Academy Sports

One of my must stop places when I come back to Oklahoma. Items are very affordable and great quality.

Firstly before I go off I’ve given this place several different chances, but the customer service is the worst! If you need to get you adrenaline pumping come here and ask someone to help you find something.
Between the rudeeeeeee employees or the employees all huddled up playing with merchandise and gossiping, or not being able to find anyone, or the just flat out nutty placement of products in certain sections i really dislike this particular store. I’d rather pay 100 bucks in gas and go to one in Tulsa or 50 dollars in over night shipping from an online store. And i’m cheapppp, that’s how much i don’t care for this store.
Products: limited selection of items on anything. (big store, little sections, littler choices of selections items.)
Location: perfection!
Quality products: yes sir
Prices: lowest out of Howard’s and rookies
Customer service: like talking to cocky emo half brain dead rude 18 year olds.

My fiancé and I had a date night to check out snowboards in shops around town the other day. We were interested in upgrading our gear in preparation for a trip to Vail at the end of this month.
This conversation happened at Academy:
Me: Excuse me, where is your snowboarding section?
Sports store guy: Snowboarding? We don’t got any snowboards here.
Me: Um. It’s a winter sport, and it’s… wintertime. Why don’t you have snowboards?
Sports store guy: Why are you asking me? Ain’t no mountains around here.
Me: OMG. Are there any stores in the area that carry snowboards?
Sports store guy: Nope.
I went home, did some research, and confirmed there is ONE store in the Oklahoma City area that carries snowboards. I called them and it turns out they don’t carry the GNU line of boards.
I ended up buying everything online… Snowboard, boots, and bindings.
Pretty please stock up on snowboards in the future, Academy!

When I need sporting goods, I go here. It’s close to where I live and it pretty much always has what I need.

This academy is located right off the Broadway highway, and is easy to get to. The staff is really friendly, and they have a large selection.
Keep in mind, Edmond is densely populated (for Oklahoma), so this place is always going to be crowded. 10am on a Monday morning, and this place had a surprisingly large number of people in the store.
If there is an Academy closer, or even near as close to you, go to that one instead.
To sum up: Its quick, its convenient, and its packed. Meh.
