The grounds are nice and they are upgrading but our unit, though clean, had broken tiles in the floor and around the bathtub that should have been addressed before having a family stay here. It’s definitely not one of the nicer Wyndham resorts, but the island makes it worth it. We stayed in the Village.

Beware No internet here! We stayed at Wyndham Southpoint section, you would think a resort this large would have internet as their website says they do. However, on arrival we found that is not the case. You have to drive over to the check in building to check your internet.

This was my first time here. We arrived late at night, which was nice in that we didn’t have to wait in line to check in and get our keys, etc. The property map we were given was next to useless since it didn’t list all the street names on the property. But the staff were friendly and welcoming. We benefited greatly from the welcome packet we received the next day when the concierge staff were working. We might not have gone to Botany Bay without their recommendation and that was an amazing(and free) experience. Our condo was great. The only cons were bugs(I was not too surprised given the marshy area, so we didn’t complain), really out of date living room furniture and the lack of sound-proofing(the people above us sounded like a herd of elephants but we knew they were on vacation, too, and it was quiet enough late at night that we didn’t feel the need to complain). I concur with other users on the poor Wifi service. It’s a joke so don’t plan on doing any real work at the Wyndham. I used my mobile hotspot the whole time. I was surprised at how old and well, tired looking, both pool areas were. I expect better from Wyndham. Other than that, we spent most of our time on the beach, exploring the island and Charleston, so I can’t speak much to the other resort amenities. IMO, the Edisto complex doesn’t have their act together as much as the complexes in North Myrtle where I’ve stayed previously. But Edisto is so relaxing and beautiful that I’d consider staying here again.

We are staying at the Village at Wyndham Ocean Ridge and are extremely disappointed with maintenance and cleanliness. None of the beds in the unit had flat sheets, just wrong sized fitted sheets and a comforter. A big clump of hair was left behind by previous occupants in the bath. The outside walls are disgustingly dirty and need to be power washed. Bird droppings litter the porch floor. The entrance door is rusty. One porch chair is so dirty it cannot be used. There is no WIFI in the unit although this has always been available at every other Wyndham resort. Management seems only to be interested in pushing guests to buy timeshares rather than taking care of the property in this location.

We stayed at Marsh point, very close to multiple beach accesses, above the indoor pool, and it had an elevator. I wouldnt call our unit fully updated, it was more like on a razor thin line of being beachy and at the same time 80s or 90s feel… but I still loved it.(Accomodations were decent) The units are not very noise proof, you could hear people walking, flushing, using appliances, etc… but you dont stay at edisto beach to stay in doors anyways. It was a lovely beach town, but dont expect wifi to work, one of the wyndam sale pitchers called it «wi-try»… lol, and he hit that spot on… I know you dont come to edisto to be online, but I feel wifi is as important as a clean toilet… There were some front desk people that I couldnt care less about, but man those cleaning ladies were really pleasant… and the locals are so friendly, always acknowledging people’s presence, very nice. They had free putput golf, ping pong, bean bag toss, etc, which were nice… except for the biting flies everywhere and the excessive pollen floating around also a wyndham cabana at the beach, but no installed wifi and no access to bathrooms during the off season… wish they had key access to the bathrooms at least. Indoor Pool was nice. Due to temperamental weather, we chose to swim at the pool instead of the beach… even with the temp outside at 60, pool was nice and warm… but those darn flies kept bothering you if you didnt swim Overall, such a nice experience, other than front desk, those biting flies… fix the darn«why-try»!

if you plan on staying in wyndham owned property you had better bring a tent and stay in the parking lot at guest check in if you plan on using a their wi-fi service. Too big a company to have such poor wi-fi-service.

Wyndham is essentially the only condo style place to stay on the island, so there isn’t much competition, but the units are spacious, clean, and Bay Point has great views.

I brought my son to Edisto for his last trip before going back to school. My son is 5 so we didn’t need much space. What was supposed to be a day trip ended being overnight. I walked in and everything seemed to be fine. My son was lying on the bed on top of the comforter. There was so much trash in his hair when he got up. So that’s what I started inspected and began to find other issues. Roach eggs stuck to curtains, dead beetles stuck in webs. Payed close to $ 200 for one night. It was all worth it to make my son happy because he just wanted to stay at the beach. But the facility in my opinion was not worth it. ***UPDATE*** After speaking to the rental staff, they informed me that they hire a contractor to do the cleaning. Luckily the owner was standing there to hear what a poor job his crew was performing. Hope he takes care of this issue. If I go back, I’ll will be site to inspect EVERYTHING! The beach house was nice until the flaws slowly stayed to appear. So needless to say, I was very happy with how they handled everything.
