We ate lunch here after noticing their lunch buffet sign as we headed to the Jason’s Deli restaurant next door. I’m not a big fan of buffets but I figured it would be a fair enough introduction to the restaurant and at least give us an idea of whether we should come back for the real dining experience. The inside of the restaurant has a very nice, casual atmosphere. You see straight back into the kitchen as you enter and then all of the seating is on your right going along a wall that has been decorated with a variety of small paintings up for sale by local artists(?). There are some India-themed art pieces mixed in as well. The earthy color scheme and distressed floor paint gives the place a very comfortable feel. A few of the items on the buffet were disappointing and a few were good. The fish curry and chicken tikka masala were both disappointing. The curry dish was completely devoid of any spiciness. The flavor was okay, but it didn’t have the heat that I normally expect from Indian curry dishes. I assume this is a buffet issue since they need to cook for the spice-fearing masses. The chicken tikka masala was just bland. I guess its not really a native Indian dish so my complaint is like a complaint about sweet and sour chicken at a Chinese restaurant… but it was on the buffet and it was pretty lame. There was a vegetable rice dish we tried that was pretty unremarkable– I’m not sure if it was supposed to be a biryani but if so it was a bad one. The pappadums here were really good. This was surprising to me because just about everywhere I go they are almost identical in flavor. Their recipe was a little more interesting than the one I’m used to. The waitress brought out some fresh naan and some dosas. Both of these were excellent. The pakoras were good. One of the other dishes on the buffet was good but I forget what it was. The galub jamun I ate for dessert was really good here. Overall, it was a mix of some bland items and some tasty ones. We looked at the full menu and decided that with the great attitude of the staff, the nice atmosphere, and the possibility of much better non-buffet food we will make a trip back and see if this place is good enough to fit into our restaurant rotation. Until then I’ll go with the 3 star rating.

I’ve been here a few times and compared to other Indian restaurants I’ve ate at it is great. The service is wonderful, they are very friendly and their mango lassis are delicious. If you’re new to Indian food, shoot for lunch time as they have a buffet where you can try different items.

Perfect Indian! A great atmosphere you can see right in the kitchen and the Indian woman cooking. Amazing service and mango lassis. A must have for the limited options in Edmond. Check out the belly dancers on Friday nights.
