Wanted a burger & onion rings. The burger was delicious, flavorful and fresh. The onion rings were very plain and had no flavor.

I ordered the chicken strips with a baked potato. Both items were over cooked and the chicken was rubbery. Let’s just say, my dogs were very happy tonight. I will not be back

Disappointing… I won’t be coming back. I really don’t see why this place is still in business.

Johnnies is an EDMOND, Oklahoma staple. It’s been around for decades. If you go, don’t get creative. Just order what they do best and you will not be disappointed. Try a bacon cheese burger with their super big onion rings. It great. Try the chocolate pie for dessert.

Such a bad food experience, it is really sad that restaurant used to be one of my favourite

Burgers and Fries Oh Meh… Someone suggested I try Johnnie’s Charcoal Burger and maybe my sites were set too high, but I was disappointed. I have no major complaints, but nothing was special. The burger, fries, and service were okay, but bland. The chocolate pie was great and combined with free wifi and a clean, comfortable environment I bumped the review up from a 2 up to a 3. I may give this a second try, and sample other menu items to see if the results are different. Nothing bad, but a little overpriced for what I got.

Best Burgers!!! Do yourself a favor and order a #9 and you will be in for a real treat! The Johnnie’s sauce is amazing and unlike any other sauce I’ve had on a burger! Johnnie’s is kid friendly and my kids love their kids menu items. Don’t skip out on an order of onion rings(go ahead and get a large) they are the best I’ve ever had! We eat at Johnnie’s every time we come in town and its always great!

NOTVERYGOODATALL! The onion rings were BLAND, the burgers were NOT very tasty, their fries tasted burnt(old oil), and their hickory dipping sauce was marinara sauce. The cheese on the burgers were sprinkles of something that resembled chz and the burgers weren’t even warm enough to melt the chz. It cost $ 25 for 2 burgers(old fashioned. Chz Brg) and there were 10 workers standing around in the kitchen doing nothing. Maybe that’s why it’s so over priced.

It’s alright. Fries and Onion rings are pretty good. Hamburgers are a bit pricey for not asking how I want it cooked. Johnnie’s sauce taste like cheap pizza sce. The way the establishment and menu are set up isn’t intuitive ATALL. Why pay when I pick up? So I can watch my food get cold? Wasn’t easy to order, wasn’t easy to eat. I don’t need to come back. But if you want an interesting new take on a burger, try this place out. The cheese + sauce make for a unique burger.

I grew up in Edmond and the last time I visited Johnnie’s was back in HIGHSCHOOL!(which was only a few years ago… wink wink) I’m happy to see this place is still a staple in Edmond and just as busy as I remember it being back then. The set up hasn’t changed at all, but the restaurant looks well maintained and clean. The burgers are delicious and, with such a lengthy menu, you’re sure to find one that tickles your fancy. We opted for the cheeseburger(theta style) and, while the Johnnie’s sauce is yummy, it makes for a very messy burger so next time I’ll probably just opt for the regular cheeseburger. The fries are a good addition to any meal, and large portion so perfect for sharing. While the onion rings look super appetizing, they are a bit bland… so make sure you get some ketchup or BBQ sauce for dipping. I was surprised to see they even have a few salad options. My dad had a grilled chicken salad and it looked decent(but if you’re going to Johnnie’s, a burger is DEFINITELY the way to go!)

Love the burgers and onion rings. They make everything fresh so it might take a couple of extra minutes but its worth it. The onion rings are made fresh all day long.

It’s OK, more than a little overrated. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. Be prepared to wait for a hideous amount of time in the drive thru

I rarely eat burgers but I had the classic burger the other day. It was very good.

I’ve eaten at Johnnie’s, not by choice, about 8 – 10 times during the last 4 years or so with family. I really don’t see why people like the place so much. I hear it is because of the sauce they put on burgers — which is not as good as A-1(which is ok itself I guess, but usually used to cover up a bad burger). The burgers at Johnnie’s resemble a combination of greasy meat and sawdust. I question how much beef is in them. I shudder to think what else is in there. The onion rings are indeed good, a high point for those who like them. Fries tend to be limp. You’ll find much better food at nearly any chain(Mc’Ds, etc.) and I’m not a big fan of those either, but at least you’d pay a little less. Much better burgers anywhere else. They must be living off their image in the minds of people who live in the area, because it sure isn’t from the quality of their food. Yikes.

Gimme a Theta Burger every time! I love Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler as the food is delicious. We use the drive through these days and eat it at home. The best part about the drive through is that you get to eat sooner, the worst part is that your car gets a new scent for a few days. Rumor is this chain has changed hands several times on the last 15 years and I think the quality may have slipped a notch(and the prices have inched up a bit). Even with these changes, I give Johnnie’s a thumbs up. Try the Theta with a ½ order of onion rings. You’ll be glad you did.

Had the number 8 Cheeseburger and a sweet tea. The shredded cheese makes it! Good burger! Hot fries! And good fast service!

Highly overrated. I’ve been to Johnnie’s a great many times, including multiple special events in which my family booked their private dining room. This place is essentially a Carl’s Jr. with more comfortable seating. Likes: The food has some flavor, which is always a huge plus. They do have a decent private dining room with a low price tag. The onion rings are okay. Dislikes: Food is greasy as hell and WAY overrated. The burgers have tiny patties compared to places like Interurban and Red Robin, and the options kinda suck. You also pay the same amount for a smaller burger. The service is often fairly poor as well, and the seating is regularly dirty. Seriously, I’d rather eat at Carl’s Jr. and save $ 3 – 4 than eat at Johnnie’s. It’s nowhere near the same universe as some of the better sit down burger joints.

Was visiting central OK for a week. Asked a few people where to get a good burger and they told me to go to Johnnie’s. I had a cheeseburger with Johnnie’s sauce and some cheese fries. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Shredded cheese I believe? Huge pickles(me likey). And they put on mayo AND Johnnie’s sauce — very nice combo. Johnnie’s sauce is a bit tangy — like a bbq/ketchup hybrid, I’d say. Wish I was hungry enough to try the desserts. Pecan pie and apple dumplings looked pretty tasty. I’d go back again.

Any time we make the trip from Dallas to visit the family, this is a must have. I typically snag the #9. Always a well-seasoned, juicy piece of meat with plenty of cheese and Johnnie sauce. Man oh man, I’m sitting in Dallas right now wishing there was one closer. When you go, do yourself a favor and get some of the cheese fries, an order of onion rings and some pie. You may hate yourself later(or me for making such a calorie laden recommendation), but your personal trainer, cardiologist and dentist will all welcome the additional work. And the euphoric state your taste buds enter just as you begin to slip into a digestion induced coma are well worth it.
