Edmonds Plumbing

First of all, the title under «Best Plumbing» is false. It is not Edmonds Plumbing but Puget Sound Plumbing which came out. I agreed to the $ 99 visit fee, which was supposed to cover some repair time as well. They (a journeyman and a trainee) came and agreed that the problem was a leak in the pipe which brings water to the hot water heater. I asked how long it would take to replace the pipe. They said 30 – 45 minutes. I was expecting the charge to be a small amount beyond the $ 99 — to cover a piece of pipe, the travel time and the 30 – 45 minutes to replace the pipe. They then asked me to sign a form that the total cost would be $ 520 to replace the pipe, plus the $ 99. This lit me up, and I told them this price was BS for a piece of pipe and under an hour of labor. I asked what the hourly rate was; they said — we charge by the job not by the hour. I told them that the price was ridiculous and I would call another plumber. They asked for the $ 99. I told them to sue me for it. Then, they said — we want to work with you, and reduced the price to $ 299. I found this to still be high but agreed to it. So, if I was a complete sucker, I would have paid $ 629 for changing a three foot piece of pipe above the water heater with absolutely no complications. They dropped the price by over $ 300 after I said to take a hike. To me, this was an attempted theft.

I had a plumbing emergency and a short time frame/​window of when I needed a plumber to help me. Edmonds Plumbing came through. Their plumber Zeus was on time he diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and taught me a few plumbing tricks so I can do some of the basics on my own later, which I really appreciate.
