Very affordable and friendly. Will keep going here. $ 15 per hour with $ 9 for the second person. They get all stars from us.

I have been to this range several times and have not had a single bad encounter. I dealt with a towering man that was somewhat daunting to deal with(due to his stature). He was very helpful, was able to answer several of my questions in a respectful manor. I looked at several pistols lat week and had an older gentleman assist me. He was helpful as well. I left with a few magazines as well as my wife receiving a new holster. I saw then working on the other bay and they said they hope to have it open very soon. I look forward to shooting in there. I have been to many gun ranges in my life, some good, some less than good, I truly enjoyed my time shooting here. I made a mistake with handling my pistol on the back bench and they were very quick to correct me, but did so in a respectful manor. When I was leaving I asked a few additional questions regarding the no firearms on that back counter and now I have a better understanding of what I had done wrong. They did explain the rules before hand, however I did not fully comprehend what they meant. Thank you Safety 1st for being patient and helping me with my questions.

I generally frequent an outdoor range out of town where my father-in-law is a member, but I’ve been interested in finding a local range so I can practice shooting occasionally. We went to Safety 1st for the first time today and were very pleased with our experience! The employees were so kind and respectful. We brought our own equipment so I can’t vouch for rentals, but the facility was really nice. My one and only complaint is that the shooting area is a little tight so we had to squeeze around other people a bit. The range fees were reasonable. I also saw a flyer for their concealed carry classes and the prices are almost half as much as what we paid for our CHL classes in Texas. Unfortunately I don’t get the opportunity to go shoot as much as I would like, but when I do I’ll be sure to go back to Safety 1st!

This place is great! I went to a class there and the instructor/owner made it very informative and kept our attention. I see some people give bad reviews because the class filled up or the student dropped the ball on scheduling witch is not safety 1st fault. I highly recommend this place.

My mother and I scheduled gun safety classes separately due to scheduling conflicts and then attempted to combine them(a week in advance of the lesson I might add). We were told over the phone that was fine and we would even have some of the money credited back to us that we already paid. Upon arrival we met with a sarcastic and irritable man(I presume the owner) who kept insisting we had lost him money and no one had said we could combine the classes. While quite clearly a miscommunication he wouldn’t listen to a word we said. I don’t appreciate being talked down to like a child. I haven’t had anyone be so rude to me in a long time. I was excited about my lesson and instead was told that I was an idiot who had lost him 60 dollars during his prime season. Instead of accusing us of incompetence perhaps you should discuss the incident with your employees Safety 1st. Edit: I also don’t appreciate you putting us down and insulting my mother 3 seconds after we walk out the door. After reading other reviews about how sarcastic and rude the owner can be I am very glad we didn’t patronize this business.

Signing up for a concealed carry course? Please be sure to understand the no-show policy, as it was not properly explained to us. If you have an emergency or happen to be sick, you will be put on a stand-by list. A stand-by list means that you may show up to any course early and see if a seat opens up. If a seat does not, you may go home… so on and so forth until you make it in a class. The customer service received was far from expected. I woke up the day of our class and was sick. We called 20 minutes before the class to let them know. Yes, I know that doesn’t leave them time to fill our seats, I understand that(unless someone happened to be waiting around on «stand-by»). However, all that was told to us on the phone was that we would be «put on the stand-by list». This was not explained thoroughly at all, no one told us we would have to come in before each class. They do not issue phone calls to let you know of openings. The fact that you basically play the lotto in finding a seat if you have to cancel last minute was not explained. If we had known this, my boyfriend would have attended and I would have signed up at a later date, cutting our losses though we would love to attend together. Sadly, when we called back about the next weekend’s courses, we still did not understand the policy. They told us they had openings on the next Sunday course(this Sunday, weekend before Christmas) so I cleared our schedules. Well, they called today to tell us that they filled our seats. You win Safety First; two wrongs make a right with y’all since you now cancelled on us. So a little confused, I called. The sir on the phone let me know he didn’t appreciate my sarcasm, which I found ironic because he was being just as lovely. He very clearly thought I was being rude, which I was not, I was trying to explain to him our confusion. He continually let me know that that’s what happens when you cancel 20 minutes beforehand. When things like this happen, people can be frustrated. I was frustrated because I was confused. Does that mean you handle a customer by cutting them off and speaking to them in a condescending manner? No, I don’t believe that is the correct way to do business. Lucky for them, their classes are full due to the threats our nation face. So reviews like this likely won’t matter, but hey, if one person reads this and understands the policy… I’m happy. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone, but I’m just one of many customers I’m sure. Go buy some beer with our $ 120 and take a load off, sounded like you needed a break on the phone. Good luck and God bless. Edit: I have just confirmed that I spoke with the owner via my FB review. This makes me incredibly sad. He has no respect for customers. He also recalls a different phone conversation than I, which is also interesting.

A good range. This opened up where the old heartland was. A nice change, since the old place was owned by a really creepy guy. Glad this is around. 1) You can shoot pistols and rifles. A little short for the rifle, but manageable with iron sights. 2) Nice staff 3) Cheap lane time 4) I’ve never seen it crowded. 5) $ 15 to rent and try something new. The Cons: 1) Short lanes, hard to shoot a rifle. Not a deal breaker, but just FYI. Cheap-quick-never crowded– and easy access for Edmond. A nice addition to the area.

Really have grown to enjoy this range. Prices for lane rentals and targets are good. Haven’t rented a firearm or bought their ammo. Older gentleman who runs the place is a character! Only desire would be that the«bigger calibers» be in the other part but I appreciate the challenges with that.

Stopped in a few days ago to see if they could order a specific 22LR for me(after having difficulty locating this firearm at the other larger gun shops/retailers in OKC). I gave the specific model number, etc. was told«I don’t show that model anywhere»(one of most sought after 22LR currently on market). After several minutes of back and fourth, he found the gun but replied«I can’t get it!» I stated I could easily get from out-of-state ops and pay local FFL, but I’d like to order/do business locally. He quickly shut me down! Went in next day to purchase 22LR ammo(tons of it on the counter), he stated«I can’t sell this to you, for range use only.» I asked why, he replied«that’s the rules.» In frustration I left with NO sale the day before(but I did buy from out-of-town dealer that same day, already shipped will arrive tomorrow @ local FFL), and left empty handed with no ammo the next day only to purchase 500 rounds this morning from another store in OKC. I’d like to give the benefit of doubt; however. Now I’m spooked that I’ll be rejected a third time and when time is money I’ll simply pay more to drive to the competitor than to wind up empty-handed again. Sadly I live four miles to the north and pass Safety 1st several times per day. I am hopeful that they will quickly learn what my own father taught me about customer service — «Take care of your customer OR someone else will…»

Lets be honest, Edmond was in need of a shooting range. I love it! Mitch and Co., do a great job and when available to answer questions, and or provide expertise he/they do. I have been getting into 3Gun lately and cannot wait to work with Mitch on my riffle. For those that may have had an experience not to their satisfaction, communicate in person and privately with Mitch. Communication is a key to solving many things.

Safety 1st just opened up in part of the old heartland outdoors. Went in last night to ask about the range and look around. They are open currently but don’t have any guns to rent yet. They said they should have everything stocked in about 3 weeks and will soon have a website. Currently you can check out their Facebook website until then. They did in form me they weren’t going to be price hiking like the old tenants(heartland). I’m just super glad to see an indoor gun range back in Edmond! $ 15 for the first person on the lane and $ 9 for the second person on the lane
