pampered. The price is excellent for the amount of time they give(and they always go at least 5 minutes extra after the timer rings). Not exaggerating — I would go here every day if I could.

I’ve been here twice so far and I’ve been very pleased with their massages. I do a lot of sports and they did an excellent job of working on my sore back and legs. They use just the right amount of pressure to relieve the stress in my muscles. Spring Spa offers the best massage in the area and for a very reasonable price.
