All Star Transfer

All Star Movering and Transfer just moved me from Sammamish, WA to Bonita Springs, FL. I have moved many, many times — often with major companies (like Allied) that charge much, much more). There was no comparison to this small company. The service was absolutely outstanding. They own their own trucks so there is no worry about multiple interline transfers. Not one item was broken or damaged and, more importantly — NOTHING was missing. Just a great, great company to work with and I highly recommend them.

Terrible movers. Over\charged us twice! Not careful. Not accurate or honest. We had an estimator out saying we would have 4 men + a truck. Day of move, they came late, minus one man and refused to finish the job on the day scheduled! So they had to come on a second day for 2 hours and charged us for that + the drive time — another $ 400. We complained that if all 4 men came on the move day they would have completed our move in ONE day. We paid by check and unfortunately have little recourse to get money back. Manager never called back — we left several messages for him. No one answers phones her on weekends so Drivers can do what they want. Driver made pricing errors on both days. BEWARE — better to pay more and use a more ethical outfit that won’t cheat you and do such a poor quality move.

The team at All Star handled three different moves to three different cities for me and executed everything flawlessly. Every member of the team from the agent to the driver was top notch and professional. They communicated clearly and regularly and came in at the exact price they estimated. You will not be disappointed if you use them.

We had them move a piano from Southern California to Bend, OR, and the experience was absolutely great in every respect!
Amber in the home office was very nice to work with, and the quoted price was very reasonable. Ray and Pete showed up right on schedule, and handled the piano with care, and it arrived in Bend without a scratch. Throughout the entire process, communications were terrific.
It is so great to find a company with truly professional and courteous employees. The owners are clearly doing something right. I recommend All Star without reservation.

Started out as a good experience, but quickly turned out to be the most poorly managed move I’ve experienced on the actual moving day. Excellent staff, but management really needs to take some classes on how to respond to customers and manage business. I wouldn’t recommend these guys until owner figures that out.
Energetic and helpful woman named Cecile who helped me set up a time over phone and they were very accomodating to a moving target for a move date (a Saturday). Biggest issue was trying to figure out how to load into new home that was located on an arterial. On the day before the move, I determined I needed, but couldn’t get a permit to move so called Cecile back to communicate issue. We ultimately determined that we’d just go with the original plan and estimate, which was a single trip with a 24′ truck and I’d have a plan in place to make it work.
The next day movers arrive with a 14′ truck. Because of this they had to make two 25 mile trips right through Seattle. A surprise to me, but not entirely unexpected. Just a little annoyed to not hear about the last minute change until the truck pulled up in my driveway because I actually spent time the day before to find a solution. Since this would add at least another 90 minutes to my move, I called for Cecile and instead got their owner on the phone (she was out for the weekend), who I’d say was 100% unhelpful in answering my one question, which was what is the additional rate to move between the homes for the 2^nd trip. Instead of answering my question, the owner spent 5 minutes talking about how experienced he was and he made an executive decision to pick a shorter van and that he tried to contact me the day before (checked my phone and voicemail while we were on phone — nothing from him, but whatever that’s not why I’m calling).
At that point all of that information all fine with me and I said okay so what’s the new estimate, but then owner felt that he really needed to educate me on how he runs his business and got into a «daddy knows best attitude» and began asking me rhetorical questions to defend his decision which I had accepted already, and actually tried to assign fault with me. I personally know I could have prepared this move a little better, but we hire movers to help with the planning, and to actually try and engage in a pointless blame game conversation that was irrelevant to my question was way over the top.
I could not believe my ears when he actually said «no, he wouldn’t tell me the new estimate» until I answered his rhetorical questions first. I actually found myself yelling at the owner over the phone trying to pry the new estimate for my move which would now include a second trip across the city, which should have been a very simple conversation I was ready to accept. This is information that the customer needs to know if you’re going to get paid! The phone conversation ended with him not disclosing the new estimate for the move and saying he’s going «to come down to talk with me» while the movers continued to pack my things. He didn’t come down. He didn’t answer my calls immediately thereafter. He called the head mover at my home instead to talk with me to tell me the rate and impact to the original estimate (i.e., the answer to my single question).
The move continued and when the movers went back for the second run at the home and as I waited for them at the old house, I get a call from head mover that the moving truck overheated and they were stuck on the highway and were waiting for the owner (i.e. dispatch) to call them back with a solution. Turns out the owner «turns off his phone» after 1200 on Saturday regardless of any work going on. Movers ended up waiting until coolant temperature went down and restarted truck and made it back to house for second load, with coolant spewing from side of truck. They were hesitant to continue, but offered to do so. Between me and the movers we decided to go ahead as long as they think they’d be safe.
Movers were excellent I’ve got no complaints there. They really hustled throughout the move and I’m grateful for that. If I had just interacted with them my review would be higher and my stress level would have been much less. For his credit, I will say the owner knew what he was talking about when he made his decision to go with a 14′ truck, but to waste my time to engage in a blame game conversation was unbecoming.

This company has excellent customer service. I moved to a 4^th floor apartment without elevator. The 2 guys they sent wouldn’t even stop for a break, they worked non-​stop without complaining once. The price was right, nothing broken, 2 very positive guys! I will use them again.

Honestly, Amber and Ray were a pleasure to work with. Amber helped coordinate the move including working with my time frame and even tried to get me a deal since I didn’t have that much stuff (unfortunately, out of state moves are a flat rate then go up). They delivered my items in San Francisco 9 days after pickup at my house in Seattle (movers are included in the price of course). Ray, the driver, was super patient and nice. He arrived in the city the day before I could actually move since I had to get a parking/​moving permit from SFPD and stayed a day later to deliver my stuff. He was right on time in the morning and delivered my things quickly.
All in all, they were a pleasure to work with and made my move as easy as it could be.

Last minute changes by the company without notifying me (an email costs nothing), an uncooperative and disrespectful owner answering the phone who actually flat out refused to answer my question about new, undiscussed move costs and instead wanted to initiate and engage in a pointless blame game, an overheated moving truck with owner and dispatch gone for the day (noon), and rotating personnel in the middle of the move. There’s definite room for improvement.
The movers themselves were enthusiastic and knew how to hustle and that deserves recognition (and the 2 stars), but their management really needs to take some classes on how to respond to customers and manage their business. I recommend against going with these guys until the owner figures that out.

It started out pleasant but ended very poorly. I had them pack and store my household belongings for several months in their warehouse. This portion was fine.
After about 6 months, they were instructed to move the packed belongings into large moving cubes for transfer across the nation. When I received my belongings and began to unpack, I found that there was substantial damage to my $ 6500 dining table. Two of the four bolts which hold the table’s top surface to the core structure were ripped from their embedded nuts/​mounts in the wood. The wood and mounts were significantly damaged.
A clandestine repair (they didn’t tell me) by them was attempted with wood glue by shoving these ripped pieces back in their general shape and location. The repair is poorly done and the table will not assemble or function correctly. I was not notified of this damage and attempt at repair. In addition, one round end of the top table surface is severely scratched.
All star admitted they caused the damage and did the botched repair. Regardless of their negligence, the only sent me a $ 60 check.
I discourage use of this company.
