Walked in and was surprise at how nice the place was! Got seated right away since it wasn’t busy(Sunday afternoon). Our table ordered Honeymoon and Tempura Chicken Wings for the appetizers. Honeymoon was good, never had anything like it before. Tempura Chicken Wings were also good. They only had icon fire as the sauce even thought there were 3 sauce options on the menu. They told us there’s only one flavor, which is the icon fire. It wasn’t as spicy as we thought it would be. Very crispy and flavorful. I ordered the Devon roll. When it came out, I was thankful that I didn’t order a 2nd roll like I intended to. The rolls were huge! My roll was pretty good. Not the best I’ve had but maybe it was because of the choice of roll that I got. One downside is that the rice didn’t stick very well. As I dipped my roll into the soy sauce, some rice would fall off and that was a little annoying. Another downside is the roll itself is huge, so it had a little more rice than normal. Not sure if I like that because I like a balance of everything in my roll. Since the rolls were so big, it was hard to fit it all in one bite. For me, when eating sushi, I would like for it to all fit in one bite and chew it comfortably. So. Not a good sushi place to go to if you’re on the first date or something, if you know what I mean. It can be a little awkward? Lol. Other than those 2 downsides, everything else was good. Can’t give it a full 5 stars because it’s not the best sushi place that I’ve been to. Don’t think I would drive all the way to Edmond to get sushi since I’m from S. OKC and there’s a lot more sushi places here that I prefer more. But, if you’re in the Edmond area and want sushi, this would be a place to try out.

I’m basing this review on the fact that we feel we were scammed by the owner or manager. We ordered a $ 40 bottle of wine. The owner came to the table and informed us they were out of that choice and had in hand 2 alternative bottles for us to choose from. We chose one and enjoyed our meal. It was wonderful food and our server, Brendon was fantastic. One of the best servers we’ve ever had. Very knowledgable and attentive. We received our bill and the alternative bottle of wine was $ 90. We asked to see the owner and expressed our concerns about the price of wine choice he offered us. When your offered an alternative you expect it to be in the same price range. He showed no concern and basically said that was what we chose. Even though the food and service were great, no we won’t be going back!

I stopped in here with my daughter for lunch on a Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised at how welcomed we were, and we were immediately seated in a booth. I am not a sushi lover, but my daughter encouraged me to try it. I was very happy with the flavor of the scorpion roll I had. I will be back to try other sushi favors!

I’ve only been to café icon a couple of times due to high prices. I absolutely LOVED tropical café, so tried to love here as well due to same ownership. I really really miss tropical café’s menu… I long for a tropical club on a croissant, and especially that tropical sauce! I wish they’d have not closed tropical when they opened this joint.

I’ve been to Café Icon enough times that I can safely say, yes, I am a fan. The first times, I dined solo and service was a little iffy. I could tell the server was weirded out by solo diners(Dear waiters of the world: solo diners are NOT sad and alone, often they’re just people who want to enjoy a nice meal to themselves and not talk to anyone but you for an hour!). While the sushi always has been good, that colored my experience for a while. But lo, once I started coming here with other people, the service was much better. Café Icon has become my department’s go-to sushi spot. My personal favorite here is the Kaboom roll: it’s filled with coconut shrimp, avocado, cream cheese and topped with tempura and that oh-so yummy spicy sweet mayo. I’ve tried their signature Icon roll, but it was just ok – I am not one for the«different» rolls, though, so take what you will from that. You definitely need to have the chops to handle your chopsticks here: the rolls are quite large and can be unwieldy depending on your skill level. The ambiance is lovely – very modern and upscale casual. The music they play are instrumental covers of popular songs, which grates on my nerves sometimes because then I’m trying to figure out which song it is, etc and distracting me! LOL. Overall, though, definitely a good spot for sushi whilst in Edmond.

By far my favorite sushi restaurant. The owner is so nice and waitstaff is very helpful. I love their creativity when it comes to the sushi rolls.

This was our first time here. The setting is very attractive and clean. The ambience was nice with nice music and lighting. The food was fresh and tasted good. The menu has a very good variety as well. Our waiter, Conal was very polite and attentive and took his time to explain the menu to us. We will definitely visit this location again!

