My wife and I bought a storm shelter for our garage from GFS last August and have had a magnetic cover(provided by GFS) over it since then. We just attempted to stock it with some supplies to get it ready for this storm season and were unable to open the door. It was not locked, and we had the slide open which prevents it from being accidentally opened. After quite a struggle we were able to get it open about 3 inches but it won’t budge anymore. I called the after hours number and spoke to someone who didn’t seem to give a shit and was told he would pass my info on to someone else who«might get in touch tomorrow». The only thing I was able to do was pull the sliding door directly up and take it off, something my wife would NOT be able to lift in the case of an emergency if she was alone. It’s almost like the door has warped or expanded slightly or something since the day it was installed. Real quality. I am beyond furious at this, if we had had this happen during an actual situation, we would be totally screwed and out $ 4,000 for absolutely no feeling of safety. I would save yourself the $ 4,000 and just dig a hole in your yard instead of giving these assholes any of your money.

These people have been so amazing to deal with in getting our storm shelter installed. I called them in March and put down a small deposit. We got the shelter installed in mid-May. They were worth the wait. They are up front about the costs of the shelters and put them on their web page. The shelter we got was the 2nd largest. It is very spacious and the shelter looks nice. There was damage to our driveway. I thought for sure I was going to be told that GFS wasn’t responsible for the drive way damages… but they acknowledged that their equipment caused the damage and repaired the damage without any major issue. Would recommend this company to everyone wanting a hassle free experience and a quality storm-shelter. Thanks
