We asked Kreggers to redo all the carpet in our house and then repair tile that we needed to get fixed. They were recommended by a well-connected friend, and we had every reason to believe that they would do a great job. They did not. We agreed to a time when they would do the work. We needed it done in a certain time frame due to the sale of our house. They called 2 days before the work was supposed to be done, said they had trouble with A DIFFERENT customer, and said they’d need to push us back. The trouble seemed to be – though I can’t be positive — not getting into the home of the other customer when they expected. Why then did they not start us at that point, I am not sure. We were told that they would get the work done Friday and Tuesday instead of Friday Saturday. I noted that we needed it done before the weekend, the guy on the phone told me he would work on that and call me back. He did not call me back. The workers arrived on Friday, and to their credit, installed all the carpet that day. When I arrived at the end of the day, it was chaotic. First, the person who was to fix the tile ‘went to another job in Norman’ according to one of the workers present. I was given no idea about what this then meant for the job he was supposed to do at my house. The worker said«i’m just a carpet guy.» Not helpful. I called the main store, and was told pointedly and in an unkind tone of voice that they had done their best to get all the carpet in on that day and they would finish sometime the following week — could be Tuesday, could be later in the week. The woman on the phone mentioned that I’d have to talk to so-and-so if I wanted a different answer. She then noted I couldn’t talk with him until Tuesday. Thanks. The woman on the phone then called back to say that the tile person didn’t have the necessary materials with him — she implied that I should have purchased them. This was not in our agreement, so I took exception to that assertion. Two things, in addition to the delays of about a week without keeping in touch with us, I found quite annoying. First, the carpet workers put drinks all over the kitchen, spilled them on the counter, and did not clean it up. When you are selling a house, this is a problem. All the floors in the house had to be mopped because of the dirt they tracked on them. I understand it won’t be ‘clean clean’ but please clean up after yourself? To take the cake, one of them used a toilet in our house(to poop), and it was clogged — with feces floating around in there. Had we not said something, it would have remained so – that would be awful if we had a showing of our house. It was also extremely rude to leave a poop clogged toilet in our house. I brought it to the worker’s attention. I got an ‘uh-oh’ type of response, with no indication that he would take care of it. I went to a local store to buy a plunger, and got back and it had been fixed. It just struck me that the group was poorly supervised, not trained in professionalism, and the ‘home store’ woman who I talked with was just rude. Not the kind of people who deserve repeat(or first time) business.