I’m not from Edmond, but here for the night. It’s the night after Thanksgiving, and I’m sitting at Icon’s sushi bar immediately across from the(one) sushi chef. I live in Dallas, yes, so you can either discount my opinion as nothing more than a Dallasite’s bitching or you can take it to heart. I’ve been narrowing my sushi preferences recently and trying snapper sashimi everywhere I go. Here I ordered Snapper Sashimi, Salmon Sushi, and Surf Clam sushi. Salmon sushi was fine but raggedly sliced, but the Surf Clam was appropriately cooked and wrapped. Rice was good! I wasn’t pleased at all with my sashimi order. Whereas the menu priced Snapper Sashimi at $ 15, I was told that they only had Golden Snapper(one of the most expensive fish in the world) and it was +$ 3. The chef cut the prized Golden Snapper into what looked like raw chicken tenders. Shape: same. It wasn’t right. It didn’t taste right. It had completely the wrong texture. Not good. I handed my sashimi across the counter to the chef and asked him to slice it in half since it was too thick. He proceeded to cut each piece in half hamburger style and put it on the bar. Not what I expected. Hip looking place, not awesome sushi.

I’ve gone to café icon a few times for lunch. The sushi is very tasty. I did have some issues with how tightly it was wrapped, but they were training a new chef. The atmosphere is really great, and I do enjoy their sushi!

I was not expecting the nice atmosphere when I walked into this unsuspecting strip mall restaurant! I was so pleasantly surprised. This is by far the best sushi I’ve had in Edmond since my favorite closed down on Broadway.(Not a huge The Sushi Bar fan). The fish is very fresh and the specials were so en pointe. I actually ordered another dish instead of dessert! They have a full bar and a decent wine selection for a small sushi establishment. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgable. There is room in the back for a large party/meeting. Great for a lunch or a date night!

Excellent service, excellent food, excellent environment, and excellent presentation! You can tell the owners and management put a lot of thought into every detail. I’m sad that it took me so long to try it! This is my new go to sushi place!

So far Icon is the best sushi I have found in Oklahoma, and I have tried many. considering it is a land locked location the fish is relatively fresh or properly thawed. other than the lack of a Saki menu I would recommend Icon.

The hubs dragged me here last weekend and the sushi was pretty much inedible. $ 60 and I threw away half the food. Very disappointed with the quality this visit — I won’t return on my dime. Update: I had hoped someone from the restaurant would see the review and reach out. A shame the management never contacted me. We spent the last 2 New Years Eves here as it was close to home and everyone liked it… not this year!

So chic and modern for a shopping center Edmond restaurant. While heading up to Edmond with CM/my boss Julie for a meeting we decided to eat while we met. Having both never been to Icon we practically read each other’s minds that, that is where we wanted to go. A productive lunch meeting and the opportunity to review a new spot made it a win win! I didn’t have the chance to view it on Unilocal before we got there so I was going in totally blinded, very unlike me. Café Icon has a large sushi lists but pairs it with a book full of pictures so you know exactly what you are ordering. This is pretty important to me when getting sushi! 5 stars for Café Icon no question. Our server was attentive and friendly. We started with green tea and the classic edamame. Between the three of us dining we also shared the seared tuna and took bites from each other’s rolls, the caterpillar roll, kaboom roll and the spicy baby. So glad I finally had the chance to stop in and can’t wait to spread the word about this Edmond spot!

This is hands down the best sushi joint in Edmond and the Oklahoma City metro area! My husband and I have been there twice and both times the owner has come to our table to introduce himself. The second time we came was for date night and the host seated us near a table with several children. The owner saw what happened and came over immediately to move us to another table away from the kids. Very classy move! As others have mentioned, the décor in this place is upscale without being stuffy. In talking to the owner, the chairs came from Italy and the lighting comes from Germany. Details are very important to the owner and it shows! As far as food goes, you can’t go wrong with either the Café Icon Signature Roll and the Phoenix Roll. Both times we ordered sashimi and both times we went with the special of the day. The owner loves to tell customers about his fish guy that calls him every week and the various places, such as Hawaii, that the fish gets flown in from. I’ve never heard of some of the fish, but all of it has been extremely fresh and very good! If you’re looking for a place with great décor, excellent service, and even better food then this is the place for you!

We came for lunch and were seated promptly. The atmosphere is very nice and trendy, and the staff and server were friendly and really helpful. The menu had great pics, which made it easier to choose. We ordered some sashimi dishes and several rolls and crêpe desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed the sashimi dishes(icon fire hamachi is awwwwesome and tuna and salmon sensation). The fish is fresh and dressings used were delightful! The rolls however were average. While they were unique and different from what I’ve had around town, they didn’t amaze me. We had the Golddigger, lotus on fire, and big apple. Rolls were rather pricy for a typical roll size. We also ordered two dessert crepes. They’re HUGE! A burrito size crêpe! We had the strawberry and pudding crêpe and the other we had strawberry banana whipped cream. Both were yum and definitely big enough to share.

Café Icon, please don’t ever slow your roll. This isn’t your typical order 2 rolls kinda place(unless you’re really, really hungry!) Yes, the rolls are insanely massive. Obvi, try to go with a group and everyone order one and share. I came here recently with family and we started with the spicy edamame. It wasn’t an «oh my gosh I ate the sun» kind of hot, but have a glass of water nearby. Being a newbie, I ordered 2 rolls — but shared! My favorites I tried of the night were the sweet potato and rock n’ roll… roll. Everything overall was fresh and flavorful. Dinner ambiance here calls for dressing up a tad(take a hot date here,) but you can totally get away with casual. The lighting is dim and the tables are spread out nicely to accommodate any size of group. Also, bar seating is available!

Have been here a few times, and it’s great food every time. A bit expensive when you get drinks etc, but overall a great atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back in the future! 2016EDIT: This is now one of our favorite spots. Although the prices are a bit higher, they are 100% worth it. Their ingredients are so fresh, and their sushi rolls are so yummy. The Shrimp Lover + Baked Salmon are two of my favorites. We’re hooked on the Crab Cigars and the Crab Cakes. I also tried my dads seafood special, and my moms salmon when we went and they would be a good recommendation. The staff always takes care of us when we go(waiter, waitresses and the manager). Overall, this place has great food and service!

My love and I decided to hit up this restaurant when perusing through Groupon. I immediately liked the Sophisticated Chic style of the restaurant. They had jazz playing, a black/white/red/silver theme, an extravagant chandelier, and an awesome light accent that constantly changed colors throughout the venue. When they are pretty packed, they either turn the music low or off so the patrons aren’t yelling over each other. It was quite dead for our first trip on a Saturday night. We were the first ones there; they seated us in the middle of the large room. Another couple showed after half an hour. I was a little jealous that they were seated in the circle area near the large window that kept the restaurant seeming very spacious. The tables are a little high, and you can’t scoot in very close, so I constantly felt like I was going to drop my food on my lap before it would make it to my mouth. I’m pretty surprised that the chopsticks they use are wooden. I actually got a splinter from them! The waiter was very attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of. Now for the food. Appetizer: Crab Cigar — Delicious! It came out piping hot and with plenty of their thai chili sauce. The Rolls: Big Apple — A large fresh roll with a white fish that features a slice of crisp apple. Beauty and the beast — Two Complimenting fresh rolls with a perfect amount of toppings. Philadelphia — Fresh and tidy. I would order any of these rolls again. They were large and tasty. The fish was pretty fresh, the wasabi had the perfect kick, and the gari was in an ideal bite size for cleansing the palate. We decided not to have dessert, but they had all kinds of cake flavor for any palate. We were a little disappointed that they didn’t have tempora ice cream. My second visit(another Groupon) resulted in a just as wonderful service experience. This time, they were packed! We had to park on the other end of the strip! The service was a little slower, but he had a couple of other tables — including one of an estimated 8 people. This time we snagged the seat next to the window in the circle area that I coveted. It was just as nice as I expected it to be. The other two areas of the restaurant are a large room near the back and a corner on the other side of the restaurant. I would dare to say that every experience at Café Icon can have a different feel depending on where you sit. On our second trip, The rolls we chose this time were just not up to par. Some of the flavors just did not mesh well and we wouldn’t order any of them again. A couple were okay… but we’ve had so many better rolls. Appetizer: Spicy edamame — pretty small for the price. The Rolls: Fisherman’s — If you really like panko, you just might like this. Louisiana — Their icon sauce really took over the Crawfish. Stop N Go — Individually, I like all of the ingredients — not so much separately. Firecracker — The only time we would come again, save for a half off deal, is to try their Lava Stone. It seems to be an experience in food that is a must try — you cook your own food in front of you on a lava stone. They do offer to cook it for you if you want to skip that part. Otherwise, there are several other sushi places that have delicious fish at a much more attractive price. I don’t want to name drop in another review, but I can think of a similar high end sushi place with a similar atmosphere and slightly lower prices. The prices at Café Icon aren’t really backed up in flavor or portion size.
